Vulcan, is the best gun in the game (opinion)

 

Why I say this? Because it has no reload and also the damage and increase over a certain amount of time, if you see a double damaged Vulcan you are dead, and it’s also very hard to knock up Vulcans aim.

Vulcan also has over heating but with firebird protection at 50% it would be enough to withstand that for awhile.

My Vulcan is m3 since I mued it from m2

Isida + Vulcan = unkillable

Vulcan, is one of the best, if not the best gun in the game (opinion)

Not sure what do you mean by that, damage increase over time?

Ah - I don't play rugby much.  Not a fan of that mode - only play if I get a decent crystal reward - and even then I switch any mission requiring "goals".

That's a shame... I play RGB mode all the time or CTF since it's fast paced.

Just find the mode... odd. Passing a football in a tank game?  :huh:

 

And with one server (multiple languages) it just seems a more complex team battle...

 

Much prefer CTF & CP.

What is the best hull for this gun? I tried mammoth but its slow, tried viking but dies fast.

Something stable preferably.  For medium Hunter probably > Viking.

 

But also depends on M-level and map and game-style.

What upgrades is your Viking at?  M1 10/10?  M2 stock?  M2+?

 

Defender?  Heavier Hull.

Attacker?  Lean toward medium, unless map is smaller.

 

Mammoth is slow but Titan is not a lot faster.

Wasp if by 'best' you mean 'a hella lotta fun'. If you can accept the fact you will flip over a lot.

If your a defensive type of player, mammoth, since mammoth and vulcan works well because of the health vulcan will be allowed to over heat for awhile, take firebird protection aswell so it can reduce the over heating damage.  Titan is good though aswell, its faster then mammoth and it has alot of health.

On my high acc ( this 1 ) i got it on Titan ... fast enough for my playstyle and maps . On my lower acc (M2) i got it on hunter and thats a lot of fun ( hunter is getting ready to use on high acc also ) . I use it on the hunter as assault rifle , straight on attack , driving the hunter as aggressive as possible .

 

I think but there are exceptions , that vulcan suits these hulls best . I'd like a bit of armour since you cant kill in single shot . Light hulls can be a lot of fun but shooting while driving around like a madman and keeping your lock on enemy tank , requires very good driving /turret movement skills . Other hulls to consider are viking , i consider it worse then hunter because of the height . The mammoth is good when playing defence , titan is about same but especially got less frontal profile . Titan can be used everywhere on field while mammoth is for me more strict defence .

No re-load would be called "continuous fire" - which is what Vulcan does.  At least until it explodes from overheating...

I want to take a moment to remember the old Vulcan. The one that would flip tanks on flat ground.

The damage nerf and the impact force, though they make me sad, are not infuriating. What is infuriating is the nerf of the gyroscope. WHY? What was the point of that??

So their aim could be disrupted by impacts., That was the reason given. For my wasp combo that change was a boon. I think. It has been aloong time and the change was made not too long after I took up vulcan.

 

IMO Vulcan is one of the least favorite turrets to have on an enemy team. They whittle you down from afar. But it is a "legitimate" least favorite. Not like Magnum which is just an OP piece of crap design.

Yeah Vulcan I think is underestimated these days.  Pretty happy with it at m2.

 

And I agree with Onion - they should not have nerfed the gyroscope so much.  Impact needed nerfing - it was silly.  But gyroscope?

The Vulcan nerf was epic. Damage reduced, impact reduced massively, vertical firing arc reduced greatly (ppl forget that one) AND the gyro change. It was the Magnum of the day. It is no wonder usage dropped so much and the weapon deemed "worthless". At the time I said the bump of weak damage to 50% was of little benefit. I was wrong about that. 50% damage anywhere w/in sight and long constant firing makes enemies miserable. Even if you do not kill them yourself they are being worn down. If a team mates finishes them off you do get exp for it.

 

As for the gyro change, before uit was almost impossible to throw off a Vulcan from hitting you. Now with Smoky I can even if for a split second. But that saves me from enough damage that the Vulcan dies before I do. However the gyro nerf had an upside, at least for me in my nutty Wasp build. Now I can swing my aim quickly by turning my hull and weapon together.  Before the gyro would try to keep the muzzle pointed in the same direction even though the hull was turning.

 

On the other, other hand the gyro effect gives my lightweight wasp combo a sort of '2nd gravity" ... a sort of resistance you can use to sort of brace yourself when in a close-range melee fight. With full gyro that force was very strong.  You wouldn't tip as easlly because tipping means losing aim on the target and the gyro was having none of that. 

 

It is really hard to describe and it was quite long ago now. I remember changing the point of aim was very sluggish but once you got that muzzle swung around the enemy found you a bulldog to get off. Now the muzzle swings faster but you're far less stable.

 

But on the other, other, other hand when I rented the m1 alteration that even further removes gyro force I hated it.  That stability provided by even the nerfed gyro does SOMETHING to help keep my unstable wasp build more stable.  Muzzle rotation was TOO fast and the combo too unstable ... and for that I lose even more vertical arc?  Nope. No sale. Never no how. Not for me.

 

Well that was long and dull. I guess the take home message is the gyro effect is really complicated in the ways it shows up.  The bottom line is the weaker gyro is a net benefit to my Wasp build. But lose more gyro effect and it would be a net less. On heavy hulls .. I have no idea how much.the gyro nerf matters, pro or con. But there probably is some pro mixed in with the con.

Well , i have been seeing some Vulcan's 

And they were good , but not as good when it was relaesed

 

And it still is one of the best choice for defence , specially in open maps

 

I hope the coming rebalnce make it more balnced

IDK , there has been rumors that after MM

there will be a re-balance

I think it will take 1 year  :(

Since the devs are intrested in Drone making  ;)
