Voice chatting in battle

Recommended Posts

Alright, fair point. But I think most players will be too shy to speak with a handful of strangers.

Even so, I remember seeing such a suggestion somewhere, and the reply wasn't negative. Maybe they are planning this for the future.

I would much rather keep the same chat programs I've been using for years than some clunky, laggy, and awkward integrated chat.  Especially when players in a random battle can speak any number of languages.  Unless it is something like day z where in game chat is meant to represent talking in close proximity it is usually a waste of resources to add it.  Even in day z organized groups used a dedicated chat program.

Aside from that I tend to play muted and keep my voice program on a different computer.  Would be inconvenient.

Ah yes, I've forgotten all about that issue, it was greatly stressed in a previous discussion. Considering that the probability of a large number of Russian players is very high, it's highly unlikely that any decent conversation will be held on voice chat.

If it's an organized event, you might as well have them on a dedicated program.

There are some players do not have access to Skype or TeamSpeak

Skype is available to all versions as far as i know but some computers/laptops cant run it, it would be nice to see this implemented. This might take year(s) to complete and plus laptops have built in Microphones but computers don't so they have to go out and buy them.

Good luck on the idea!

This will make Tanki even heavier for my connection. Plus how you want to check people's behaviour during voice chat? You can't report people for things they said through voice chat. I don't think Tanki is suitable for this.

No thank you.  I have disabled my mike permanently and the camera to reduce spying by flash and have no wish to hear other senseless chatter.  If it could be only used for battle use then that might be one thing however 12 people screaming the Ice Man is coming to get them might be a bit confusing.  I also do no want to hear about someones knitting or chat up lines thank you    I can ignore or respond to the written word.  Their is far too much of that as it is, very little of it has any relevance to what is going on.

Perhaps a chat page on the forum completely separate from games might be better.  Then more people could just get on with fighting the war instead of loosing a game while making up with a buddy!
