Just realized, to my chagrin, that M1 Rail is not allowed in XP/BP mode. I find this ridiculous... do you?

The devs most likely didn't allow M1 items since they're significantly worse than M3s in terms of speed, reload time, rotation speed, etc.; a team with lots of M1 players is probably going to lose against a team with lots of M2 and M3 players. The difference between M2 and M3 in XP/BP combos tends to be smaller.

XP is highly skill based; plus, differences between modifications are fairly small.

Lot of difference between m1 and m3 modifications. An m1 combo in a team will almost always result in a noticeable disadvantage for it.

Difference, yes. Noticeable disadvantage... I think not.

You have to play with one then. Even before the XP format was in place, players generally left battles in which an m1 combo joined in their team.

What about, say, M2 Hornet + M1 Rail? Quite common... with me among them.

A tanker with the above mentioned combo could have easily compensated the lack of good equipment with skills in the past but things have changed a lot since then, courtesy the auto aim update. M3 rail has a huge advantage over m1 rail in terms of its reloading speed and impact force. Normally this wouldn't have changed things that much but with the new update a tanker with m3 rail will almost always flip a tanker with m1 rail as a result of this reloading gap which will have tremendous consequences in an XP/BP.

Not in the case of M1 rail gun, look at the difference between M1 and M3 reload time. M1 reloads faster.

According to the wiki, M1 Railgun reloads in about 6.11 seconds. M3 Railgun reloads in about 5.79 seconds. That's quite a significant difference.

You don 't play with any micro-upgrades on in a XP/BP or Format Battle.

Every equipment no matter the amount of micro-upgrades is temporarily "stripped" to it 's basic stats.

So micro-upgrading any equipment for the purpose of using it in a Format battle is pointless.

We had m1/m1 and the rest m3 and the opposite had m2/m3 and the rest m3.

It doesnt matter what modification it is, its the skill that matters.

Uh, no. I disliked people who join XP with M1s, because they were slow (in a time an M3 could have capped a flag, an M1 would still be on its way and likely to get shot/killed), turret rotation speed is slow (when their shot is knocked off, they can never regain themselves; they also cannot avoid feints effectively), reload time is long (in one on one occasions, they'll always lose).

My M1 Wasp/M2 Rail/Digital can fully compete with M3 Hornets.

And do you guys realize how much of the XP/BP community was killed off by this update? A LOT of people used M1s, and to great success too! Many Generalissimos and such, using M3 Hornet, M1 Rail, did just fine, even dominated at times.

At least allow M1/M2 or M3 combos.

Hornet yes, wasp no.

M1 Hornet is way too slow -_- At least Wasp can stay with the action

I agree with the "No" sayers.

Though I feel TO could/should make seperate "Junior" XP/BP (Format) Battles where only

M1 hulls are allowed.

If these lower ranked Tankers purchase a Pro Battle pass for the full amount,

they also should be able to play Format Battles. That 's fair business.

Besides, no better way to improve your skills than equally equipped non-drugging players who

kick the s..t out of each other!

I honestly feel like that would be unexciting and too easy, for players like me who have been XP-ing with M3s for months...

"My M1 Wasp/M2 Rail/Digital can fully compete with M3 Hornets."

I 'm sorry: IMO you can 't.

I play now with my alt. account with M2 equipment against M3 's and that already means getting killed more

because the Rail M3 reloads faster.

If a M2 Rail and a M3 shoot at each other at about the same time, the second shot will be first made by the M3 Rail.

Also shooting at a respawning M3 Rail with a M2 Rail does still often mean that he gets you at the second shot.

That tiny difference between M2 and M3 is already undeniable in my own experience.

How you think a M1 Rail would than stack up against a M3 Rail?

I give it to you that a Wasp M1 would certainly perform better than a Hornet M1: but it still wouldn 't compensate enough.

And come on Trom, your almost a Colonel: so for you personally it won 't be a long burden! :)

(besides, I consider Wasp M2 stronger than Hornet M2 if both players are evenly skilled...

the higher top/turning speed makes the difference)
