Count me in. I've actually encountered @TheCongoSpider once with his legendary combo, he's exceptionally well with it. I am also interested in watching him playing as a spectator.

I remember that battle, I have a screenshot of it. That was one of the more mid-tier ones though. ?

 

It was frustrating trying to sneak past you.

Was rewatching the ones I recorded. I guess they're fit for consumption, but I wasn't able to properly circle anyone for demonstration. The ones I post are the mid-tier and god-tier battles I have with it. There are battles where I would have done much better if I equipped Dictator or Mammoth, but it's best to go with the assumption that Wasp Vulcan is the only combo you have so you power through. Will post some in a bit but for now, you can watch a past recording here.

 

Edit: also, I objectively play better when I'm not recording because I can get 60 FPS when I'm not recording. When I record, I get dropped to 30 FPS maximum. So the quality of the gameplay drops with it and because of certain lag spikes, I lose some duels.

I think I also need to play him aswell, would be interesting him. Or with him, two vulcans shooting one person is just insane.

I have mixed feelings  this looks more like a nerf to vulcan to me? hitting ur opponent for a far is nerfd for sure and locking on a moving light hull looks impossible 

Splash damage/rico effect is a small plus but as a vulcan user i dont think it's needed 

If this the "new" vulcan don't know what to say guess wait and see...

That would of course justify the price increase of Vulcan ? And actually it looks pretty cool

So you saw the videos. Will just give a rundown of some of my thoughts that I had during the battle. 

 

Sandal CP. The first one I recorded.

 

 

1:07: I was going towards them to place my bomb. But then I realised that a minute had already passed in the battle and the Railgun Hunter had gotten at least 4 kills (as I had seen in the killfeed), so it was more than likely that he had his Overdrive ready to disable it, so I decided not to drop it. After I died, I checked the scoreboard to confirm my suspicions and confirmed that he 100% had his Overdrive ready there. In hindsight, I should have dropped it and made him disable it. 

 

2:17: The disadvantage of using RAT shows itself here. 

 

3:04: I had suspected that he saw me coming so I waited. Turned out that I baited his shot somehow (unless he was aiming for the player behind my camera). 

 

4:19: This encounter was unfortunate. I don't know if you guys have this but I have a bug where my damage randomly cuts off when I shoot someone using Smoky (you will see in a later recording). I try to avoid all Smokies no matter what hull I'm using. 

 

4:35: Was gonna drop the bomb to surprise the Hunter Railgun but I died right before I pressed it. 

 

5:33: This was a smooth encounter that I'm used to doing.

1:05: was in a rough patch here. Tackling Vikings up close like that is a gamble. I resort to fibonacci spiraling to deal with Vikings but I had no open area to do so. 

 

2:37: Went after the Nuclear Supply because I suspected the Viking Gauss might leave the dome to go get it. 

 

4:23: This is how I come back to haunt the enemies who ignore me after an engagement. 

 

4:41: Nice. 

 

Solikamsk ASL. I usually don't do well in ASL. But I generally do well in Solikamsk. 

 

 

 

0:20: The wall messed me up. 

 

2:46: Situation: I died to his Viking Overdrive right before a bomb killed him.

 

3:04: And that is why RD Railguns are a pain. 

 

4:59: Situation: I died to his Viking Overdrive right before a bomb killed him...again.

 

5:10: One of the things I hate when playing ASL on the blue team. 

 

 

Red Alert RGB. Not the best map for Wasp Vulcan. I'd use Dictator here. 

 

 

 

 

1:45: That hurt. 

 

3:31: I tried to keep him within the bomb's blast radius but failed. But that actually works a lot of the times I do it to enemies. Works best on Dictators and heavy hulls. 

 

3:59: Had no clue he used a repair kit there. Totally blind. 

 

5:12: That was bad impulse control. I just wanted to be launched in the air. 

 

Molotov CTF. I do well in Molotov regardless of my hull. Only Molotov ASL is a problem for me with Wasp. This was a short game. We were already losing so I just tried to see how well I could do before the battle ended. 

