I think it is extremely annoying that railgun is constantly winning in discount voting. I am not a railgun user and it is very annoying when other people use it, which is why it would be good if there were LESS railgun sales. Even in discount voting where i don't want anything from the sale, i don't vote for railgun so that i can give other turrets a chance to win, because it is really unfair that rail always wins in voting, because it is too popular. Which, overall, is why there should be less rail sales. These are all my views on railgun and i do not speak for anyone else.

Good point!! Nowadays in battles (not in all of them) 80% are Railguns. I was in a battle a few days ago where everybody was using railgun...you couldnt even move!

The main thing as to why Railgun is being used by a lot of tankers is because of its high damage ability.When I was a inexperienced tanker, I saw a laser-like thing hit a hornet (In a battle) and  destroyed it in a shot.Since then, it became my dream to buy and upgrade it.Most tankers thought of it as a strong weapon because of this reason and they still believe it. I strongly believe that this is the main reason so as to why Railgun is mostly used by tankers.For people who like to learn new things they would choose Railgun because this particular turret requires a lotof training.Timing is the key factor to master Railgun.After this comes all the other points so as to why Railgun always wins in discounts.

Well if there's 3 or more freeze users with drugs in battle, doubt they'll lose.. 

on the other hand railgun has become a virus since it first came out, it continues to be a virus even i see gens with m1 railgun they just can't resist its superiority  :D

This is surely a very appropriate analysis. And the same reasons lead to the victory of hornet in hulls votings. Hornet Railgun is the preferred combo in fact. But there are many users that never pass through the stage of railgun where you kill none and get always killed because you didn't develop your skills yet.... And they end up getting rico, smoky or freeze, most dangerous weapons to railgun.

OP,you can't be serious with that statement..90% of users that vote for it is ranked between wo1 and general,I am sure,especially those closer to WO ranks,my guess is WO and liutenat ranks carry out more then 90% of total votes on railgun..main reason is one shot (on druggs) to kill hornets and wasps,most used hulls on lower ranks..I must say,it's quite of a beast on maps like Desert,Serpuhov,etc (big maps),especially on druggs,but your fail statement also claims that it needs skill,like it is the only weapon that it needs skill..like other weapons don't..example..serpuhov map,rail ws freeze..you get the point..every map and every game mode has different requierments..I do own rail m3 myself (not so heavy MU-ed),and I do admit that it takes skill,never said that dosen't..but,as i stated earlier,it's power is the main reason that it almost allways (besides freeze/isida) wins in voting campaigns..many kids also like the "light beam" that makes when firing..don't forget about that also..

I think the Rail requires the most practice and skills to get successful. So, it is a kind of challenge. Not just shooting and killing by hitting the button. On the other hand I do not aggree with others saying the Freeze does not requires skills. My experience is that it is also challenging in controlling the tank movement (on Wasp or Hornet) but without simultaenous turret rotation it is useless. Of course only if you wanna be really good.

Yesterday I saw am M2 Viking/Freeze combo in the map Stadium and the guy did not even turned the turret. The only reason of his results was his heavy supply use.

 

So, it is not only the heavy damage, becuase then Shaft should win the votes.

Even if a difficult or tricky shot did not kill, the acurate hit can give feeling of a little success.

You may not, Railgun always win in discount voting, and Railgun is the only gun used to get 65% off,

 

let me explain why,

 

1. before original Rebalance, Railgun is the cheapest gun to get M3 in terms of the power on tier 1-2 weapon, a lot of old players use railgun as their main gun, like me.

 

2. based on large user base, after railgun won the 1st discount voting, more railgun players will be born because the 50% discount, potiential of other gun players reduced

 

3. the more people using railgun, the more people will vote for railgun 50% discount next time

4. big numbers of m3 railgun players will still vote railgun, because they hate to see other gun becoming more, like Thunder, Isida, Freeze, they are the most annoying gun to railgun users, so railgun players will do whatever they can to stop them increase in number on battlefield, 

 

even voting railgun again after m3 railgun, to stop see more thunder, isida and freeze.

 

5. new railgun players are not a threat to exsiting railgun players, because railgun need a lot of practice to get the timing right, so new railgun players rarely able to aim and shoot correctly, exsiting railgun player can easily win over new railgun players without any damage.

I have to disagree.. Because of huge numbers of railgun users many players have bought Prodigi. Now railgun users have quitted from being threat and became prey for prodigi users. I am also a railgun user but I have almost all weapons. And I have started using railgun less. Lets not forget that once a while %50 discounts come for all weapons, not only for special ones. And railgun users also play mostly with Prodigi or any other paint which have protection against railguns or thunders or others. But not against firebirds or freezes or smokies. The best thing is get Prodigi and smoky or firebird and go for railgun hunt

I am Rail gun, Freeze, and Isida user. Thunders do get me mad in DM battles, so I just get my M1 thunder+double power knowing that they won't come close to my tank. (I will get M2 Rail gun as soon as sale comes, plus a good paint for my rank if I can.)
