Vulcan is the most important player on any team.

Vulcan can take out many tanks before being taken out...when at a distance.

It's downside is it turns slowly which gives Freeze and Flame a big advantage at short ranges.

But seriously, I often jump into games where a team is getting beat and Vulcan changes the whole game.

They are also terribly annoying and piss off people because the rapid fire on the armor over and over and over again really gets annoying.

If you had a clan with 4 Vulcans....you would do quite well.

^I tend to agree. Even with reduced damage, Vulcan is still a powerful presence on the battlefield. That constant fire draws the attention of the enemy and can serve as a valuable distraction.

But gone are the days when noobs like me can take first place with it.

Who doesn't agree thatupdate was overnerf. Overheating time: 5,53 vs (6,38 + 0,815 ~) 7,2 seconds. I counted overheating resistance and time before overheat. On wiki I didn't even see that stat. I counted that is 23%(13%) nerf. On damage i calculated 13% nerf (455 vs 522). Damage before overheating: 2516 vs 3758 (3330 if I misunderstood time before overheat stat) . So difference is 33%(24%). That makes very big difference, even, if you are more time availible to be shot. I wanted to say that update was overnerf. I think that medium hulls should remain 1 bullet(whatever it is) kill.

That is so bad in open maps like Polygon, where I usually camp somewhere.

This style of just sitting somewhere and keeping a rock on the spacebar is exactly the thing the vulcan nerf was designed to reduce.

Try moving around.

Does anyone have a kind word to say about the m1 alteration? ... better horizontal rotation at the expense of vertical reach.

It would be useful for flat maps and most small maps since you wouldn't need the vertical aiming.

I do it if I don't spawn somewhere up. But turning turret while shooting is so hard when sb attacks from behind. Because of nerf, this is now only quite effective way to do for me. I get beated by most of turrets on medium/heavy hulls, when in close combat. Vulcan is pretty useless in long range. Vulcan is designed for quite open fields. When to make it horrible almost everywhere, then why to have this turret? Situation is similar to firebird.

Perhaps my problem is that I am new to vulcan. But being more mobile usually dosn't help in maps like polygon

Ahh there's the answer. You're just new to the turret. It plays differently than all the others.  There are days I am all thumbs with it... but then other days it you feel like superman. My advice is to avoid the cliche mode of standing still glowing red from sustained fire with or w/o a pet Isida to help you.  Learn to fire a reload or two then shift spots.

Learn to start the spin-up before you go around a corner  ... if no one's there yo can always stop shooting. :)

You can also speed up your rotation by spinning your hull BEFORE you start spinup. This is what  imean about re-learning the whole process.  It' sorta backwarfds from reacting with a smoky.

All the above add up to why maybe you should try a faster hull than you are using.  If yo uget the knck for it yo ucan be quite powerful and ... few people are used to fighting a dancing vulcan at shoter ranges. :)

Good luck but whatever yo d play a combo you like.

Ok, before I start, I am just a missioner... I do my daily missions and keep going.   I am part of a clan, but really don't do much with them.   I don't have time or care to read all the forums and details about every aspect of game play and have been playing for about 3 years.   I have built up my tank combo (vulcan and viking), mainly through MU's over that span.  i have other m3 turrets that my clan told me I needed, but I rarely use them and only bought them because they were on sale at the time.

Today, after saving (and buying a little) I had 369,000 crys going into the "MU Sale" I was able to take my m3 vulcan from 20 to 44 ... at 50% off!  This frustrated me.... I thought that should get me more, and made me start looking for pages like this that showed the costs of stuff.

My thoughts?  I AM DONE WITH TANKI!    What on God's earth would make the owners of this game think that I would spend 950,000+ crys to MU my turret from one level to the next.   Are you insane?!?!?!

I am tired of having to buy drugs each week just to keep up with all the players at this level who drug constantly and the cost if nickel and diming me.

So, if this is your idea of what I want to do with my free time.... IT IS NOT!

Expect much less gameplay from me until I use up some of the supplies. Don't ever expect me to PAY AGAIN!

That's why I put a few turrets to 25/50 rather than investing in one, but vulcan is quite versatile.

I just got vulcan m2. I am glad that i did not buy it with my 30% discount, since i got it at 50% off. I am using it with m2 hornet.

I got it too and I hate it. I'm a pretty dedicated Wasp/Smokey user, grabbed a Viking and a M2 Vulcan in the latest sale.

Meh. I guess its good up close but its not a killer at range, the intermediate nature of its firing rate, not a fan of this turret relative to other guns. They need to up its power at distance.

Why? Vulcan is not something to be used with a light hull. Use hunter or titan if you want to do well with it.

Was this your first time using Vulcan?Because it takes a while to get good with it.You probably just weren't used to it.It's really good in the hands of someone who knows how to use it well.

It's a (close-)mid range turret. When you're experienced with it, this turret will kick ass. I just bought M2 and I'm the top player most of the time (with Mammoth M2).

Remember in any team game you get exp and Cry for doing damage even if you don't get the kill.  Vulcan is great for spraying damage around.

Vulcan is the worst turret for 1 vs 1. Dictator is fast ebough for me. I can handle vulcan well, when behind corners. Problem is then, when I am in direct fight with sb. I feel like a superman very rarely. It took many hours to learn basics of vulcan. Abd more hours to gwt feeling
