Shaft

I dont think you guys have noticed since you never do, but shaft has become super OP. It is stable which i like but its to easy to use now, as there is no need for precision and timing. Secondly When facing a shaft for some odd reason they just charge up for 1 sec and they take out more than half my health. I have seen this with M2, M1, and M0 shafts. They take out health on hunter, hornet, wasp, and dictator. This to me is considered a fault and i dont find it funny, that you havent even written a topic about it yet.

 

My solutions are

- Lower Shafts rotation speed, when enemies are as close as 2 meters, however this shouldn't work on Viking, or any of the Heavy hulls. Viking is one of the most used hulls so i dont find it fair for shafts to have suffer from majority.

- bring back the instability for close ranges, and if Shaft aims to low down the tank automatically suffers damage or blows up.

- Shafts laser is on at all times.

Subtle changes to an already balanced weapon.

 

  • The rotation speed is slow enough already.
  • Please don't suggest bringing back instability, I got sick watching the scope float like that.
  • I thought it was. :huh: The laser becomes more visible the more it charges up, I'm glad for that option, because now I know what stage of damage it might deal to me.
  • The charge takes longer than you think, it's just lag that makes it seem like 1 second.
  • Easy to use? The laser scope eliminates successful camping, you have to be smart using the laser.

Have you ever used shaft?! I'm sure that you haven't curse to anyone with shaft. Half of the that I use shaft I just get angry and have to try some impossible ways.

 

Someone wants to destroy all chances of shaft's short range. This is just impossible. I can write a novel about beat shafts, there is little way and you say this is unfair really!?

 

 

This gun has lots of disadvantages( i can explain how are they unfair), so have to be a bit OP.

 

 

I don't have time to explain everythink, but you will understand.

I don't have a problem with shafts just the way they are.  They are very vulnerable when they're camping.  The scope prevents them from seeing tanks sneaking up on them or catching them from odd angles.  They are also quite vulnerable to ricochet, which makes it hard for them to aim when they're getting hit.  They are also not a good turret to drug with because you're not shooting all the time.

 

The railgun though, now that needs a bit of nerfing IMHO.  They always drug and when they do they can one shot most hulls.  One shotting ruins the game.

That's an inappropriate suggestion.

Each one should hang on each one's own taste of weapons. That's the whole idea (not reality) of balanced turrets, that each  has its strong and weak points and players choose what they like the most as a game style.

Now, why should everybody move to shaft just because Devs decided to promote shafts sales? Like they did to hammer before that and others before...

I like railgun, I don't suggest to everyone to get that weapon. Some like it, others not. Each to each's own.

I do use shaft, on my lower accounts, arun24 and arun464. My main problem is when there is like 6 shafts on one team, like in stadium or highway, massacre, lost temple... you name it.

I used Shaft at lower ranks until it became less OP. :P

When I save up for M2, I might use it more than my trademark favorite, Ricochet M2.

is rico M2 that good, M1 seems a little less powerful than the M0. In my opinion that is. I like the M0 more than the M1 model.

They should promote weapons that arent being used as much anymore, like they did with smoky and firebird, not like promote something thats being used so much like when they gave that 70% sale for Viking.

Arun, you ain't king. Tanki won't make updates to please you because a Shaft killed you. Get some logic in your ideas, and get to try shaft.

When did i pull a sword out of some rock, when was i ever a prince, when was i ever spoiled, when did i mention its because i get killed by them, when did i ever marry some girl and make her my queen, where is my kingdom, where is my army, i can go on with that garbage you keep mentioning. Logic, if you know it so well, give me some and define it in your own words.

Probably will be different problem if there is 6 railguns, thunders or isidas

Maybe it won't be any problem for shafters, but railgunners, thunderers?

I understand you are learning English... Theres no ners after railgun, if you want to say more than one railgun you say Railguns, and for Thunderers, theres no ers theres just an "S" at the end  Thunder. 

 

And no it wont be a problem for anyone, unless they dont have multiple upgraded combos.

Ricochet M1 is very good at that rank because the only M1 Hulls unlocked are Wasp, Titan, and Mammoth, so it becomes OP against the M0 Hornet that is so popular. :)

 

But yeah, same goes for M2, it is an awesome gun. :)

As far as I know shaft has became unpopular turret since the update... if you want it to be weaker... I would better suggest to remove it totally :)

At your rank, you'd need Shaft M3 or M4, correct? Just curious. What M do you have it at anyways?

 

But if you think that it is "super OP" and easy to use, why not post some screenshots? Since it has become "super OP," it's not too much trouble

to upload a couple of pictures, right?

But yes, Shafts are already easy enough to troll up close. Funny when they're trying to search for you in scope mode, and you run right across their screen and they still can't get a proper aim at you.

 

Though since you say you use Shafts, don't you realize how fast their charge goes when in scope-mode? In a moment that thing can charge a pretty decent amount. Simple solution is not to engage them in their line of sight. That is where they have the advantage, OK?

Would you run up to a Sniper in the open, to their face? No, because you're going to get shot - hard. LOL.

 

Also, your solutions are. . . .irrational. Lower Shaft's rotation speed only when enemies are in range of 2 meters? LOL WHAT.

And don't do it for Viking? If you're at 2 meters range, and the Shaft already sees you, try your best to move out of the way.

 

If you can't, then you can't since he/she obviously knew you were near. So the trick would be to sneak undetected. Their vision is cut down significantly in scope-mode already, and if they fired their shot already, don't waste a second to kill them, or do a hit and run technique, and come back for them later. Or keep them busy enough for a teammate to assist.  And the "don't do it for Viking" part doesn't make sense.  . . . I understand that you're saying this nerf shouldn't go for Shaft/Viking combo, but still . . ..  .

 

And this update would be terrible. If it aims too low, their whole tank blows up? LOL WHAT.

Shaft's purpose is to be able to aim. Notice how it's not a very mobile turret. Sure you can use it as one, but in scope-mode, you're going to be a sitting duck. You have a tendency to nerf Turrets too much, eh? Do realize that you are not playing with AI's, but real people in Tanki Online.

 

I'm not even going to talk about 24/7 Laser. :lol:

That's the point of stacking your defenses.  Though if you don't like it, but shafts are there to SHOOT YOU, not get into  punching match.  I mean really, the more shafts on a team, the less flag captors you likely have, o it's still within the balance, stronger defense, weaker offense.

 

You people who complain about them are the same ones that drug up and ransack a base with the most advantage possible.  Shafts are what are needed to keep the game more like tank combat and not some sort of football game.  Get too cocky and a shaft will have your azz.  Hell, as far as I'm concerned the laser nearly nerfed it, and frankly, it should have never been put on.  All the M2 classes and above are incredibly powerful and the game dynamics change at those levels, thus shafts in the long run have it even harder.  They need to nerf the railgun if they are nerfing the stealth on shaft, and your beloved Rico can kill most hulls of it's own class in about 5 or 6 consecutive hits.  You shield up and that's game over for a lot of folks if you are quick.  Stop your whining and get a life.  Good shafts shut down opposing team play and coordination, LIKE THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO.  They are strategy, everything else is just tactics.  King of combat, period.  Have to think out EVERY SHOT, the why, the how, the when.  Stupid button mashers can run around in tanks and just drug up start killing things, so no, Shaft is not overpowered, just the players MENTAL CAPACITY is likely greater than the other players, and thus, we shafts are disliked.  I suggested a bubble bath and maybe a new boyfriend, because someone's ***** hurts apparently too much.

Even though I agree with you, I don't agree with the way you typed it, you are coming across as insulting to some people.
