It should be called Lightning, ressembling the lightning fast shooting of the gun.

I like the infinite ammo, even if you get overheated, a friendly freeze could just unburn you :)

u are smart

I'm looking forwards to the release of the machine gun. I like automatic weapons, but I don't like dealing with the limited range and slow projectile speed of Twins, so this ought to be interesting.

omg yes,machine gun have bullets

so i think it travels 70 meters in like 1 second or less?\

a twin bullet takes some time to reach the target and also machine gun bigger accuracy and the overheating quite small

i shot non-stop till i kill myself xD

The Vulcan... not a bad name choice, however, they could have gone with something a tad bit more original. If this weapon has the same functionality as Twins, I would expect it to have similar prices. On another note, diggin' that Creeper paint they showed once during the V-Log. XD

The new machine gun should have been named "Vulcan", not the shotgun..

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQY44Tx0O8s- The Nerf Vulcan, the discontinued foam dart firing toy blaster

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkgAevHXqiI- "Chain Vulcan" weapon from FTL: Faster Than Light. If you care so much to ask, the ship in the video is the Federation Cruiser.

I called it. I totally called it.

I think it would stop at the same rate a burn from Firebird would. My theory (please, it's just an idea):

The burn affect of the Machine Gun is affected by the model of the weapon. (M0, M1, M2, M3)

Say, for example, if you were equipping an M0 Machine Gun and fired it at the maximum rate. I figure that if the burning effect used by Firebird functions the same as the burn recoil on this weapon, then you should start to lose health at the same rate as you would by being burned with an M0 Firebird. Likewise, if you put an M2 MG and fired it at the max rate, you would begin to take damage equivalent to being hit full blast with an M2 Firebird, the amount of damage at maximum overheat (where it would be equal to be getting hit point-blank with the Firebird) based on how long you fire.

Now, here's another thing I thought about: What about micro-upgrades?

Obviously, the mechanics of the MG and the Firebird are very different: One launches a large spray of burning material at the target at close range, while the other fires repeating rounds out of a barrel for a virtually indefinite amount of time (if the burning affect was NOT taking place) at a longer distance. However, they both have the ability to leave a lasting burn on a hull. (Obviously, the difference is which hull: your own, or the opponent's.) Now, in Firebird, there are micro upgrades that can increase the duration and damage of a lasting burn. The MG also has a burning affect, so might there be a micro-upgrade or two to DECREASE the damage and duration? Something to think about.

So, just to put a few extra ideas out on the forums, see if they'll stew.

Quoting myself ._.

If this is how the Vulcan's burn factor will work, then it would be smarter to keep this weapon at M2, because if you have an M3 Vulcan on a less modified hull, like an M2, it will have less of a burn effect, which means less self damage.

You'd just have to be smart as to what you're aiming at.

I don't think Shedinjas can use Machine Gun. You only have 1 HP, and status moves kill you.

Anyways! I think the name Vulcan makes sense - sort of.

A Vulcan is a six-barrel, 20mm U.S. Army antiaircraft gun system mounted on an armored personnel carrier and first deployed in 1968.

Then again doesn't Vulcan have something to do with fire and volcanoes?

Could be from that point of view. It's like a fiery volcano spewing out a bunch of fire. . . er. . . bullets. . . lol
