Terms used in this topic (for those who do not know already) :

  • MULT - a player put into a game for the propose of taking up space on a team. In most cases they are inactive but moved from time to time to prevent being auto kicked.
  • SABOTEUR - a player who joins just to sabotage a game. Sometimes for their own fun, sometimes to help the opposite team win. They block you on purpose, push off team mates, hold flags so they can't be captured and etc. etc.
  • CHEATERS - these players will use all kinds of tricks. They use hacks, glitches, and 3rd party software to gain an unfair advantage.
  • CRYSTAL GRABBER - a player who joins a games for no other reason then to grab crystal boxes. They have no interest in helping their team mates. They try to justify it by not killing anyone. I've even seen them say "please no kill". They take up space that could be used by a good player willing to help their team.
  • /VOTE  is a command you can use in the game chat. It is designed to call a moderator to a battle that has a mult, saboteur, cheater or hacker. Here is an example ( /vote Canadian_Eh ) If your not sure of the exact spelling of a player push Tab > click on the name > click "copy name" > and paste it after "/vote" in the game chat. You can vote anyone regardless which side they are on.
  • GOLD BOX HUNTERS - are players that spend their time going from battle to battle just hunting for gold boxes and in many cases not helping the teams they join. I personally disagree with this behavior but Tanki encourages it with "Gold Hunter of the Week". So you decide how you feel.

I really like this definition section.  Useful to link to just so everyone is on the same page.  Think we could come up with definitive videos giving an example of each, then link a couple after the definition?

As for how to stop raiding with mults I have no idea, even the proposed kick systems wouldn't work when they comprise half the team.  Best we can hope for is to make it harder for the more casual violators so the mods actually have time and resources to deal with that level of organization.

One thing that bugs me is when people will wait to cap a flag and finish a game so more people can join the opposing team to increase the battlefund or trigger a gold box drop.  Normal people won't come in to join the losing side of a one sided fight, all it does is leave the map open to raiders looking for an easy way to loot a high battle fund.  This happens frequently considering that most fights are one sided and the game provides little to no incentive to stick with a losing team.  Everyone would be better off to get it over with quickly and move to a more active map.  Not that I have anything against raiding tactics provided they stick within the rules of the game, just irks me being vulnerable to losing a battlefund due to people on my team not recognizing the threat.

We could try but I'm not sure it is necessary. Maybe (PM) me some examples.

I also want to add something about "Raiders". I need a little more info first.

I agree "raiding" itself is not against the rules, but when they use mults then there are rules being broken. "deliberate inaction"

I do have an idea.

  • use the friends system
  • while in the score "pop-up" you could hover over a players name and all of that players friends are highlighted.
It would only be useful to make you aware of the fact something funny is going on. There are no rules that say you can't join a battle on the opposite side as your friend, but in a high stakes battles it really doesn't make sense to, unless you are planing on sabotage. If you indeed find mults on your side that are friends with most of the players on the other side, then you can video and report, or use /vote. Edited by Canadian_Eh

I suggest avoiding LONG games and games with no time limits.

Those are the games where this sort of behavior can do the most damage.

Because of all the bad behavior I have seen,  I won't play a game with no time clock running, and I choose short games (30 minutes or less).

If you see a game requiring 100 flags to win, or a game with a three hour time limit, don't enter it.

It will be full of mults, saboteurs, hackers, etc.

Let them fight each other.

I also leave a game when there are too many players breaking the rules.

Why waste your time fighting these people, when you could play a another game, with honest players?

I love a really good game, when winning is based on skill & teamwork.

another idea is this, if a tank goes inactive in battle and gets auto removed more then  twice in one day it cant be played again that day as many mults just park up

I support this

No, I don't. It would be insane to enact this. If a player accidentally can't play for 5 minutes and he's auto-removed or a player faces this because of net connection. Then, he wouldn't be able to play for the entire day. This also could lead to a mass exodus of tankers from tanki.

Not really he just doesn't know when to give up. I think he enjoys trying to make people look stupid.

Yh i dont like him last time i joined a battle and he called me noob cuz i proved something to him i dont know what but he raged cuz he was wrong of something

What can WE do to help?

Like many of you, I'm tired of mults, saboteurs, cheaters, and crystal grabbers ruining our games.

It is time to fight back and send a message that we will not tolerate this anymore.

Terms used in this topic (for those who do not know already) :

  • ADDED 09/04/14
  • RAIDERS are a very organized group of players that move from battle to battle looking for high battle funds to raid. If you don't pay attention they slowly stack the teams. They take turns sharing the battle funds. The mults of the losing side become the winners in the the next raid and vice-versa. Have you ever been in a battle where you think "this is easy, we got this" only to have the battle completely reverse and suddenly those "easy players" find those missing skills an supplies? You sit there scratching your head "Why did they give up? Why aren't the drugging?"  Well you just got raided.

Here is our plan.

  • ADDED 09/04/14
  • Raiders are another problem. If you find yourself in this situation just leave the battle. Don't stick around to feed their "raided battle fund". Leave them to fight among them selves.
  • Stay out of battles that are 100 flags, no timers, really long timers, or already too lope sided to win. These are the traps.
  • It is better to win 100-200 crystal every 15-20 minutes then maybe 2000 in a several hour game. And if you end up having to leave, it is no big lose.

Join the Group because we are

"Making a difference one ban at a time"

Please go and offer your support for these as well.

Thank-you

These may be ideas that need to implemented by Tanki but they will still require our  help to work.

Kept this going  we need to have the dev's  do something about all of this.

We all work hard on every game we played.

And when others  with CHEATS or RAIDERS  Come in  and rob our  battle funds  after we played for an hour that's  just wrong .

So here here to this  new campaign. :fire_r:  :fire_l:

Come on all let get this up and running get involved and let take our games back.

Who with me ?  ;)

Sometimes the simplest things are the most effective. I was able to chase a "crystal grabber" out 2 days ago. He was one those players that has the nerve to come in and say "no kill, just collecting crystals" I told him he would not be allowed to do that here. When he asked why I told him it was disrespectful to the players that are here fighting to earn them. I then told him if he continued,  I would report him. He actually said sorry and left.  I'll say it again "Get rid of the cyrstals, get rid of half the problem."

I have some other interesting information as well. I was reading a topic from 2 years ago complaining about the exact same things we are still complaining about. This just proves that "If you want something done right, do it yourself". Tanki doesn't really seem too interested in solving the problems. I think the reason why is because most of those players complaining from 2 years ago got fed up and quit. They don't care about that either because even more new unsuspecting players join everyday. It's a cycle. If you look at the posts, most of those players went inactive within a few months of starting to complain, never to return again. The day will come, probably not too far off, when I will leave as well, and many will be happy, because they will not need to hear me complain anymore. But don't worry some new guy will come up and take my place in the complaint department. :D
