What do you mean forbidden? That's just stupid because

there is no appropriate reasoning for it. It's not like Isida

is Tanki's version of Meta Knight, so overpowered that it

makes any attempt to fight it pointless. Isida is the most

short-ranged turret in the game and, as far as I have seen,

most eSport matches are just long ranged Railshooters, so

it doesn't make ANY SENSE, unless they are delibarately

dumbing down the pro league so they can comentate about

it easier... I watched some of those battles and it's safe

to say that any casual skirmish is more interesting to

watch, not to mention that the commentating SUCKS...

I actually had an extensive discussion with someone who

played for years, and apparently, the game was much more

fair back in the day, until they decided to ditch all fairness in

favor of pay-to-win to fill their pockets...

@thekillerpenguin

Yep, that definitely convinces me that they are deliberately

dumbing down the pro leagues. While we are at it, is there ANY

kind of Tanki league with no restrictions, so players like myself

can hope to become a part of it, rather than being forced down

the sidelines to watch the same repetitive dumb matches replayed

over and over and over and over and over again?

Edit: @xeon-xxx

Thanks, I try :)

1) Yay, you watch/play Smash too!

2) lol Brawl peasantry

On a more serious note, how come we can't have esport battles that include ALL turrets, and ALL combinations of hulls? That is probably the most difficult battle you can fight, and it's far more entertaining than Rail-Smoky fights with bland patterns and highly predictable gameplay. The turrets are balanced constantly, and so is the gameplay. Once people conform to the presence of Hammer and Vulcan, why not allow a separate Starladder tourney that allows any combination, all M4, no paints?

Head to head Isida is near impossible to beat, save for Firebird, but even then it's close.

At M2, it takes me three Shaft shots (or 1+ double damage) to kill the average Isida (some are ridiculously durable). So unless he's partly depleted, I have to pray I have time for 3 shots.

As for using Hornet for Isida, it helps their mobility, but I've seen some just pop from a railgun. I don't go *anywhere* without my Viking, so when I captured a flag in Monte Carlo using Isida, I had to go *completely around* the battlefield: in across the high bridge, completely through the enemy, out across the low bridge. It helped that the other Isidas and withering Shaft volleys were wreaking havoc on the enemy as well. (Anti-railgun paint is highly recommended.)

By the end of the battle, there were 4 Isidas on our team and 3 on the enemy team.

Yeaaaaa... Most of us don't really care about streamlined maps because they are

designed to specificly appeal to a single type of players. In case of Monte Carlo those

are the Shafters, which are by far the laziest players in Tanki, and that's a fact nobody

can argue about.

As a matter of fact, once I forced myself to play as a Shafter, just to see why everybody

is so obsessed about sniping in this game, it became difficult to give it up, because it is by

far the laziest sniper in video gaming history and the most rewarding at the same time, you

don't have to care about anything or anyone except yourself, just camp at your spawn and

shoot most enemies to death before they can even come close enough to fire back, then pick

another spot and repeat the process when another Shaft takes you out. In other games, I geniunely

suck as a sniper, but in Tanki, whenever I decided to play as a selfish Shafter, I ended up in the

top3 spots in my team EVERY TIME. Personally, if I were in charge, I would remove the Shaft

alltogether, Rail and Smoky are more than enough to keep the long ranged battles going...

Anyway, back to topic...

Isida is designed to be the healer, so naturally healers are the most mobile units in any team,

and also the most fragile ones. Yes, maybe picking the Hunter in combination with the Isida

is a decent choice, but anything beyond Hunter is just insane, because you sacrifice way too

much mobility to be able to keep up with your allies and catch up with your enemies at the

same time.

I will still claim that Hornet is the best option for an Isida, because you need that sliding

maneveurability to work your way around your enemies and dodge their fire, it's much better

to avoid incoming damage than suffer through it...

PS EDIT: By the way, those who decided to vote that Mammoth would be the best

choice for an Isida... yea... those guys deserve to burn at stake... Titan also...

Unless they were joking about it, in which case that's one hell of a dark sense of

humor they have going on...

Honestly, what's the point of having a Titan or Mammoth combined with an Isida?

You will be overexposed and you will never be able to compensate for all the damage

coming your way, and you most certainly won't be able to dodge it.

The first time you run across your enemies you will be able to kill them, but only

because they were laughing at you so hard they forgot to breathe and almost

choked from laughter... It would be as if you saw a drunk zebra in a clownsuit

and a too-too pedaling a unicycle your way, you just have to stop and stare

at it for half a minute just to fully grasp the concept of the situation, and only

after that would you start to think about getting out of the way...

The second time wouldn't be as funny, because any sencible enemy would

back up a little bit just so you couldn't reach them with the Isida, and peck

at you until you drop dead, all the while giggling about how intelligent they are...

Heavy hulls at m1 are quite bad, but at m2 they have viable speeds.

I just had a CTF at Silence where I was in second place on the winning team after 20 minutes and never got one kill. IF you can manage to be the only isida in a CTF, you'll rack up points from healing like crazy. I had to drug for power just to heal the people in my team quick enough because I kept running out of ammo. Any small map CTF where your guys are close together is a boon for isida's.

Its a rankup machine, combined with the 100% multiplier pass I'm gettin 12k xp a day only playing a couple of hours (got it M3 micro upgraded though)

The best weapon at short ranges, no doubt, the self heal is a big advantage, and its fun to finish a match having 1000+ points and zero kills :D

I am managing to have a positive D/L on polygon cp, maybe 15/13 in 15mins, with M1 Isi/Tit. Should have m2 Isi, but PaymentWall, has become a "payment wall".

I notice not many many are using heavy hulls on Polygon Cp, I don't know why. But this is changing.

Its i fairly good turret for me -_-  -_-

The healing feature of isida is what i like the best, you get XP for healing your team wow thats quite nice!

Not much of a DM turret for me because it has the shortest range of any turret  <_<  <_<

And i think tanki should upgrade the range for isida  ^_^

Also its cheap... :P

isida is my only friend on the battlefield (healing) and worst enemy too (when they try to inject harmful mirochips into my tank's stainless steal and beautiful body)
