Sorry to post again, but I am staggered at what just happened.

 

Someone killed me through supposedly a solid berm of earth. I asked in chat how someone could do that, wondering what sort of replies I would get?

 

NOTHING in chat, but they were all using previously the Cyrillic alphabet, so I posted the link to this and guess what?  17 of 19 players left immediately, seems that word is spreading that cheaters are being reported, lets hope the mods do take some action over our reports, or we are going to be toothless and the game will decline further.

 

I did report that player before I posted the "question" in chat, as I did the player who tried the flying hack to try to get the gold box last night...and oddly enough it was nor me who suggested it, but one of the other players said if we all used the /vote command, the mods might pay attention to what he did?

No one has said it is a rule or that it should be. Some of us just feel it is disrespectful not to help a team that you join.

Everyone has been fighting this battle to get to the point of a Gold, and they just waltz in only for a Gold. They don't even want to fight, they just want to take advantage of everyone else raising the fund. It really does annoy me. I recently got a Gold immediately after I joined, but I wasn't Gold hunting and afterwards I stayed to help my team.  I feel that that was the right thing to do, instead of leaving and making everyone else feel like they did all their hard work for nothing.

The frequency of gem drops are linked to the amount of fighting going on but if everyone just jumped in and out then no fighting and no drops. Why do you think that scavengers should be allowed continue unchecked?  Below is what I would like to see happen regarding crystal drops if tanki ever gets serious about ensuring game integrity. I guarantee you there wouldn't be one person getting 112 gold boxes in a week and it would ensure the people earned the chance of increasing their crystals. Basically they are earning off of everybody elses time, effort and drugs.

If my understanding is correct the boxes fall in frequency with how much killing is going on, more killing more boxes, if it was possible to make it so the people not killing cannot pick up the boxes, you need to have participated in game play in order to pick up the boxes ie: killed or done something prior to the boxes dropping. I guess i feel they should have "earned" the right to pick up those boxes and if they haven't well then they shouldn't be able to collect them.

The frequency of gem drops are linked to the amount of fighting going on but if everyone just jumped in and out then no fighting and no drops. Why do you think that scavengers should be allowed continue unchecked?  Below is what I would like to see happen if tanki ever gets serious about ensuring game integrity.

Before I start , Happy Birthday Tanki, job well done to you all.

 

Now,

The recent updates are cool.

The extra game crystals is great.

The 5,000 gold box is great.

The special offers in the garage are great.

The Game competition is great but out of my league lol

 

But,

The extra blue crystal boxes falling is killing game play during event. ( yes it is only my opinion).

 

In theory it is great and a nice gesture but all it is doing is creating campers, people sitting where blue boxes fall and not contributing to the game, was playing a game where we could have easily won if not for the few on our team who were just there to collect blue boxes, other team going past with our flag and they divert to get a few blue boxes instead of getting the flag same with death matches, just sitting out in the open getting killed in the hope of catching a few blue boxes.

I wont pretend to understand the inner workings ( or lack there of ) in a trolls mind but it is basic decency to read a post before responding with an ignorant reply. How you could quote it and still confuse yourself should be amusing but it is not, it is sad.

I remember the one game you are refering to and I finished higher then you if memory is correct, think i was third or fourth on our team which wasn't bad as I joined late, you were a lot lower down in our team i recall and became very upset that you were not allowed to push players off enemy flag to take for yourself or to push other players to take drops? I would have taken every box to stop you getting any for sure. Think we won that battle by a margin of 40 flags as well. Not against people taking boxes, I just think they should contribute to their teams efforts as well. So if that amounts to being busted, what can I say, hands up, you got me lol

 

He is also an unskilled player - yeah I have a lot still to master in the game but in my 4 months playing I have learned a lot. You obviously were having an off day in that battle because your skills were quite average and not the generalissimo trapped inside a brigadier that you think you are ;)

Well I guess I can't complain about going off topic. I did the same thing. However now that you have both said your piece, lets stay on topic. You can fight it out on the battle field or PM

 

However one thing is becoming very clear to me. People care about crystals the most. Your fine system idea is looking better and better all the time. We can control a lot of people's bad behaviour with better control over the crystals.

well picking up crystal boxes actually gets you crystals way faster than battle rewards. but i only do it in DM battles not team battles, and i dont collect all the time... i collect for the item i want, and have fun with it.

 

 

I agree, crystal box drops much often than before, 

 

and battle fund is like cut into half after last fund reward system change,

 

like previously , a 7 flag sandbox CTF can get me around 600 crystal long time ago, now only like 300 crystal,

 

if you just catch those blue crystal, you can get 300 crystal easily just by picking crystal without joining the fight.

I've wanted to be able to report people that break game/chat rules, but it's always seemed like an awful lot of "paper work"...

 

Kinda like REAL police reports. I do use the /vote command actively. Of course, if it was an abalible option for my rank, I would play Pro-Battles with no boxes in order to deter cyrstal grabbers, but, alas, even on Server 1 there is only, like, 2 Pro-Battles on and they have nothing checked so it's just a regular battle that costs 500.

There are is another topic worth reading "Auto-Kick" system for "Mults"  it is intended to work along side the "Team-Kick" idea from @AbsoluteZero. 

 

What has occurred to me is that if these 2 systems get used by Tanki it would make the /vote more effective, due to the fact /vote won't need to used as much. Less /vote battles for the mods to look at means they should have a faster response time to deal with the players and issues the  2 kick systems can't deal with.

