I really like the new turret, very good for mid and long range battles, can work at close range if you start shooting on time, but better to keep distance between enemies. Aiming really takes a lot of skill and will take a lot of practice to master. I find it better to stay still and turn your turret while shooting. Overall a very good turret.

You are right. In last December, the newly released Hammer allow inexperienced players put it on a fast hull, running around, shoot shoot shoot, run away and get high score. Now, the Vulcan allow inexperienced players stand still, with a heavy hull, then shooooooooot and score.

I believe either the range should be reduced or rate of heat generated, which damages the shooter's tank, should be increased ; or the damage should be reduced.

Are you kidding? I'm massacring these M0's in droves on my lower account. Higher modifications may be different, but I don't think we should make any conclusions until the initial craze wears off.

Shot-and-hide doesn't mean you are skilled or experienced or "pro". You have to understand that.

Okay, get vulcan and get crys, if this is just like that! After, you can use the gun that you enjoy with it with your lots of crys that you got with vulcan.

I disagree that Vulcan will benefit inexperienced players, I find that it is one of the hardest turrets to use effectively. You have to learn how to drive, shoot and turn your turret all at the same time to be good with it. It is my new favorite. I'm surprised that only a handful of people seem to be using it so far, I thought it would be more popular. Maybe it will catch on over time.

Since the unlock rank for M2 Vulcan has been changed to 2nd Lieutenant, I could buy M2 Vulcan this very second! Well, that's probably not an efficient use of crystals, so I'll wait until Valentines Day, where there will hopefully be a sale on turrets and hulls.

For now, I'll see if I can handle Vulcans with my (buffed) Ricochet. Shouldn't be awfully hard if I don't stay out of cover for too long.

I'm getting a decent kill rate against Vulcan M1 with Isida/Hornet M2 (unbuffed). I find I can generally avoid critical damage with some tricky driving skills. But having said that, in time, the Vulcanites are going to get better and better at aiming.

Not been up against a M2 Vulcan yet, but I'm not inclined to buy the new turret.

After fighting against a few Vulcans in combat (mostly M1/M0, a few M2 ones here and there), I can say the following:

  • It's hilarious to pop back and forth from cover and see Vulcan users struggle to even get a shot off at you. Railguns will have a field day with this. Freezes, Thunders, and Smokies too.
  • M2 Vulcan can cut things down pretty quickly at close range. Even my M2 Dictator takes quite a bit of damage from it.
  • Damage at range is pretty bad, so it's best used at medium range.
  • With the temperature update, overheating is a pretty serious concern now. I've seen several Vulcan users burn out from constant firing.

Regardless, I'm still planning on getting it on the next sale for prolonged combat. Ricochet will run out of ammunition (and has limited range), and M2 Smoky is still pretty far away, so M2 Vulcan is probably the best option for storming bases through the front door. When you're doing that, you definitely want plenty of ammo and lots of damage.

Hmph, I'm wondering if I still want M2 Thunder at this point. Thunder does have several advantages over Vulcan (peek-a-boo players will have a harder time, splash damage), but for prolonged combat they basically do the same thing.

"hiding"

I've battled a few M3 Vulcan's now and they do hardly any damage to my Dictator, most of the time I have killed them before they get me. The only time it is a threat is when its on DP, but even and M3 Fire kills you faster.

Overall probably won't get it unless it get a damage buff, I don't know why everyone is complaining about it, it's such an underpowered gun.

this turret started out op in the test server

then in the test server it got more expensive and impact and damage got decrease so it became less op

tanki then lowered the price a bit in the test server

now the turret enters the game and its so underpowered and it sucks donkey balls

so basically it went from overpowered to underpowered

it was addictive to use at first now I can't stand 5 minutes with it

Vulcan does great at long range pressure, but was that its purpose?

I think so. It was probably meant to put down lots of suppressive fire from a distance, to keep enemies in cover and destroy those who are caught in the open, something a machine gun would do in real life as well.

M0 Vulcan deals close to no damage against my M2 Dictator, so I laugh a little when I see someone try to shoot me with that. Especially from a distance. M2 Vulcan, on the other hand, is something to watch out for as you get closer. It eats away your health pretty quickly, although the somewhat low impact force means your aim won't be messed up much.

It honestly was presented more as a strafing weapon meant for quick bursts IMO. The afterburn and the "gyro" effect just make it look like that...
