Wow the damage of Vulcan was reduced on M3/M4 by ~18%. The time until overheat on M4 is reduced by ~14%  :o

That's definitely a too strong nerf.

You only have to see how many Vulcans, together with a big hull, dominate most battles to realise it is too powerful and spoils the battles where they dominate.  Those who choose to spend loads of money to get the biggest and best are ruining a game which should be just be a bit of fun.  I don't see that much of a change has been made to reduce its power nor to the amount of time it takes to overheat.

Everyone's overreacting about the vulcan nerf.I've played with it after the update and the lower damage and overheating isn't that noticeable.

The damage nerf, I appreciate. But I feel the overheating should be a lot less or take a lot longer. It doesn't go with the feel of a "machine gun". Maybe an alteration will make it have more damage and impact force but decrease the time to overheat.

It's probably noticeable at higher Ms. A Africa LGC Module equipped tank will easily overrun it.

Overheating sucks. -_-

Luckily with maxed Badger T-F, it's much better.

It is noticeable. My K/D sinks like hell. Less overheating time is especially painful.

Vulcan attacking performance is only 75% of the old Vulcan. It means you'll have maximum of 75% of the kills you had before. And also more deaths because you can't destroy as many enemies before they can destroy you. Which means K/D is going down.

To have the 'feel' of a real minigun it should deplete its ammo very very quickly followed by a long re-load time. But that ain't fun in fast-paceed tank-on-tank action. :)  So we got over-heating.  Which is very machine-gun like too ...that is why mini-guns exist now that I think about it. The 6-7 barrels spread the heat out so higher firing rates ar possible.

Everyone  readin is alseep now. Zzz

For people who absolutely do not change one thing about their tactics yep.

As a newer Vulcan user was ust wondering what the reaction is here. Doesn't seem to be one.

First few games I did not notice much diferrnce. Next few games I did. The damage hit is pretty significant. And the shorter heat time is too. As a Wasp driver I do not put a rock on the spacebar.  Wasp/Vulcan was still fun to play though so that's the bottom line.

As a Vulcan/Titan user I can't really change my tactics. Maybe if my next hull is a medium one.

New Vulcan is just awful.  :( I don't mind the damage nerf that much (although I would appreciate a bigger buff for it next update time) but the shorter overheating time is just awful for me. I can't use hit and run tactics with Titan so I have to shoot continuosly when I'm under attack by a short-mid-range turret. Slower killing because of the damage nerf means more overheating even if they don't change the overheating time, but the two combined effects the turret very badly.

I totally agree with you. M3 vulcan is totally useless aganist legends. This was overnerf. They need to be buffed to almost same level. Overheat time is too slow and damage too small. I can't kill m3 medium hull in 1 bullet/ammo I think, which isn't normal

This is normal that vulcan is very good in open field. So for me this complaining isn't normal. With vulcan in maps with lots of corners is so hard to play. So Vulcan needs pre-update performance. There has to be balance in this 2 things, wo damage must be higher and over-heating time too.

But now it is bad in open field and useless terrible in maps with many corners or 1-1 situations where 1 can camp behind sth.

I use Wasp/Vulcan so  corners are my meat and potatoes. You gotta start your spin-up before you round the corner so you're just about to open fire ... and you do so if there's a target seen :)

The other thing to keep in mind is you do not have to kill the target outright (in team games). Wound many enemies and you will rack up points even if your team mates get the "kill" credit.

There is no doubt though the vulcan took a significant hit in damage output.

I've sort of noticed the nerf.

But here's the thing guys... at High rank, the effectiveness of a given turret in battle is not determined by minor buffs and nerfs but rather by the protection modules in use by the opposing team or DM players.

Let's take Vulcan as an extreme example. So the turret got a 25% nerf. If the enemies are wearing M3 modules with 35-50% protection against other turrets like Smoky, Twins, Thunder, and Rail, but wearing nothing against Vulcan, then Vulcan will work just fine. :)

Thanks. I think I will wait for christmas sales, on second thought.

If you like Vulcan get it. But happy for you, it is also a terrific choice for your level. Be sure to MU it up substantially when there are MU sales.
