Slight nerf to railguns on Wasps

Recommended Posts

Railguns are very powerful.  They can one shot a Viking M1 drugged.  Two shots without.  It's easy for Wasps to set up situations where they can kill without return fire.

In my opinion, this make light tanks too powerful but not by a lot.  So here's my suggestion.  A Wasp and possibly a Hornet will be guaranteed to be knocked over if they try to shoot when the barrel is perpendicular to the hull.  This forces these tanks to expose themselves for just a bit longer.

The purpose of this is to make the medium and heavy tanks more playable and gives them a slight advantage in using their turrets.  Like real tanks.

Tanki wasnt set to be realistic from the first,

if you want realistic. go play WoT

agreed

Railgun and hornet (or wasp) are famous combos, so famous that they have their own game type,

heavier hulls were ment to have more power with less speed and mobility, lighter hulls were made to have speed and agility but with less power.

things should be kept that way because so many people are accustom to it, Nerfing rail would devistate many players and spark an outrage from XP players.

Railguns on light hulls already got nerfed with the recent aim mechanics update, so now they have a much higher chance of turning over. Railgun isn't OP despite it's huge damage, because its big disadvantage is the long reload and the warm-up before the shot. Making them turn over every single time they shoot sideways will have massive negative impact on their ability and performance, so even pros will find it difficult to play with Railgun on light hulls. It's difficult to master Railgun, so if someone manages to shoot from cover and never get shot back, it doesn't make Railgun OP - it just means that the player is skilled at using it.

It's supposed to have a negative impact on their ability and performance.  Light hulls with speed AND big guns is a huge advantage.  The maneuver doesn't take that much skill against heavier hulls.   The reload time doesn't hurt you if you can get away, which Wasps can. They merely need to go backwards and forwards with the gun perpendicular to the hull.  The heavier hulls aren't fast enough to counter this and ricochet does not knock them around enough to throw off their aim.  I've tried various tricks and none of them work.  When they do this, my viking is dead meat.

Why does the game even bother with heavier hulls when it gives the light ones so much power?  What is the point?  They're more expensive and very vulnerable.

A famous combo is a sure sign of an over powered combo.  It's popular because it's easy to play and way more powerful than other combos.  Players will no doubt object that their easy kills have been taken away and they will have to learn to play with more skill.

Railgun is not overpower. Railgun is versatile.

I run a clan and last time we had training with weapons free of choice. 80% came with the rail. Why? Because they leraned to master it (took long) and now they know each advantage and disadvantage.

It is a very nice weapon that sharpens your skills to the max.

Need tactics cause of long reload; need aiming skills cause, need to plan your shots.

If it would be so overpowerd all beginners would stick with rail, which they dont do.

I like the flipping update but to my opinion the light tanks now flip toooo often.

70% less flips would add a certain degree of dynamic to the game.

You've just made my point for me.  You learn a few tricks with a wasp and a railgun and it becomes a super weapon.

Light tanks should be easy flip.  It's called game balance.

I never thought light hulls were too OP. All it takes is one Mammoth or Tital on the flag with Double Armour and a good paint and the light hulls will helplessly try to push the heavy out of the way to try and grab the flag. I can give you many screenshots where I got lots of points will a light hulls and even more screenshots where I got a huge D/L on a heavy. They just have different play styles and each one has its own arch nemesis. Light hulls may be a bit overpowered only because players don't know how to effectively defeat them and CTF matches don't have good defense. Light hulls with Railgun aren't OP either since after one shot they're left helpless during reload, so they can't exactly go and effectively take out multiple defenders to escape with the flag.

I hope the above makes sense, but I'm just trying to say that increasing the knockback on Railgun will seriously ruin the gameplay for XP and BP

I an consistently reminded of how few people at lower ranks understand the power of the medium tank. At the bottom ranks, almost no one uses them, but higher up, many people use them. This is because although health stays about the same relative to damage of weapons (it takes about the same number of shots to kill people at different modifications), maneuverability gets better.

The moral: Don't worry about Hornet/Rail being OP. It will get better at high ranks. Then you'll complain about Viking/Rail being OP. XD