What can WE do to help?

 

Like many of you, I'm tired of mults, saboteurs,cheaters, and crystal grabbers ruining our games. 

It is time to fight back and send a message that we will not tolerate this anymore.

 

 

 

First off, to the mods:

• You don't need to close this. Just delete anything you feel needs to be deleted, just don't lock it. We can't have a conversation and come to a solution for this huge problem if it gets locked. 
• It will be good for the game over time.
• Feel free to join in the conversation, in fact I encourage you too. We look forward to your input. After all this affects all of us. Many people look to the staff of Tanki Online for guidance and direction, much the way a student looks to a teacher or an employee looks to their boss.
• Don't move this to the "off topic" section. How much more on topic can it be? 

To posters:

• Please don't post useless things here. If you don't have anything constructive to say, don't say anything at all
• If you disagree with some of my points, that's fine, feel free to say what you want, just keep it constructive and civil.
• I will ask a mod to delete anything I think is useless to the conversation. 

Terms used in this topic (for those who do not know already) :

• MULT - a player put into a game for the propose of taking up space on a team. In most cases they are inactive but moved from time to time to prevent being auto kicked.
• SABOTEUR - a player who joins just to sabotage a game. Sometimes for their own fun, sometimes to help the opposite team win. They block you on purpose, push off team mates, hold flags so they can't be captured and etc. etc.
• CHEATERS - these players will use all kinds of tricks. They use hacks, glitches, and 3rd party software to gain an unfair advantage.
• CRYSTAL GRABBER - a player who joins a games for no other reason then to grab crystal boxes. They have no interest in helping their team mates. They try to justify it by not killing anyone. I've even seen them say "please no kill". They take up space that could be used by a good player willing to help their team.
• /VOTE  is a command you can use in the game chat. It is designed to call a moderator to a battle that has a mult, saboteur, cheater or hacker. Here is an example ( /vote Canadian_Eh ) If your not sure of the exact spelling of a player push Tab > click on the name > click "copy name" > and paste it after "/vote" in the game chat. You can vote anyone regardless which side they are on.
• GOLD BOX HUNTERS - are players that spend their time going from battle to battle just hunting for gold boxes and in many cases not helping the teams they join. I personally disagree with this behaviour but Tanki encourages it with "Gold Hunter of the Week". So you decide how you feel.

Did you know you can get a ban for not killing mults and saboteurs that are helping your team?

 

Below is the result of a reported battle that had a red team player preventing his own team from grabbing the blue flag.(Mammoth with twins) There were 3 other blue players helping him, but not killing him.  All 4 of these players got banned.

 

I was in a long game 2 days ago and a guy comes in and asks "gold yet?". I told him "No, and your not getting it anyway. You haven't earned the right in this game." I was using shaft and as soon as the gold box dropped he went after it. I waited till he was right at it then shot him. I told him "I told you, you would not get it." He didn't like it very much, swore at me and left. LOL I gave up my chance to get it just to stop him. I really hate people that do what he did. Everyone fought hard to get to the point of a gold box drop. What gives him the right to come in and take it, with out helping his team. I do the same thing to people that are just in battles to grab crystals. Even tough it is better for my team if I leave them alone. It isn't right to join a team if your not going to help them.

Edit: Further explanation is included in some replies further down. Whether you agree with what I did or not is up to you. You can choose to do as wish with "gold box hunters". This story is intended to show that at times you may be required to sacrifice, to do what is right. 

 

Here is our plan.

• We must remember not to break the rules ourselves to accomplish this. Please read the rules and remain within these boundaries at all times.
• This will not be easy, but with time and commitment it will make a difference.
• It will require people to discourage this kind of behaviour. Tell them if they are breaking the rules, they may be unaware. Also tell them that what they are doing may be fun to them but not others, and that they are ruining game play.
• It will require help from both teams in a battle. Don't be afraid to ask for help getting rid of a mult or crystal grabber, and be willing to do the same. I know mults on the other team help you but it doesn't help this campaign or the game.
• It will, at times, require you to sacrifice your game and score to prevent this kind of behaviour.
• Tell all your friends and anyone else you can about this. Get them involved with helping.
• Kill crystal grabbers repeatedly. Don't let them just grab crystals without helping the team they joined. Why should they get paid for our kills and hard work? If they are on the same team as you prevent them by pushing them away and grabbing the crystals from them. Make it as hard for them as you can. Ask the other team to keep killing them. Let people know that if they want to pick up crystals they will need to earn them. Same goes for gold boxes.
• If your team places a mult on the opposite team make it your job to force then out. Keep killing that mult until they leave. Tell everyone about it and ask for help. Tell your team to remove them or you will report them.
• If the other team puts a mult on your team. Tell everyone about it and ask if someone on from the other team can help get them out by killing them repeatedly until they leave. Again tell them to remove the mult or you will report them.
• Use the /vote command even if you feel it isn't very effective. Tell everyone to do it, on both teams. 
• Take video if you can and report them. Tell them what you are doing. 
• If the other team allows a saboteur to remain, and won't do anything about it, leave the battle, and encourage your whole team to leave. They will get tired of not having anyone to play with. Remember to collect evidence and report them.

I know lots of you will say this is a waste of time, but if we do nothing they win and nothing will ever change. With time and as our numbers grow, we may be able to make a difference.  I personally will feel more and more satisfied every time I can rid this game of one of these people.
