Revision in the number of Active Servers

Of course no, it doesn't mean that. It's just that the new number of servers is calculated to make sure that population of the majority of servers doesn't go above 2700 players. If it starts getting above that, we will be adding more servers. Simple as that.

Nice update! It'll be good to see servers full!

My Ukrainian mate's best friend is Russian and yes, you have to find me Sovietmachine and his whereabouts on the existing servers

In my opinion you should instead reduce the Russian servers from 27 to about 20 cause around half the people that are on those servers are not Russian.

Good job with this! It only just occured to me that a lot of the servers are pretty dead....

During the day, like right now, you see tons of players in all 27 of the Russian servers. Then you take a look at the English servers and realize that only about the first 3-4 servers have a decent amount of players in them. With the remaining 16-17 servers containing less than one thousand players each.

Good Idea, but then that means the server 1 would have more people and that is usually the "xp" server.

First of all, nobody took your server. It is just named RU becuase Russian players get sent there by default sometimes. It is still available to everyone, whether you use English, German or Russian version of Tanki Online. 

Secondly, English servers were picked for a reason, they are the least populated compared to RU and DE servers, even at weekends. So, even after this change they will be not as densely populated as RU and DE. Nothing to worry about here.

 

One of reasons why I'm playing on EN servers is because they are lagging less than RU and DE do.

Now we'll lose that :/

err lag wont be much of a problem. less servers = less lag

more players = more lag

so evens out if you think about it

Tankers!

 

In our constant effort to bring you more exciting and competitive battles, we will be reducing the number of servers in order to increase server population.

 

This means that, no matter which server you choose, you will always find a good number of tankers to join your team, or to serve as unwilling targets for your turret.

 

Following the update, there will be 10 EN servers instead of 20, and 2 DE servers instead of 3. Of course, we will be monitoring server population very closely, and adapting the number of servers accordingly.

 

The update will go live at 1 am UTC+0 on October 14, right with the scheduled server restart.

No money to support more servers I'm guessing?  :rolleyes:

that just means that a server is shared inbetween more machines. or that if a machine was holding 2 servers, now it holds just 1. if tanki did not sell some actual servers, we should not have troubles based on lags.

I was thinking absolutely the same :P

 

But idk what to think about this update,players will be closer to eachother with this,just like back in those good old days,where everyone from the english community knew eachother :)

 

And who cares about lagg when you have friends to play with? :D :lol:

Can servers be unlocked by rank instead? Say

 

Server 1 - Unlocked at Fieldmarshal

Server 2 - Unlocked at Brigadier

Server 3 - Unlocked at Third Lieutenant

Server 4 - Unlocked at Master Sergeant

Servers 5 to 10 - Free for all

 

So that this way a Generalissimo is guaranteed to find a battle in Server 1, but can also set up a battle in Server 3 to play with friends. This will reduce server load among high level players while coercing low level players to distribute themselves among the usually unused servers introducing a lag-free experience for everyone.

Instead of removing servers, reduce the max number of players per server. What is it now, 2500 per server? Reduce it to 1500 each. It will reduce lag for everyone and make all servers more populated. Same result but less lag.

 

I'm I wrong about this? What causes less lag, less servers or less people per server?  Maybe Tanki needs to reduce the number of servers to save money, and if that is the case my questions are irrelevant.

Well.......... Including the lag that moves the scroll all over the place in random directions whilst searching for a battle. That [DAF CF HORN] scared the [FERRARI F12 BERLINETTA HORN] out of me when it happens  :wacko:
