Weak gun

lol... the time for the turret to start firing is ridiculous and I don't notice any improvement with regards to damage. Another turret I will never be using.

 

Lol me 2 I'll never use it and ofcrse I'll never use striker n rail they are pretty weak junk lol

The point of this update was supposed to be a "fix" for Vulcan. was considered weak and messed up due to firebird afterburn tweak.

Or so we were led to believe.

Instead they made it so we have to spend 100k/50k in order to have the turret usable on any map other than highways or massacre.

 

Currently the turret is so slow it has no use on any map with cover - Sandal and Polygon being perfect example.

Shaft is better in melee with it's arcade shot. That is sad.

 

 

I know it seems like... F-O-R-E-V-E-R, but... is it really 5+ seconds? 

 

No wonder I've lost most of my health before I actually start to do damage.

Or someone else destroys the target.

 

This current Vulcan would be utter garbage in DMs... every single target would be dead before spin-up completed.

I may have been exaggerating it, but it kinda felt like that long. I will do a retest on it and see if I get better results.

I tested vulcan and when I was going to shoot I though my game bugged or something, but it is that vulcan takes like 3 seconds to start shooting now. This is annoying because your enemies can hide or give them time to destroy you before you actually do damage.

 

Nevertheless, It can shoot about twice the time it used to, along with the improved dps, makes it better than before in some aspects. Also, it got a little bit more range, it is not much but not that I complain. The turret also turns even slower when shooting, which makes fighting at short range a challenge.

 

Now that you can shoot a lot more time, you should be able to destroy a tank or more before overheating, but if you overheat, you will still receive huge damage, this wasn't changed.

 

So, Vulcan became more of a long range weapon with these changes, what do you think?

Anyone else have this vulcan bug? When you shoot the screen freezes, when you aren't shooting or your barrel is rotating the game runs fine?

It's garbage.

 

Was already useful on large maps with "weak" damage of 50%.

 

Now it is completely useless up close with slower rotation and the fact that most enemies will be right on top of you before it actually starts to shoot.

Yes , like i said before , it has changed from medium range support/attack weapon to a long range defender . This is a strange change since all other buffs never changed a weapons purpose .

Maybe its time for trying the alt but it still wont solve the turret rotation . Turning the hull does partially solve it , but driving while shooting has become a " no go ".

Did try 1 game , very high K-D at around 3 . Damage increase very noticable at higher distance . Turret rotation near 0 .  Overheating time +50% orso ? Spin up is indeed very slow ...

Need to use it different then i used to do , much more a large range weapon instead of medium range .I think this is a beast defender now .

I was used to circling and shooting in medium and close range...that is not really an option. I was unaware that the turret rotation was decreased. Also the lag on spin up surprised me...I am having to adapt my shoot for 5 seconds and release then repeat...

Still did well in battles...shredded some heavy hulls at quite a distance. They were definitely unaware of the speed a Vulcan can lay out damage.

I just compared my Vulcan (m3+) stats before and after the buff. There is NO difference according to the stats on turret rotation. The difference doesnt say it in the stats because the turret rotation from the stats is the 1 where you arent shooting . If you are firing , there was always a slowdown , but now trying to hit somebody attacking you from side will surely kill you before you could ever turn the turret .

I rented Alt M1 , and this does solve the turret rotation , but at the expense of less angle up/down . Still think it is a good option for the purpose i use the vulcan ( midfield attack / support ) .

Yes, thanks for the correction! You are right. That is exactly what is going on. 

 

Your assessment of the Alt is what i feared...it's why I haven't spent the crystals yet. Just seems a bad trade off.

Cuz it still happens. Before, overheat killed you before you killed anything. Now, you get killed while trying to start shooting heheheehhhhh

The vulcan just got turned in to a 30 ton paper weight. You can walk faster than it turns now. The match is almost over before it fires.


All the vulcan needed was more firepower. 300 some hours with it it was fine just a little under powered.

Your fighting with tanks that are faster and turrets that turn faster. They run circles around you now. heck they did before. You had to use supplies to compete or you were dead.


After the update I thought something was wrong because it never fired. Funny thing other tanks don't just sit there and wait for you to shoot them.


Cuz it still happens. Before, overheat killed you before you killed anything. Now, you get killed while trying to start shooting heheheehhhhh

It's like what's the best defense against a bear attack. Bear spray or a 357 magnum. Well I'll spray you with bear spray and then shoot you with a 357 magnum. Then you tell me which one took the fight out of you the most.

Like, you payed for a huge war gatling gun for annihilating everything, and you only get a cute thing that turns around and doesn't even do damage

No doubt...after lots of attempts at using this turret...it is officially wrecked. Can't believe they trashed it. All they needed to do was increase DPS by 25% and it probably could have been a more balanced turret...the spin up/down, coupled with ridiculously slow turret while firing and the overheating on steroids makes it the WORST turret out there. It was a nerf!!! Can't believe it. Highly disappointing.

It already had the insane overheating effect before the rebalance update, but I already figured out a way to reduce its heating, if you use a heavy hull, put on good fire protections, and then put on Double armor, it'll be almost non existent at the moment.

I'm not even sure Vulcan needed much in the way of increased DPS.  I wouldn't say no to a 10%-15% boost, but 25% might have been too much.

 

All it really needed was a fix for the overheating.  But Devs can't seem to address the actual problems - they need to re-vamp everything every time they touch an item.

 

Me-thinks they did this to sell more Alterations. Unfortunately, to (partially) get back the spin-up (alt only reduces by 50%) I think the Vulcan will lose some DPS as net compared to before the "buff" (only M4s with better spin-up consider this a buff).

 

M4 before "buff" was 540 DPS.  After was 600 DPS.  With MFR Alt it's 600-25% = 600-150 = 450.

So after alteration Vulcan has less damage than before, and still as longer spin-up.  = a NET LOSS overall.

On the other hand the Vulcan without alt. Before the update could do only 3240 damage nonstop without overheating and after and with the alt. It can do 8100 damage.
