Stay in battle while you visit the lobby

To answer all of you at once, the red X in the corner takes twice as long.

1. You click on the X (wait 10 seconds to load lobby)

2. Click garage (wait 10 seconds to load garage)

Like this you click No, wait 10 seconds to load garage - quite a bit faster.

I really have no clue what you're saying here.

There seems to be some crossed wires.

Why would we want to speed up the process for someone leaving the battle at the expense of those wanting to stay in the battle?

There has to be some misunderstanding here.

I still don't see why we have to click twice for garage when garage is what we clicked on in the first place. This thing is really annoying me. This could be the proverbial straw for me.

I see your point, everyone got used to it, I think the only complaint I remember hearing was finding the x to leave battle at the time. but it didn't take long for people to figure it out.

The only thing I could think of is that more options could be added at some point. Maybe a favourite combo preloaded, voice call option, etc

Did you even read what you wrote, it makes no sense at all. LOL

Do yourself a favor and stop talking.

And if you want to ban me for speaking my mind, go ahead, I have no problem taking my money to the competition.

No, why would I want to ban you for speaking your mind? And I won't do anyone a favor by not talking, why would I want to? Everyone is free to express their opinion.

Well when your target audience is preteen they have to keep it simple enough for them to understand. LOL

Maybe if the designers stopped wasting time on stupid stuff like this, maybe they could focus on something important, like actually doing something about all the mults or fixing the "flipping issue" correctly.

To be honest I don't like this update.

Before this update, I had the time to quickly go to my Garage right after I die, so when I respawn, I already changed equipment.

Now when I try to do that, I already respawned, so I have to self-destruct AGAIN.

You just made it much longer to change equipment. At least 10 seconds longer.

Before this update, getting in Garage was much faster, and getting out of battle just took the click of the red button on the corner.

Not sure what the purpose of this was. If it was to make things faster, then objective NOT accomplished.

Hillarious update,

lets take a button, that has a clearly defined purpose and make it do something else

next update: when you click to use a drug, box will pop up asking are you sure :D

Tanki - please get someone who actually plays the game to sign off on these changes in future.

You guys totally misunderstand this.

By clicking "yes" your garage will open on top of the battle while you change your equipment, and return you to the battle when done.

By clicking "no" you will leave the battle and then enter you garage, and be returned to the lobby when done.

"cancel" is in case you entered the garage by accident.

I think this is very useful, often I want to go to the garage while leaving the battle so it doesn't take up all that time.

No we didn't misunderstand this, what hes saying is that this makes it hard for us to quick;y go to garage and return with new euipment while respawning.

Possible Solution

Using AutoHotKey, you can assign yourself a hotkey that will automatically click on the garage button, wait for the dialogue box to pop up and then press the Enter key for you. I set this up for when I press the Enter key on the number pad.

Here is the script I used

NumPadEnter::
MouseMove, 1620,100
MouseClick, left
sleep, 50
Send, {Enter}
return

I then turned it into an .exe using the compiler.
Note the 1620,100 refers to the x,y co-ordinates of where the garage button can be found on my screen which will vary for most users.

I will be using this method until TO fix this monumental mistake. B)

I've added the above to the OP.

Well had this to say in a similar topic.

We have reasons to change interface this way. Yes, this is somewhat inconvenient for player who used to old interface, but new dialog will remain. We got a lot of problems with people not leaving battles and staying in garage or battle list while they are still take place in team list. This dialog makes it less of an issue. Thus, it will stay in the game.

Not sure what he is talking about. I think he is trying to say players where accidentally staying in the garage. LOL  They do it to hide or be a mult. That will not change just because you ask them if they are sure they want to go the garage. I really can't imagine players being stupid enough to not realize they are still in a battle and not the lobby. Who actually wants to leave a battle and go directly to the garage. This extra dialogue serves no useful purpose. Now something that would be real helpful would be to have a way to see how much longer you have before you can change an item again without having to enter the garage. You could add timers to your little dialogue box, then it would be useful.

I like the work of the developers, but some updates like this are unnecessary (Like this1) I clicked 'no' many times per accident and lost scores above 2000-3000.

Edit, this update is not only unnecessary, it is freakin me out!!! Plz fix this Dev's!!!

REALLY FRUSTRATED! -_-

Tanki aims at a valid point - users in battle stay too long in garage.

I think usefull solutions should motivate the user to act accoringly, instead of asking them more and mroe questions.

I have a propsal:

Limit their time in garage as long as they are in battle.

Target: The user should think about his weapons in advance and should _want_ to return to the battle fast.

1) When the user is in battle and enters the garage (and only if in battle) -> a 30sec timer starts to countdown.

The user should think about his weapons in advance so 30sec are good enough to choose. And of course this stops if he starts to make a money based payment.. you should not interfere with purchasing.

Countdown reads like "Tank respawn in xx seconds"

Countdown could be displayed in lower right corner of the rotating tank display. Last 10sec flash red.

2) If their 30sec in garage run out, the tank is respawned on the map, user stays in garage.

So he will collect kill by kill by kill - which decreases his share in battle fund ( = motivation). User is informed about that via a dialog box in garage, which also states that he is going to be kicked out of battle (with loosing all fund share) after 30more seconds.

3) After the second 30sec ran out, you display a dialog box:

[leave battle (automaticall in 5 seconds, small countdown] - or - [back to game]

(Actually you could skip point (2) and show the "leave or back to battle" dialog box imediatly after the first 30sec.

Just depends on how much time you want to give them and how "forcefully" you want to motivate them to spend less time in garage.)

It the garage is enterd from the lobby, then no timer is counting down.. and the players can spend time on looking at their nice equipment and statistics.

Estimated results in bahaviour:

- Within one week the players will learn to think about their weapons first, and then change quickly.

- The gameplay would be much smoother. We would have less player slots blocked

vote up if you like it

The new dialogue will remain despite widespread disapproval. Just forget trying to find an alternative solution because clearly the only way is to upset 99% of tanki players.

I personally find it insulting that they think I could make mistakes like not knowing the difference between going to the garage during a battle and going to the garage from the lobby. Or that I could get confused and accidentally stay in the garage instead of leaving the battle. Seeing as how this seems to be a "new player" issue, target them directly, don't penalize all players.