 

 

 

 

 

0:08: An example of the fixed damage thing I get with Vulcan occasionally. 

 

0:51: That was a Subcalibre Rounds Thunder shot that also flipped me. Very lethal to my balance and most often unavoidable for me. 

 

1:27: Free 30% Overdrive charge for me. They were all using their Overdrive at the same time which made it even better. 

 

Forest SGE. I usually do very well in Forest, namely RGB and CTF. I generally don't do well in any SGE. In SGE, I use Dictator. This one wasn't too bad. 

 

 

 

0:28: probably the highest damage for a mine i ever did. And in the worst possible scenario - where it wouldn't have mattered. 

 

0:50: Damage randomly cut off here, allowing the Firebird to kill me. 

 

1:09: I was shooting at sutank (Smoky + Titan). Do you notice how for a split second, my damage cuts off? 

 

 

Cologne CP: I do fairly well here for it being a cramped map. But there were 3 Railguns on their team. Not a good sign.

 

 

 

 

0:08: I turn my camera like that to gauge the situation before engaging since I move so fast with Wasp. 

 

1:37: I saved myself  from flipping last second there and just dropped the bomb. Railguns can play gymnastics with me. 

 

3:20: Bullying a poor Wasp. 

 

4:09: Disadvantage of RAT shows itself here again. 

 

4:48: I use the walls and enemy tanks as springboards. Because Thunder was changed to a projectile turret, I can now do this against them with less fear of flipping.

 

All of those could have been better. The maps could have been better as well.  Overall, performance dips when i record. When it doesn't and I get solid FPS, I can get scores like these more comfortably (these are recent - 2-3 days ago):

Nice, I watched and read through a few of them. Vulcan Wasp doesn't seem to be a bad combo in m2 ranks. In my opinion, vulcan in general is under rated, and players should definetely give it a go. I'd say it's a high skill cap turret, due to the overheating, the close range difficulties etc. but if a knowledgable player uses it, it can be quite effective, as you demonstrated. And lol, nice nest of spoilers, couldn't forget to mention that.

There is very little angst and hysteria about the move to projectiles here. Given the level of angst and hysteria about everything else TO related, it's rather surprising ?

I also face the same problem with Smokies. Today I was grouping with my clanmate, I encountered a smoky+hornet he had DA and I had DD with my DictatorMK6+GaussMK7 I fired a full scope and did around 700 dmg only, I said to my friend "i think that smoky has 50% against me" he replied "no, he has 25% against gauss" I was like 'I fired 2 full scoping shots (with DD) on that mere hornet and he's still alive without a repair kit'. Usually I do around 950-1200 dmg on someone with 25%-30% protection.

I've lost many duels because of this bug. Sometimes the Smoky should have been dead more than 5 seconds ago but the damage keeps cutting off and allowing them more time to kill me. From experience, iI theorised that it was happening when my bullets hit the Smoky turret itself, because that's what it looked liked when I try to observe and keep aim on them at the same time.

Vulcan is my best turret. I earned many crystals by using vulcan and mamoth with Incediary band alt.

I'm not alone, I'm playing with my 2 isida friend. the one use isida with titan and the one use isida with dictator. That's why I got many crystals in some hours play.

Please change incendiary band.  I don’t care if you remove some of the downsides, just don’t make the Vulcan set you to maximum temperature because they grazed you for half a second.  They can sweep across the entire map and set just about everyone on fire without even trying.  The Vulcan won’t get guaranteed kills either, while everyone is on fire, making it no fun for everyone.

Way too many downsides.. unpopular turret because they know its mostly junk.

Doesnt do well in any range, slow turning speed while shooting, it takes "10 years" to even start shooting(ur dead by then), overheating..

I would like to politely yet firmly disagree. It's playable enough at the moment, it is just a matter of adapting your style.

That would be just horrible - absolute trash.  Gauss projectile is crazy slow and not very efficient. But at least it does sig damage if it hits.

They wanted to make it "more like a real Vulcan cannon"... but give it a goofy slow velocity?  The real autocannon fires at over 1000 m/s.
