Ideas for Supplies and Drones!

i need to tell u that the new overdrive system is a nuisence. pls remove it and tell the previous overdrive be in the game forever and ever. they r not tellng us play and in the cosmonautics day celebration onlu mamonth can take the gold box. what is it.pls look in to the matter very seriously and update me about further details. and one last thing no tanker is happy with the new overdrive

 

THIS IS SOME SERIOUS HERESY! PURGE THIS POST, BRING ME THE HEAVY FLAMMER!

i honestly really like the overdrive. the Mammoth's overdrive is augrebuly the best. It does make you 100% ivincable, you can survive ANYTHING. even the wasps overdrive. This is very sasifing to do.  (works best with a rush tatic using either vulcan or twins) which is a nuke. Also an islada/titan is the new super support. it heals and creates a sheild, WHICH ALSO HEALS. Also the horent is taking the role of the sniper. since it marks where every enemy is on the map. Also if you like the old overdrive just use dictator. Just because you dont like it doesn't mean it needs to be taken away.

Sure, you can survive anything but when that Wasp drops a bomb 1 second after you activated it, then it's not that useful. And a Hunter can stop it in its tracks and then wait for you to become a delectable jelly bean again.

I'm not following your reasoning here...

 

Mammoth OD lasts 10 seconds and bomb goes off in 3... so... no damage.

 

And the Hunter better hope the Mammoth with it's speed boost can't close the distance faster than the silly OD delay... else fried Hunter.

I know that the bomb has a 3 second timer. By the time I'm able to get up to groups of enemies, my effect would already be taken away by the Wasp's bomb. And the Wasps are plentiful so I expect a bomb every time I encounter one alone which is usually the case. 

The delay is only one second long so I doubt they'd close the distance in time. And in those 3 seconds of the Mammoth being stunned, you can move away from it and it would also lose 25% of the speed they had previously assuming that the speed boost supply was activated before the EMP shock. 

 

Yeah, it's invincible but it can be taken down or diulted easily considering its main weaknesses recharge the fastest out of all the Overdrives.

First off, I know somebody already said this idea (probably).

But they need to change the cooldown of supplies in MM battles. I mean, EVERYBODY uses supplies in every. single. MM. battle. Every (or most every) single tank. That's just a bit ridiculous, truthfully.  

 

With a double armor into a repair and moderate skill, every medium and heavy hull pretty much has a second life. You can't even destroy anybody who's camping in your base because most of the time they have a double armor + damage equipped when you spawn, AND a repair to back it up (mostly seen in one-sided MM battles). All these drugged-up tankers... have you ever seen a MM battle where no one has all three supplies on at once? Just look at the number of people on your team spawning and throwing on a double armor the minute they become corporal.

 

Now, it's the side with more premium top-five players is the side that wins. You can't even compete (yes, I have tried) without using any supplies if it's a balanced game (i.e. same number of flags captured). As for those unbalanced games...

 

What happened to supply drops? I've seen players throw on a double armor when they have a double armor NEXT to them. You even see those low rank hornet + firebirds throwing on double damages for no reason (even though they know they know they are going to die).  

 

I remember back a while age when supplies weren't this prevalent... I had around 500 speed boxes (the supply I have the most of) at that time and was still able to score a decent K/D.

The fact that it's so easy to get supplies nowadays shows that the developers don't even care anymore... of course.

(supplies = augment tankers/buyers = enjoy game more = buy). Where are the days when you had to BUY most of your supplies from the garage?

 

Granted, there might be more non-buyers than buyers out there (of course, it's impossible to tell nowadays because everybody has supplies)

 

So finally... changes:

 

Double Armor: Don't make it go into a repair. Just. Don't. It's bad enough seeing that viking M2.5 throw on a double armor, knowing he's going to take forever to kill (unless you ALSO drug), it's even worse seeing him regain ALL of his hp (I know if you hit them while they're repairing, it stops, but honestly, they still get that initial boost).  

 

Double Damage: Ah, the elixir of life for thunder + vikings at my rank (and smokies). I mean, what's the point of a heavy hull if you know the other guy's going to just throw on a double damage? What's the point of playing ANY hull if you know the other guy can, at the very least, destroy you as if you both of you didn't have supplies on? I say change the cool down of using this supply from any other 1 minute. Stop the one/two-shotting of all those hornets, eh?

 

Speed Boost: Probably the least abused of the supplies (except for heavies, where it doesn't really make that much of a difference to others), used mostly (from my experience) by hunter + firebirds to chase down everybody. Maybe a 45-second cool down on this one from all others.

 

Repair: Want to give your double-armor M2.6 27% prop against everything hunter M2s on a premium account a second life? Just use the repair box, an easy around alternative for every tanker (who wants to ruin the game).

