How about this solution:

Rise maximum damage by 5-10%

Make minimum damage half of maximum damage.

Lower weak damage to 10%

Rise the overheating rate to a certain point enough to prevent Vulcan wars and Vulcan/Isida domination.

And make healed tanks glow.

Vulcan has only one damage parameter, there is no max. and minimum damage so it cannot be changed. Maybe you are talking of the range of max./min. damage, but I doubt that this will be changed, because it is equal to the one of Thunder and Smoky, and a change would make the range system less standardized. So I think either make the Vulcan mechanic easier, or buff the damage or extend the overheating time are the options. A damage buff seem to be the best imho. But as I_already_won once pointed out, it also depends if the devs want to have a constant firing turret with rather medium damage or a burst attacker with high amount of damage for a short time.

Not so long ago, any mid or long range battle (at M3 or M3+ level) you would see lots tankers using racoon. There was good reason for this - vulcan was scary. Mammoth vulcan's were not to be messed with, a sentry holding down lanes of the map. However now vulcan is barely worth using in my opinion. I have vulcan m4 and against m4 vikings I often find myself doing less than 100 damage if they have double armour, which is rubbish considering vik m4 has 3000 health. The time to kill against heavier hulls or an opponent with any protection against you is so poor you rarely get this kill before they reach cover or you die.

Old vulcan was too strong really, especially trying to fight the infuriating 'pocket isida' which I am sure you can relate to. However, I now find myself never feeling like using vulcan as it is just weak really, and never feeling compelled to take racoon or africa to ward off the damage of this turret. How often do you really see it being used effectively at high ranks anymore?

Twins has seen a series of buffs which make it the preferred 'brick on keyboard' supressive weapon. On top of this the alterations available for vulcan are fairly weak where as the twins counterparts can make it a very versatile weapon. Do you think the vulcan has started to die out? And do you think it needs buffing again, and if so how would you want to see it buffed?

I think that it needs an small increase in max damage but a larger increase in minimum damage - restoring in to the long range machine gun it once was. Perhaps a decrease in the firing time before self damage or similar could be adjusted to stop it become the  OP monster it once was.. However I would like to see it become a more viable weapon.

What do you think about this weapon at m3 and m4 since the autumn update?

Thanks :D

Agree. Vulcan alternations make that turret even worse that it is stock. May'be m1 alteration isn't bad in flat maps like desert, but it isn't worth that 50k.

I remember, when Vulcan used to knock off my hull and turret easily when I was wasp. I think Vulcan needs to get bigger impact force too. That can help Vulcan become competitive turret again. I gave up on using vulcan, because it wasn't competitive compared to other m3 turrets.

I meaned wasp as an opponent to Vulcan, who didn't understand me

Vulcan has its great impact, due to which it is not easy to control it with light hulls like wasp and hornet .....

so it is suggested to take medium hulls which have both speed and armor and weight

can it shoot actual bullets that dont change course with the turret?

also can they not magically appear and disappear when you start firing and stop firing?

Misuse of Vulcan.

Since I have played Tanki Online, I have seen so many players who are great Vulcan enthusiasts. When those players fire Vulcan, they fire a little bit and then stop firing. That's not the proper way on using Vulcan.

When using Vulcan, keep firing your bullets and make sure you have an Isida player on your team healing your butt as your hull takes damage by the overheating effect. If you don't have an Isida team mate by your side, use a repair kit.

If the Isida player needs experience points to rank up or complete a daily mission, or super mission, then make sure that your Vulcan team member keeps on firing his bullets. As you heal your Vulcan team member with Isida, you gain experience points, so its good for both of you (Isida and Vulcan) players.

Please keep in mind that Vulcan is a turret that behaves exactly like a machine gun. That's right. A machine gun that is engineered to continuously fire powerful bullets at long range. Vulcan is a long range weapon, so use it wisely by keeping your finger on the "Spacebar" button and keep firing. Your Isida team member will save your day by healing your arse.

I am telling you the truth.

I have seen so many players misusing Vulcan, because they fire a bit then stop.

Vulcan is made to shoot continuously.

An Isida must be on the same team as Vulcan to heal him/her when taking self damage by overheating.

That is the right way to play vulcan. You want to minimize the amount of self-damage.

You don't go around in a Thunder and shoot right in front of someone, you back off to minimize the self damage, or just don't shoot at all if you are about to die.

Vulcan is different. Self damage for Vulcan is not a problem in team battles because Isida team mates can heal you as you take damage.

You know, we don't all have personal Isida servants. ;)

I know that. If you don't have an Isida healing your butt, then you should consider on using a repair kit if you have one at hand.

Sounds like you need to play with twins;)

Maybe Riddler can help me with that. It sounds fun to spend an entire battle behind a fat Vulcan like me.  :P

I have Twins M3+, so I do play with Twins quite frequently.

That one can certainly fire non-stop with great effect...I use the alteration that removes self-damage however.

I bought this yesterday(M1) and it is the BEST for camping. With titan this thing can fire for a really long time and (along with twins) this will become my main weapon.I will focus on this quite a lot :D

It's good for camping with a heavy hull, but make sure to stay close to an area with lots of targets and open ground. Camping at the corners is not going to work; Shaft is much more effective for that.

They nerfed Vulcan to the point where I don't even play it anymore. Mine is m3 +1/2  and I still get killed constantly. Ridiculous. Unless I have isida on my butt I get out change to something else. You know that is the thing about tanki, you never know what the next "patch" brings. You spend all the money to purchase and upgrade then they just take it away. And they don't even consider it stealing.

Is it really that weak now?

I'm looking at getting railgun, hammer or vulcan and I remember it being really strong not so long ago.

I'm a Vulcan player (200+ hours) and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who isn't already skilled with it. It's effective in the right hands and on the right map. Get Hammer.

That gun over heats too much so you can kill your self if that happens in DM mode youl loose a kill!!!!

The overheat is not that big of a deal if you have a heavy or even medium hull, you just fire until the target is dead and then stop so the overheat doesn't get too intense
