...after using it further on the test server, I now think that this thing isn't half bad. Mounted on a Hunter, you can provide lots of covering fire for your teammates from a distance while running away from enemies that you don't want to engage.

 

The damage is a bit weaker than I think it should be, but I suppose a few micro-upgrades will fix that. I'll consider getting it on the next sale.

Is Vulcan ever going to get any "kickback"????  It is crap on the battlefield, compared to Rico which has much lower numbers at M1. Either fix Vulcan, or fix the charts, because something is wrong.

 

Oh yea, Hammer turrets, are still invulnerable to Vulcan.

I cant get used to the controls. I shoot wait for it to fire then it completely missing the target forget the controls and the hull turns when I need it to move. tanki PLEASE make the original controls available aswell.great turret overall. I WANT MORE TURRETS!!

vulcan way to op now :3

Please elaborate, because, at it's current settings, it cannot kill Hammers if it is shooting the turret, which is it's default target. You must only be facing people who have found good strategies to using it, and, every gun has other hull+turret combos it is excellent at defeating. For instance, I use Vulcan+Titan and I usually always win if the other team has a lot of railguns, which is nice, because railgun used to have no equals if you knew how to use it like me and the pros do. However, Vulcan is hopeless if you come up from behind with a Firebird, and slightly less and more hopeless if you do the typical death circle technique with Freeze. The only difference when fighting a Freeze with a Vulcan is that the Vulcan takes no burning damage if it's frozen so, this is especially nice against Freeze+Dictator, Mammoth, or Titan. Also, the Vulcan's bane can be a Thunder+fast hull used effectively. This is what ends up happening; Thunder person is near an obstacle (Building, wall, rock, et cetera) and then the person shoots, duck and cover; shoot, duck and cover. And since the Vulcan needs a warm-up charge to fire, the Thunder is facing a helpless opponent; and this is normally used by Thunders who are facing a Vulcan+slow hull. But, of course, this never works if the Thunder is cornered and the Vulcan knows it. If a Vulcan+Heavy Hull has close to full health, they will win a still match every single time, the exception being if the defender has double something or other, which can be countered by the Vulcan drugging in response.

Vulcans also almost always perform well against long-range turrets such as other Vulcans, Shaft, and Railgun, due to the fact that Vulcan itself is long-range in a sense. However, just like the Thunder tactics, a long-range turret can easily counteract this by ducking under cover after every shot, and, as I have come to notice, the Vulcan is usually squashed in a long-range battle if the long-range gun is with a Viking hull. However, this doesn't matter at mid-range battles where the Vulcan performs the best, usually this advantage is credited to a strong hull. At short and very long-range open battle concepts, the Vulcan is terrible, or so I have observed. Now, on the map Iran, there is an exception. Even though it's short-range, close-quarter style battle, the Vulcan+strong hull performs amazingly. But, the key is never really going into the street maze because it is there that everyone will kill you due to a variety of creepy factors; stay on the edge, even though it's wide-expanse battling, it doesn't matter. There aren't any places for the other tanks to hide, so they get an onslaught of projectiles and die almost every time. It's open battle, but mid-range battling.

 

Hope you like this exposure of the Vulcan's weaknesses and strength, it may help you win almost every match you go into, that is, IF the players are equals in every other way.

I've dominated a lot of battles with vulcan, many people are ignorant and won't accept its a perfectly good turret that requires great skill to use

 

Its either 

 

Wrong map

Bad hull and bad timing

Bad control

 

Once you eliminate all of this you will enjoy it :p

i saw vulcan m3 at my high account in a battle,he destroyed my dictator m3 in 5 seconds >_>

You know, that's actually supposed to happen. It takes approximately four seconds to unload the Vulcan before burning, and this is, even at my rank, always enough to kill Hunter, Dictator, Wasp, and Hornet without being burned even slightly; that is, IF the Vulcan hits you with every bullet, and I'm surprised it took a whole five seconds, especially at M3.

1. The controls are so annoying! I almost never used to use the Z and X buttons, so now it makes this so much harder. Maybe the devs can make an option in Settings where we can change Vulcan control so it turns WITH the tank ;)

3. Besides the controls, this gun is great! My friend and I are using this glitch-type thing in Deathmatch where we both use Viking, and I use Freeze-protection paint, he uses Freeze, and I use Vulcan! We go around, he protects me, and I use the Vulcan to wreck peeps, and when my tank overheats, he just shoots me for 2 seconds and it pretty much goes away! NOTE: Devs should probably fix this somehow, but for now I'm gonna exploit  :P  :ph34r:

#1 should never be developed imo, and #3 is not a glitch, it's more of an in-game exploit.

Yea , friendly freezes cool a Vulcan. I am wondering if enemy freezes do the same thing , but they still freeze your tank. It is no glitch.

Also now that you bring it up, you wearing a freeze paint , might be negatively affecting how much a friendly freeze cools you off.  Also now additionally; Does using Isida paint affect friendly Isida? IDK 

 

Beside having a freeze tank with your Vulcan tank, you can also use an Isida and do the same thing, the Isida will heal cooling damage. Optimally would be a heavy Tank w/Vulcan and  support by an Isida and a freeze. That "Tri-Combo" might well allow a Vulcan to fire continuously for a very long time. i.e. long enough to kill any and all visible enemy tanks plus any that show or pop-up. This also allow your friendly freeze to wander off and kill enemy, as they aren't getting XP for keeping you cool other than 1xp per dead enemy tank. Isida could the the same thing. Maybe 2 Vulcans and 1 freeze and 1 Isida might be a real power 'Quad" combo. Something to try if I ever go Clan.

 

I've been trying to find such "trifectas" in team matches , but the best I have done so far, is to have one or the other tag along. Which does wickedly as long as it lasts.

Guess I need to find some willing players in chat. But it looks hard to find "GOOD" team matches were 2 or 3 slots are open for the same side.

This is a game program error. Vulcan cannot damage Hammer turrets. There are multiple complaints in multiple topics on this. 

Have not seen any comments as to when a fix will be done, or if they care about it yet.

Yes I am very well aware of that, and if they decide to post-pone this fix till Unity like every other update, then it will be way too beneficial for anyone using the Hammer to play. In fact, it'll essentially be hacking like it already is. GET YOUR STUFF RIGHT THE FIRST TIME DEVELOPERS.

ok, i hugely underestimated this turret...it literally kills any M3s in seconds..i cant believe the dps specified in garage, M3 dictators are killed in 3-4 seconds...they need to reduce the firing rate..
