Vulcan is the absolute king of sandbox. :o

Yes. Not too big, not too small, quite open. Shooting angle also helps while you hunt down the tanks on the upper level.

And then there's when all the XP/BP players start telling you to switch because they're getting wrecked.

I wonder if it's a problem for Vulcan players equipped with Faster horizontal tracking (M1 alt.) to shoot from the lower floor to the upper level. Is it low enough for shooting up to it? Has anybody tested this? If it's no big thing for it, then the M1 alteration seems to be perfect for this map.

It's probably only a problem if you have a really short hull like Viking or Wasp.Dictator would probably be best for that situation since it can shoot over the upper platform anyways.

They nerfed it way too much. I don't even use it anymore. That has happened a bunch. People think a turret is OP and start griping, tanki nerfs it, everyone then gripes about a different turret. Why not just leave everything alone and let the players figure out what THEY want to play instead of forcing them to buy more equipment. Same thing happened with thunder 2 years ago. Just about the time I got it to M4 and could kill everything they nerf it. It is the tanki way. Mess with the players until they quit or reach legend status where they can get points with any turret.

Vulcan was nerfed because it's good on some of the most popular maps (Polygon, Sandbox). I find this logic questionable. If you think your turret is not competitive enough on some of the maps then don't play them. I don't cry because a Freeze kicks my ass on Arena or a Railgun on Monte Carlo.

Tanki devs can't make perfect balance for ALL MAPS. Every turret can dominate some of the maps, while struggling on others.

Exactly right. :) Vulcan is good on large, open maps against players who can't make use of cover. Maybe it was a bit OP but not to the extent where it needed to be nerfed that much.

They nerfed Firebird and Freeze because they were OP on all the popular maps like Noise and Polygon.  *facepalm*

Now those maps are just as equally created as Bridges and you end up with weak and useless Firebird.

If the players didn't always play on mindless crystal-grinds like Polygon maybe they wouldn't complain so much about the "OP Freeze", etc.

I played some 1v1 Sandbox CTF. First opponent was a guy with Rail M1. He asked me to change to XP/BP. I told him that I don't have that and I can quit if he want to play XP/BP format. He wanted me to stay so I played with Vulcan. After some time he gave up because I destroyed him over and over.

It is totally different for lower ranks. I have M3 firebird mu'ed to 25/50. I rule a lot of maps. I have heard some people talking about hammer being weak. I have M4 sitting on M4 Viking and I expect to get 3-5 kills before I get killed every single trip. It is over the moon OP at that level. But I don't even use Vulcan anymore they nerfed it into oblivion at the M3/M4 level. I don't use M4 isida anymore either - same reason.

I'd appreciate some buff for Vulcan too.

"Mindless crystal-grinds"

You got that right. But vulcan was a little op. I just got it, and it seems plenty powerful, considering how cheap it is. It also seems to have a slight afterburn, and can damage targets right after they round corners.

It's weird how it does that.Lots of times when someone kills me they'll die like half a second later if I was shooting them.

It's just Vulcan lag. Vulcan bullets curve around corners and go through walls.

But that's nothing compared to Railguns. They'll miss me by a mile, the shot will pass clean overhead, or I will see it go through a house and I will take damage anyway.

Vulcan is bad in large maps. Even in large open maps. Weak damage % is 25% so rven in Poolygon I need 7-10 seconds to kill medium m3 (without vulcan protection), when I am shooting from uppest side to other side of map. There are too many maps, where vulcan is horrible, few maps, where ok. And NO MAPS GOOD for vulcan. It's damage is so weakt, that it is bad/ok everywhere. I didn't notice freeze being OP, fire was good.

I didn't see vulcan dominating in any maps. And I haven't still seen it. So nerf was kind of surprise to me.

Try 1v1 on Sandbox against any other turret.

Try a heavy hull and play on medium maps. Aleksandrovsk is a good one for start.

Also it's good to have some support. Teaming with another Vulcan or Isida can do wonders.

And you can start collecting crystals for the M1 version if you like it. Don't waste it on protection modules or paints.

Reds - Totally wrong for me. In blue team there are much better turrets, In red team, I have only 1 good spot for vulcan, You must have been lucky to see vulcans dominate there.

Orange - wrong

Yellow - Not so surely dominating. It must be rare, I dominate so rarely in polygon with vulcan m3. But with yellows, vulcan is ok, but surely not the best

With greys I don't know what to say about these, haven't played with vulcan on these maps
