Samaritan award !

Some team members help others when they are upside down to get them standing back. They are often killed for that, when they succeed they should be awarded for this risky brotherhood behaviour. Could be good to encourage samaritans?

How would the server be able to recognize such actions? This idea sounds nice, but flawed as it is open to cheaters the way you've presented it.

Why open to cheaters ? could you eleborate ...it's a risky job. If you succeed you have spent time on it. You may be awarded after e.g. 10 "brownie points". One could have the Samaritan of the Month !! Promoting good behaviors deserves it, to make difference with the real world :wub:

How could the server recognize this action: I agree with this comment. Open to brainstorming ... by members :rolleyes: . A good challenge is also fun !!

 

To Truthteller:

The aim is making the team wining the game. Not sure the players will spend their time in helping each other. You are an easy target when doing this. In addition, being upside down and  be noticed by someone else is not so frequent.

 

To Chameleos:

For any of them: You can help by pushing the "victim" near a slope or from a plateform, don't you? Not necesseraly using your turret.

Isida gets already reward when curing others.

Freeze and Fire: aren't they protecting each other per se when in tandem (team spirit already, ?). They could be rewarded like Isida when cooling down or warming up one of their team members after Fire or Freeze attack, respectively.

We can imagine also that they really lose their tank after 2-3 upside downs, as an advantage to compensate (?).

I've been thinking on this... it's really tricky.

 

So scenario number 1.

Tanker is on their side (Isida, Twins, Freeze, etc, can't flip themselves back).

Team mate fires on them to put them back on their tracks.

Server sees you're on your side, then sees you've been hit by friendly fire and then you're right way up.

 

Scenario number 2.

Same as 1 but you're against a wall or other obstacle.

Teammates move you into a clear space and then same as 1.

Server sees you're on your side, then sees you've been in contact with a teammate. Then hit by friendly fire and then you're right way up.

 

Scenario number 3.

You're upside down!

Essentially the same as scenario 2. But the friendly fire isn't always necessary.

 

The good samaritan reward might go nuts in parkour.

 

I don't think this will ever be introduced in a standard game mode. Perhaps if we have game modes with spectators, verified moderators and judges who can vote on individual player performance. It'd be like Olympic Figure Skating except it's got massive guns, heavily armoured tanks and no ice.

 

The other option is for players to gift supplies to others who help them in game. Though this would be a distraction if you're being fired upon.
