Could it be one of @LittleWillie's accounts?

Saw someone in battle yesterday using wasp-vulcan and when I checked their profile it was the only combo they had

Could it be one of @LittleWillie's accounts?

SkittleWillie uses Wasp / Vulcan all the time. But that account has a lot of m0 stuff.... it used to be my 'tester' account.  It is a Brigadier but I think MM has dropped it in with Legends once or twice. But I am guessing it was someone else.  Tehre are a half dozen or so of use nuts. :)

Maybe

Two maps where vulcan  wasp used to do great are Parma and Deathtrack. I miss those.

Skylark, Deathtrack, Parma all big open maps where a Wasp can really gt around town.  Hose down the enemy from one spot, zip to another .... wide firing lanes.

Well not so much Parma.  Parma was great for hiding among the wall fragments on the bottom and raking enemy tanks on the raised border. That was probably he best wasp/viking map for me a least.

Kolhoz & Esplande were also good for Vulcan

For MM If you do not get thrown in to Tribute , Wolfenistein..... Vulcan can be used to top leader borad

I bought the rapid-spin up alt just because it will be months and months before I rank high enough to buy new equipment. I also had an idea it might maybe be more useful in the new module system,

Before the conversion I had 5 triple modules all with Fire and two other turrets. So I could take Fire, Rico, Twins, or Fire Rail, Thunder.  The fire was for vulcan overheating and the other two for the worst enemies that game.

But now we can pick and choose.  So I thought maybe the spin-up alt would allow me to not use the Fire module.  I could use a 3rd anti-enemy module instead.

I've tried it with my Wasp. It does spinning up fast but the overheating protection is not that noticeable. I haven't learned to use it to best effect but so far the assumtions seem to match the facts:  The 26^ loss of damage is more of a negative than the faster spin up  and firing times. Longer firing times do not help me as much as killing the enemy before he kills me.

THis thing seems as I suspecte. It is for the static heavy hull vulcan sitting on the base.

Suprisingly I can be pretty effective with Vulcan+dictator in non-pro battles, when I don't face legends. I like that With Vulcan I keep constantly shooting an dpeople can't use Rk against me effectively.

Maps like Poly, Bridges are really good for me, since I can sometimes get c over and have pretty wide area to shoot enemies

Some say Vulcan is unable to take care of itself in battle, but I say that it is a very capable turret. It's best fitted on a heavy hull.

Unable to take itself ?

No ofc , the best flag defending tutrret can take care itself

Mid-ranks works well on a Hunter too.

Especially in CP battles, where you can chew up targets across the map while capping a CP.

Also in ASL as a midfeild , It makes killing easy for team mate's

ASL is best for vulcan IMO CP and Rugby ain't bad. Sometimes CTF, when teamis defending too.

In ASL defence, continious fire can help when many enemies invading base. Especially in non-pro battles I like that enemies can't effectively use RK, when Under attack. This makes Vulcan rly good defender there.

Vulcan is good, when people get crowded in open-places, where are nowhere to hide.

I use dictator, bcoz I made 2016 a stupid mistake by buying stormbringer kit.

Hey bro

Yes the Continous fire makes it the best Mid defender For CTF & ASL

Even if we can not get the kill

We can make killing easy for team mates

OK. I bought the fast spinn up alteration for my Wasp and I have been forcing myself to use it from time to time. Sometimes I leave it on at the end of the day. The next day I've snuck up on a shaft and am pumping machine gun bullets into his hull from 1 inch away and he. just. won't. die?  Oh yeah...

Sp anyway you start thinking of how to leverage some soft of advantage from this alt to make up for the flat out YUGE -25% loss of firepower.

The longer time to overheat led me astray early. I was thinking along the lines that the heat would also not build up as fast once it got going. That is wrong. Once it gets going the heat hurts just as much just as quickly. You just get +50% more time before the hating begins.

What you soon learn though is the fast spin up and spin down COMBINES with that extra firing time to give you good heat performance. There is little penalty now to spinning down and resuming fire.  So you have t pay attention more. Longer bursts with shorter pauses can prevent the overheating pretty well. (There is less "dead time" when you are not shooting. That makes up some for the -25%.  )

This was one key thought because I almost always run with Fire protection for self-heating protection.  If Ithe alt keeps me frok over heating I can run a 3rd protection against the enemy. So this alt does offer potential here.

What else is there to leverage? WEll, the fast spin up might actually be the way to go in maps like Iran or Wolfenstein. You go arounfd a lot of corners. With this alt you can round the corenr and react to what you see a wee bit faster.

I also had a couple open-field close-quartes melees where the fast spin ups helped out. When you are clicking on the driving and dodging thing players just don't see that combo enough to anticipate the moves.  Players do not expect vulcans to circle strage them, eg. This alt allowed some really quick moves.

You can play peek-a-boo now. I was in a fight on Bridges in the lower level. I had killed a foe on a bridge from below but now a Titan/Smoky was bearing down. Worse Iwas already wounded with some supplies on cool down.  So I ran like mad circling the big bridge support. I was able to snap-shot the Titan by popping around the corner and getting off a burst before he shot back.  I know this was not something the Titan has seen before... neither had I.  Anyway I bought enough time that a pal Isida arriced on the scene to finish oiff the Titan and heal me up :)

So ... I have played with it and am finding ways that is is helkpful, sorta. This is a surprise to me but you can use it to fight and still kill at -25% DPS.  On the other had most times ... would I hace won anyway w/o using the alteration?  Except for the Titan duel I cannot say for sure the alt worked better.

All I can say is, the alt jas shown me enough I will keep using it at times. I always rated it junk but maybe it has a role after all.

I do not think Vulcan needs much. If a Vulcan is on you you usually have to stop what you were doing and find cover or die. If you find cover your hurt significantly. Vulcan might not kill always but one Vulcan can support team mates all over that map. But if it is to be tweaked I'd be happy with one of these or similar.

  •   +2 degrees more of downward vertical firing cone. (Yessssss....)
  •   +10% DPS. Weak damage goes from 50% to 45% (Close damage up / long range the same.)
  •   Some sort of more useful m1 alteration (Surprise me with utiliy.)

When I'm cornered and am fighting turret to turret, my Vulcan doesn't seem to do much damage, though I can see that I'm hitting the opposing tank, but if I move back a little then I can see I'm doing a lot more damage. How come I'm not doing much damage in very close quarters?

It certainly should dish out more damage closer. The other tank might have had double armor activated. Then it went off. That's my guess.

It would seem that way. I've been using Vulcan on this account very early in its career. I've yet to kill anyone when fighting turret to turret. But if I back off a bit, then I can see the numbers. But by this time, I'm too damaged to finish the kill.
