honestly , vulcan was better when it had the insane afterburn damge. i could still use it. now if an enemy is somewhat nearby you can already give up and let them kill you.

The problem with Vulcan is that it's too easily countered by most turrets.

Smoky, Thunder and Railgun can just play hide & seek and take pot shots behind cover while taking little or no damage in return.

Freeze, Fire and Isida will just circle around and kill you from behind.

By the way, it still does have the insane afterburn damage unless they just changed it. All you have gained is a greater duration of time before you start to overheat.

My belif is that the Dev's could not find where the problem was /How to solve so they just increased the spin up time as to increase the glitch starting time  :o   :(

The fire alteration is just stupid, Vulcan touches me for a sec from the far other corner of the map; and 70% of my health is gone.

You just have to kill him when he spawns , and even then he still needs to overheat before the extra damage takes place . Once the vulcan lives long enough to get to there and put his DD on , yes ... you are doomed . Remember when magnum came in , you did not have time to kill him when he respawned , he could just shoot straight away . Yes now the vulcan is the beast i always wanted he should be but it takes about 15 sec to become it . Even then , or he keeps firing and kills himself after 15 seconds more ( depends what hes got ) or got a freeze/isida at its side stop or stop firing and then the 15 seconds start again . Yes i know , it was 1 of the weakest around and now its OP , but thats just the way tanki works . Freeze also came out of the woods to become OP after being weakest . the days when magnum , twins and ricos rules are over . Now its freezes ( more then ever , since he can stop the damage vulcans fire damage ) , vulcan , isida , striker and smoky time .

Yeah - unless Vulcan has 50% fire module equipped, it's pretty much a kamikaze run - taking the enemies down with you.

My alt has Vulcan m2.7 with ~ 29% module.  Overheating is pretty much a guaranteed self-destruct unless an isida comes along.  or someone else kills me.

Oh my gosh...I am a vulcan user, but the alt is a joke...it takes the skill needed to use vulcan and flushes it down the drain. Just overheat and voila...instant death to lots and lots of tanks.

You need to adapt your skills so that you can stay alive as long as possible in overheat mode . On the meanwhile you see the other team adapt to the new rules also , meaning there you see freezes and isidas working to help their team and fast hammers with alts hunting for you together with opposite vulcans .

Yes the game has changed , there are new rulers , the ones which didnt get much use before . How many freezes you seen before last months parameter change ? How many hammers you seen till the new alts ? And how many vulcans were on the playfield ? These turrets are the new strongest and the ones you watch where they are or you are being killed by 1 of them .

And prepare to stock the alt also , since if you not do it , they will still hunt you down like you still have it .

Well I guess it's another reason to get fire protection

Have you purchased the alt?

I was saving up to get Hunter, Twins, Isida, Smoky all to m4. Along with adding another step to firebird, rail, hammer, smoky protections.

Now all the new alts have me looking and wondering...

Argh....I pulled the trigger on it already. Totally amazing at least for the moment. First time I've felt like king of the hill in a battle.  This must be what firebirds and freezes experienced for a long time:)

I will still get the others to m4. I just won't be able to push protections up much at all. Also looking at the double barrel hammer alt...looks very interesting to me. Been face to face with it a few times. It is fairly OP in close proximity.

Any thoughts on the cryo load for smoky? Can't imagine the joy of freezing an opponent in mid range with the crit and then closing in w/DD as they are motionless:) Sounds very fun!

1st day of the alt was amazing , stupendous powerfull and nobody cared about the vulcan firing from far away . 2nd day was allready a lot less , since i did still did amazing damage , but vulcans around ( and suddenly they all came out of the woods )  on other team thought the same and everybody else was or trying to avoid the line of fire .

Today the alt has changed and nerfed a lot . This means , all things are returning to normal , which is not bad  People dont care anymore about a vulcan firing somewhere , the OP power is gone completely but you can still kill plenty .Overall , if things stay the same , for the price of 60k it is recommended as a buy .

Do you ever use Smoky? It got me through the lower-mid ranks in style (m2). The cryo load has me very interested.

I got it on my middle account . Not tried the alts there yet .

After my hiatus, I really want to use my stock Vulcan again, but I feel that the "Sulfur Rain" alteration (y'know the one that turns the bullets into burning bullets) has forever stigmatized Vulcan, perhaps to the point of angering players to harass Vulcan users.

Before, even with Vulcan's issues like the overheating bug, Vulcan for me was a great underdog turret to fight with as I would surprise unsuspecting foes with a barrage of bullets and really tear through the opposition from time to time.

Personally, I hate that the devs released a new Vulcan alteration that lacked a substantial enough downside, but I won't go any further than that lest I go on ranting off-topic.

Anyways, *deep sigh* how is the alteration now, if it has change at all?

Depends on your rank.

My alt at rank Colonel has it - m2 7/10.  And my Fire module is ~ 29%.

In order to make use of Vulcan alt you need to overheat yourself.  But my module does not protect me enough to make up for loss of regular damage. And once I start to overheat I'm pretty much dead.

So - for high ranks with heavy hull and good fire protection it might be effective.

But for mid-ranks without high protection - not so much.

Yes 100% right , on my 2nd account i have a hunter m2 10/10 , fire module idk 8/10 orso / and vulcan m2 10/10 but the medium hull just cant stand overheating and the module is not enough to protect from it . Here off course i got a titan vulcan firemodule all max lvl , and that certainly is a different story . I can pretty much overheat long time , and still have a RK ready , and with some luck a isida or freeze comes along to extend the time even longer .

Vulcan is only good in higher ranks -_-. in low ranks it sucks.

Its a question of how good you can control the weapon . I've bought my 1st vulcan on alternate account m0 since on my main ( this ) account i never played with it , and i wanted it to be my 1st weapon in M3 . Anyway , straight away i liked it and made plenty points and kills , confirming the buy on the weapon for this account . I kept the account alive , and the vulcan there is now m2 10/10 . This covers all ranks and experience . I never said it is the best weapon , in fact the opposite , its 1 of the weakest ( prob the weakest ) but it has got its specialties in which he is very good . Also , since the weapon is not a common weapon , people do not have modules against it .

Try to learn from tips you see here , or users in battle . Do not and i repeat : do not use it as long range weapon . It was only good1 day as long range weapon ( with the alt ) . It has improved with latest changes in stats but it isnt a long range weapon . Its greatest strength is medium range and the ability to stay on the target and not miss shots . Use is as a steady weapon and you are doomed . Learn to shoot and drive together very aggresive and take out the other midranges 1st and stop shooting when you start overheat ( +- 1, 2 seconds after yellow beam is gone ) unless needed .

ps , on the m0 to m2 i always played with hunter . From m3 i play with titan .
