Im quoteing, and geneticly modifying the quote.....

sorry I don't understand what you are saying

does it mean you modified the quote and changed it from my name to danger, and then asked me that I still see it as my name quoted? the answer is no.

why fix something that isn't broken? New tanki version, why? Who needs it? Who asked for it? If you want to create a new game, then do it, but please don't ruin the game that we love and call it "Tanki 2.0"....

EDIT: After searching for a while it seems that Tanki 2 won't completely replace the current version, but it will more be like an alternative, so that's good.

So what do you guys think about it?

I think the graphics rendering is much better, I think the maps look much better in terms of depth and possible realism, the actual tanks look like Looney Tune's animations and should be trashed and done over again.  If Smokeys and Feezes look like that i the future, then I just might quit the game on principal.  Bad enough the game is becoming more like a sport than a game of armored combat, now it has to be further reduced to cartoonish foolishness in appearance.  Glad they stated they will maintain the flash based one at the same time as the new one, because you won't catch me playing in those games.  All that said though, the POTENTIAL of the new graphics IS amazing and I hope they simply do MUCH BETTER with the graphic designs of the tanks and release it.

This isn't really Tanki Online 2. That was scrapped. This is just what it will look like because they are changing from running the game on Flash to Unity. To those who say the new graphics look bad: This is because this will be available for smartphones and tablets. If it looked the same as it does now, it would take too much RAM to function properly on mobile devices.

I say full speed ahead :)

Dude look...

Few years back tanki had older graphics. In an update tanki changed them to what we have in game now. People had a lot of hate on the new graphics and said it looks cartoonish. But tanki still implemented those graphics and those same people who hated the new graphics got used to it after sometime.

So try to understand that it takes time to get familiar with new things. You cannot just regret anything if you have not tried it. I am sure an upgrade in graphics is a good thing. After all for how long can someone play with those old and boring graphics.

This is a problem with people, not graphics.

See, novelty is a stupid thing to take into consideration when perfection and better is already the norm.  You don't tire of seeing something that is right and old and prefer something new that doesn't look right.  Classic architecture is nearly ALWAYS superior in aesthetic design than modern, it is durable, and it is well thought out.  Same with cars, modern cars do not hold a candle to the beauty of classic cars, the list goes on and on.

So why does this happen?  Simple, people are sold a bill of goods for one, "look this is new, so IT MUST BE BETTER", and two, we live in a world that doesn't know how to appreciate the superior from the inferior anymore, and novelty is the only factor that counts now.  The only place where this does change is in sex.  Hot women are hot women, and I assume women find attractive men attractive, period, that DOESN'T go out of style.  Imagine that, the basest of instincts is a clear reminder to us of what is worthwhile and what isn't.

I agree with the other member, this is not a good design, and you a said it yourself, "you need time to adapt", thus you, as in YOU, need time to simply objectively accept what each thing is and then play the mechanics of the game, you have ZERO appreciation for the actual design or look, and as such, are another on of those in the crowd that can't keep an attention span greater than 30 seconds on about anything.  There are those of us that still appreciate real art, real beauty, real expression, and that tank of course doesn't hold a candle to the Flash based models of today.

My two cents.

Play-doh art.

Plus, this isn't new. This is old. How about... M3%20Thunder%20M3%20Viking_zpsekpyo8kt.j

Hmmm... Starting to get your point. And not getting why devs can't be asked to transfer these kind of styles into Unity. If it's possible to transfer files from Flash to Blender, then it's definitely possible to transfer files from Flash to Unity.

I don't like the new style; the old style (Flash as of now, not 2012) definitely looks...just cooler. This seems to remind me too much of World of Tanks. And that's definitely not a good thing. I think the developers should transfer the old style of graphics for both the maps and the tanks themselves to Unity. Then, they can have open testing on the test server of things like uneven ground, weather/precipitation, different graphics, etc. I think changing it so drastically is going to lose a lot of tankers, just like the last major graphics update. That one definitely improved things, but this is a step backwards to me.

Tanki is aiming at a different market than WoT, so the difference should be visible. This looks almost realistic, but it's missing that complete realism, just like World of Tanks. The Uncanny Valley (look it up) effect is what made me hate on that game, and it would be a shame to have Tanki move in that direction as well.

Also, I think that one of the main drawing factors of Tanki as of now is the major coolness effect of the M3 weapons; this keeps lower-ranked tankers climbing that rank ladder to get the cool equipment. This Unity version suffers from the same malady that afflicted the older (oldest) graphics: there's little visual difference between M0 and M3 equipment (not to mention that, in my opinion, even the M3 stuff doesn't hold a candle to the M0s of the Flash edition.).

One last thing: most of the aesthetic appeal of the M3s and M0s, to some extent, is their sleekness and chrome. In my opinion, the Unity version ditches this for a too-chunky effect that looks almost cartoonish. I look forward to better physics, smoother gameplay, and a mobile edition, but with regards to the graphics, don't fix what ain't broken.

Just my two cents.
