Ok, I think this needs to be said, even though it kind of sounds stupid.

 

You should make mines destroyable.

Not buy just running over it, but by shooting it. 

Maybe to balance this give the mine a larger damage area [splash damage?]

Srsly, these things are so annoying.

 

You should make risks ok, even if it seems stupid, this idea actually might be really useful and makes game play more serious in the battlefield, and no more annoying mine fields, where the miner is a mammoth guarded by 2 isidas.

Fully half their usefulness is as an area denial weapon.  Besides how would they cope with the massive damage of a firebird clearing a path with double damage?  Would an isida be able to find mines at a range by locking on?

 

Besides mines are already able to be disarmed, you just kill the person who placed them.

 

I'd be against splash damage.  A drugger could plop one down after taking the flag and hit every defender at once when you are trying to freeze him.

No, I don;t flip on them, I'm saying you should make mines destroyable to prevent people from making mine fields, which kind of destroys the team balance.

I've thought this idea over and I think if mines had 250 health then this idea would be viable with proper balancing.  Instead of the proposed splash damage what if mines had greatly increased impact force?  At this health people could clear them faster than they could be put down, but it would be a slow process and leave you vulnerable.  The impact force would help the mine's purpose of flipping druggers, especially if it were powerful enough to knock heavier tanks into the hair.  Not a guaranteed flip but off balance and in the air enough that any nearby players could shoot or position themselves to finish the job.  Incidentally parkour people might like this idea.

Agree, but destroyable? Then it would be good only if critical hit of smoky can destroy it(you need few shots) to make it harder, or railgun's standard shot. Destroying entire one area of mines by freeze/firebird? Making it worthless. Also, shooting it by right wep should make it explodes(+splash dmg) in same moment, so not to make it 50 cry/part of d.g. got for nothing.

One old and good way to destroy mines. Yup, we need few new.

Ah, greater impact force, that might be good too, BUT, heavier tanks are in the "heavy" category for a reason, if the impact force was so big it would flip a heavy tank, it would be hell if a light tank went over that mine.

 

Reduce the amount of health to 150, and make it only destroyable only by a few weapons (eg smoky, thunder, shaft, railgun only)

Maybe a better idea would be to limit the number of active mines you can have at once. Let's say the limit was at 5; once I place a 6th mine, the first one I planted disappears. You could adjust the number, but you get the idea.
