Ideas for Supplies and Drones!

Not really. That's because Viking's overdrive can only be used twice in the same battle for 7 seconds.

 

A Triple Damage supply would last for 30 seconds like the other normal supply boxes and deal triple damage per shot. Players would use them when they really need it to take down drugging Titans and Mammoths which often use Double Armor.

 

The Booster drone does not do much. I used it myself and it does not help boost your supplies much at all, so the best alternative I came to think was to suggest a Triple Damage supply that is rarer but occasionally drops in maps and players can also earn them from time to time in challenges.

We have enough powerups already. Plus, tanks are much too easy to destroy IMO. Not even the heavy hulls have lasting power.

So if you run into a double damage box then follow it with a triple damage box, will the effects add up?

 

I'm assuming the effect of the triple box only will affect the tank. If so, then players must avoid taking any double damage box before it, because that would mean one wasted DD box for the team.

Upon activation of this supply, you are able to infect a single or multiple tank and deal continuous damage to them per second without being in contact of them.

 

Upon them making contact with another enemy tank /  killing the enemy tank this effect is immediately transferred to the enemy team mate. To balance this, it will have a long possibly dynamic cool down similar to the Overdrive system. 

 

This will help to add more variety to game-play in non-PRO battles, and decrease the chances of the user relying on a double damage / armor and creating a drug war.

Good question. I haven't thought about that. When you pick up a Double Damage box, then pick up a Triple Damage box, the damage does not add up. What will happen instead is that the Triple Damage box will cancel out the effect of the Double Damage box and use the Triple Damage effect instead.

Turrets doing 6x damage would not be a problem because developers would find a suitable timing to balance out the amount of time the Triple Damage box can remain active. That is how long active can remain the Triple Damage box. I chose 30 seconds like with other supplies such as Double Damage. However, if 30 seconds is too much, then developers would choose a shorter time as they wish to re-balance the Triple Damage box effect.

a shorter time would do nicely. 30 sec for normal x2 damage right?

then for x6 damage, it'd be for 10 seconds (since x6 is triple of x2, then the duration has to be 1 third of the normal one)

Even for Riddler you are being daft.  Of course 6x damage will be a problem.

Tanks blowing up every 15 seconds would be childish.

 

Go buy a drone if you want to do more damage.

Or use Viking or Hornet.

I could see this as an add-on to the viking OD or an entirely new OD but not as a supply. Or maybe as a new gamemode.

Reminds me of the Medic's infection from Team Fortress Classic. I absolutely hated that as a mechanic, especially since only another Medic could cure it and it could be transmitted to newly-spawned teammates. 

 

As for this as a supply, eh, I could actually see this as an Isida alt more.

Yeah, I can see this happening. Maybe it would be like anyone within a 10-metre radius of Viking when it activates its Overdrive would be infected similar to ignition. Perhaps 20% of maximum toxic overload per second? That should help out splash damage turrets at close range or melee turrets to be on par with ranged turrets.

Please don't underestimate me. I am not daft, nor stupid. I am just saying the if the length of active time of the Triple Damage effect is too long, then the active time of this supply can be nerfed to, let's say 10 seconds. That way, turrets would not be overpowered doing 6x damage.

 

Viking has an overdrive. I has nothing to do with a Triple Damage supply. Drones don't help much in extra damage. In my point of view, drones are like toys that hover above you can gives more of a visual gizmo above your tank than anything else.

Maybe as a virus that some turrers can use in alterations.

 

It can be like afterburn but weaker, depending on the amount of exposure, and it wouldn't stop damaging until you use a RK.

 

Energy based weapons, like Isida, Twins and Rico could deliver viruses.

I did not say you were daft.  I said you were being daft.  There's a difference - mostly related to this suggestion.

 

There's no need to discuss the length of the 3x damage because... there should not be a 3x damage box in the game.  ANY length would be too long.

 

If you think drones are mostly just there to give a visual boost then you are using them incorrectly.

Wolverine is right. Before booster got nerfed, you could cause absolute chaos to your enemies while it was active for just 5 seconds. Booster gives 400% damage while your proposed supply gives 300%, but 10 seconds of 3x damage is a lot.

 

Anyway, I see this more as an alteration for Booster or the DD supply (if such alterations ever get implemented), rather than a whole new supply.

Huh? Only the duration and drone cooldown was reduced.

 

I didn't mean "now" as in "after the nerf". Sorry, poor wording on my part.
