DPS isn't very good for stealing kills, much less a low DPS turret like vulcan. It might just be the worst turret for JGR, right behind fire and ricochet.

TBH rico is good , for JGR 

 

hmm that constant rate isnt that much help   

but after buff Fire isnt good for JGR ?

So I asked nives if the most recent firebird buff was supposed to affect Vulcan overheating effect. He said that it was a bug the devs are looking to fix it.

hopefully it is fixed soon, vulcan is very hard to use due to the insane afterburn damage

The problem wasn't damage, it's getting close to the juggernaut. You have to get to the juggernaut when it has no health and kill it or it will see you as a threat and kill you first. The reason freeze was so broken against it was the overwhelming amount of them combined with instant death if they get you from behind.

I played it couple of times on JGR . it depends on which map , like always . The trick is to keep your distance and let others get close to the JGR , if you attack from medium distance you hit constantly and you kill the JGR sometimes . The problem is that its a DM mode , so if you are aiming on the JGR others take shots on you and you die .

If the distance is too large , you are safer from others , but you dont do enough harm to the JGR and he is easily somewhere out of sight .

Only my rico helps being the JGR looks like i am not good with Stealing the kills with other turrets

Good to hear...now that I have enough playing time under the belt with the new afterburn effect it is MUCH worse on Vulcan than I thought. I normally shoot in 5 second bursts, but if you go over 6...half your health (titan m4) is over within a few second...makes it very hard to use in many games.

well if they increased self damage something tells me they're gonna buff some other aspect soon... gonna MU my vulcan module to 40% so I'll be prepard for the day it becomes OP, it'll probably happen very very soon

40% vulcan protection ready to cancel out the buff

Do you have either alt for the Vulcan?

If so, what do you think?

I have mine close to M4 and love playing with it...in spite of the low dps and afterburn. Totally excited to see how this will change game play with it:) Good luck to you!!!

The vulcan is my main weapon , i bought it when i became marchal and i loved it from the start . I bought it because not many users at that time and i tried it out on a 2nd account and i felt it was my weapon ( and i have now all weapons , on different accounts ) . Since it was said to be weak , i figured out , if i like it , and theres not many protection around , i still make very very good scores and thats what it does . I also tought that because many people considered it weak and wasnt used by many that it was 1 of the weapons which could be buffed . I was also right in that aspect . For me , allthough its DPS isnt the highest , it keeps on firing with high range and before the enemy knows hes getting hit , his health runs faster down then he thinks .

I do not have alt for vulcan because they do not seem good to me . A alt which i would like is ultra high firing rate ( DPS +50% orso ) , but overheating +50% as a downside . This is actually more like real gatling guns are used .

Now its time to look how its changed ... lets kill some ...

The damage is worth it, but that wind up is horrendous. I can deal with the decreased speed in rotation, and love the extra time before self damage. Obviously need some distance away from other tankers.

Did try 1 game , very high K-D at around 3 . Damage increase very noticable at higher distance . Turret rotation near 0 .  Overheating time +50% orso ? Spin up is indeed very slow ...

Need to use it different then i used to do , much more a large range weapon instead of medium range .I think this is a beast defender now .

They have ruined Vulcan.  By the time you get the barrels spinning target is either in your face or under cover.

 

They made it Rail, but without the high instant damage.

 

It's terrible on any map that does not have a LOT of open spaces.  Good luck in Industrial Zone...

they changed the vulcan. Start time is too long, rotation of turret is increased too. Recent updates only destroy the game in my opinion. You're trying to shoot and he's just kidding. If you're going to play a real game rather than an arcade, I think I'll play World of Tanks.

Tactics of vulcan is changed from offense to poor defense... have not chance against flame, twin,..etc

The point of this update was supposed to be a "fix" for Vulcan. was considered weak and messed up due to firebird afterburn tweak.

Or so we were led to believe.

Instead they made it so we have to spend 100k/50k in order to have the turret usable on any map other than highways or massacre.

 

Currently the turret is so slow it has no use on any map with cover - Sandal and Polygon being perfect example.

Shaft is better in melee with it's arcade shot. That is sad.

 

The delay before it actually starts firing feels like it takes 5 or 6 seconds. Which is interesting.

I know it seems like... F-O-R-E-V-E-R, but... is it really 5+ seconds? 

 

No wonder I've lost most of my health before I actually start to do damage.

Or someone else destroys the target.

 

This current Vulcan would be utter garbage in DMs... every single target would be dead before spin-up completed.

All of this could have easily been solved by having burn damage be based on the modification instead of temperature, but the devs of course had this brilliant idea to add m4 damage to m0 turrets and then instead of just fixing vulcan overheat they drastically change every parameter and make the turret even worse.

 

But the devs can't just increase damage, no, that would be boring. That's why freeze and thunder were never buffed, the devs need time to think about interesting ways to screw over balance.