Now, I know repair boxes are needed in the game, but they shouldn't be as accessible as they are now. Tanki should make them strategic, say, make players ACTUALLY THINK about when to use them. Set the cool down to 2 minutes I say. Yes, 2 minutes. 3 repairs a battle. Or maybe set a max limit use of 10 repairs per battle. Almost every gold box catch is possible because of the [1] on your computer. If those first place players want the gold box, they've got to save them.

Pro battles: Yes, there's going to be people saying, "Then just go play pro battles noob. The pass is less than 4k!" The thing is, Tanki shouldn't be about supplies. The fact that you even need supplies to win in these "normal" battles is already quite disappointing. It's as if LoL players started having to use riot points to play CASUALLY. That's what Tanki is. If you don't have supplies, you're pretty much screwed. And as if to nail in that point Tanki makes most of its f2p rewards (mission chains, early stage challenge rewards, etc.) in MM battles. That's just stupid. 

 

I know all those no-lifers (aka play Tanki 24/7, complete all challenges, etc.) and buyers out there don't care, so don't bother reading this post. It won't change your opinion. Oh, and I'm not checking this post. I have better things to do than listen to all your so-called "counterarguments".

there should be a box that is 2x reload. For melee turrets, the reload can be 2x slower. There should be few amounts of these boxes of supplies for maps.

add key 7 for activing drones

 

Hi

I think it is time to listen to players about this case.

drones are useless (at the moment) because they active auto and so they need lot of battries and you know ,battries are axpensive ,we want to active them when we need them .

if this situation continue drones will forget in near future .

One of the things that devs are trying very hard to avoid is making controls more complicated. That involves not adding any new keys to the existing controls, which is why drones activate automatically.

 

Also, this makes some drones with powerful abilities harder to use, for example the Defender and Booster drones would be even more OP if you could just activate them whenever you need to, rather than needing to plan your use of supplies in order to take full advantage of the drone. And of course another reason is to make drones use more batteries so that you run out of them faster.

 

I'd love to see your idea get added, but an activation key was intentionally not implemented, so I doubt this will change.

You could have saved yourself some keystrokes by cutting out   this... ;)

I got driver and Brutus drone, and I don't use them all the time. Only when I need them.

 

Driver I use if I have an OD mission. I use Brutus is handy for earn crystals and score missions.

 

If I don't need them at the moment, I'll just unequip them, saving myself some batteries.

 

So no need for a key for drones.

Not possible for some drones.

How you figure?  They are either "on"  or "off".  Hitting 7 could toggle that (in lieu of going to garage to equip - wasting time)

Press 7 can only active batteries not drone(s) if you've more than 1 drones. N batteries activation is also a mess. You will press 7 to active life guard drone? That which lay mines, how you'll press 2 supply keys at once? N many other drones.

If the reason is due to complication of controls-why can't you simply have it as an option in settings to be able to toggle the '7' key to activate drones or not.

Multiple times in the I&S there are complaints about batteries being too short-and you are really worried that Tanki NEEDS the batteries to run out quicker?-I have seen players state that they don't use drones due to batteries running out too quickly.

So why not give players that option?

You can only equip one drone at a time in garage.  7 will turn on/off the drone you have equipped.  Want a diff drone? visit garage.

 

Only diff between this suggestion and way it works now is... you don't have to visit garage to turn on/off the drone equipped.

 

Simple.

The need to,  the drone should only be activated if there are nearby enemies and blowing up the

Tank will actually cause damage to enemies. otherwise i will burn through all the batteries i have super fast

Without actually having any return on using the drone.

Our ideas are not the same why the merge ? i offer a different solution for a certain drone

That's really disgusting that people actually liked your post for saying that, what is wrong with you people?

 

It really frustrates me that they waste away batteries doing nothing, so, what if we could disable/enable them with key 7? Meaning that whichever drone you have equipped, you can disable/enable with key 7 to activate the next time. Otherwise, I can just disable/enable it every time I spawn via garage, but it takes so long loading it in the middle of battle.

I agree, we need a switch to turn the equipped Drone OFF and ON.

 

Once switched OFF or ON there could be a cooldown before switching it ON or OFF again or before changing the Drone in the Garage.

 

To know which Drone we have equipped there could be icons for every Drone.

My post was a detailed explanation of drone mechanics and why they were made to work the way they do. People liked it because they agree and understand it, not because they actually like how drones work.

Sorry, I rushed with the merge and didn't have time to change it. Your topic has been split again and you can find it here.

 

The idea is still similar though, because it would help make the drone easier to use by activating it only when it would actually be useful, as opposed to activating whenever the conditions are met (i.e. tank dies and the drone is ready). This makes it unlikely to be implemented, since it would make the drone more effective, affecting game balance.
