Ideas for Supplies and Drones!

I will chime in for the side against grenades. There is already too much stuff to keep track of in battle with all the augments. In higher up games, things are flying in all directions in all colors non stop. I want simplification rather than complication, and I think devs should consider this carefully. I understand the inclination to throw more and more stuff into a game that is struggling a bit. But if this leads to a degradation of the user experience, it will not make the player base grow. If you are playing 15 min on the subway on your phone, maybe epileptic chaos is ok. But if you wanna chill for a few hours in the evening, you want something less stressful. It is the these players that rack up volume, and they should be catered to.

NB:  for something more constructive: you were able to change the grenade bind this weekend. It was the 'drop flag' control.

I have saved crystals for 2 drones, and I am considering which ones to upgrade. Did my research, and things are looking bad for crisis. At this point it's a wish version of booster - you are more vulnerable (unless you detect the threats), so you are forced to play safe with long range weapons. In which case, just use booster. If you want to use DA or Nitro, you have to abandon DD, so not sure how much I would like to do this. 
What I suggest: remove the bonus (passive) DA, DD from all drones (except Hyperion), make it slightly stronger (40% of supplies effect maybe?), and make Crisis gives those bonuses when the supplies aren't active. Basically you have 40% of one at all times, 150% of the other. You use nitro, so you go fast, but you have 40% of DA and DD. You choose your strength in any situation, without abandoning all other attributes. Not sure if nitro should also be part of this. It would end up with a constant movement boost. 
So what about Brutus? Make it a F2P Crisis. It can be Defender, Booster, Trickster, but here is the catch: Only if you pick up the supply. You pick DD? Congrats, you have the bonus DD for the duration. Oh you picked a DA now? You lose the bonus DD, but now you are a certified defender user. I don't know if this would make it too strong for its price, but maybe the effects can be reduced for it (either duration or strength). It would certainly be lots of fun lol

For further explanation:

Equiping Crisis leads to your tank spawning with two grey icons for DA, and DD. Those are the reduced effects. If you use nitro, you keep the grey icons, but also gain a golden nitro icon. If you use DD, you keep the grey DA icon, and the DD becomes golden. Golden being the increased effect of the supplies, as it is currently.

It's a nice idea, but feels way too radical of a change. I'd guess that this sort of mechanic was thoroughly considered as an option for Crisis, and devs decided to go with the current one instead. So I don't think this will ever be implemented.

First I would like to make some balance changes in the current drones, and share my idea of a new drone!

 

Mechanic drone

-15 seconds armor cooldown

(meaning you can use armor boost without cooldown)

Defender drone

Bonus armor: +70%

Armor supplies consumed: 1+2 (3)

Booster drone

Bonus damage: +25% (no change)

Damage supplies consumed: 1+2 (3)

Trickster drone

Bonus speed: +40%

Speed boost supplies consumed: 1+2 (3)

Crisis drone

Bonus armor: +100%

Bonus damage: +40%

Bonus speed: +60%

Repair kit cooldown: -10sec

Mine cooldown: -10 sec

Supplies consumed: 1+2 (3)

Hyperion drone

Supplies consumed: 1+1 (2)

 

 

HAZARD DRONE

After spawning you can use all supplies at once, but supply active time becomes less than normal! It also increases the effects of booster armor, damage & speed at the same time by killing enemies. The more enemies you kill the higher the boosted effect will  be, but it has a limit! If you die you lose the extra effects completely! If you don't kill an enemy you can run out of supplies pretty fast and be without supplies for a longer time, being more vulnerable to enemies attack! Also the drone extends the supply active time by killing enemies! However supply boxes have no effects on the tank just like Crisis drone.

The mentioned parameters are in maximum upgrade

 

Extra effect percentage by kills

Armor 7%-> 35%

1: 7% 2: 14% 3: 21% 4: 28% 5: 35%

Damage 3% -> 15%

1: 3% 2: 6% 3: 9% 4: 12% 5: 15%

Speed 5%-> 25%

1: 5% 2: 10% 3: 15% 4: 20% 5: 25%

The kills you need for maximum extra effects

5

Regular supply and extra effects cooldown

30 seconds

Additional supply time by killing

1 kill grants +10 seconds to supply active time, and extending the extra effects as well by 10 seconds

Maximum supply and extra effects cooldown

1 minute

Supply consumed by the drone

The drone consumes 1+4 supplies of armor, damage & speed supplies

 

There would be an indicator near, or around the drone that shows how many kills you have, probably a circle with 5 parts, cool and different animation the more kills you have. So basically the main purpose of this drone is to get kills fast to level up your extra supply effects, if you don't make kills you can lose the supply effects pretty fast and be stuck without supplies for 30 seconds! Jamming is useful against this drone, but just like Crisis, it gets back it's effects after the jamming is over, unlike Trickster, Defender, Booster!

So this is happening from past few weeks or so and has been confirmed to me by other players- auto activation of repair kits that too on full health, so we are bearing 2 loses, 1 ) unnecessary repair kits usage ( i lost approximately 2k in past few days ) , 2) unavailability of repair kits when you actually need them!!, my auto activation of supplies is turned off in the battle settings, we need compensation and most of all fixing of this bug!!!

Faced this problem, having auto supplies activated is a good assist when you're using Hyperion.

But the unnecessary repair kit usage made me disable it from the settings as well.

Im saying this is happening despite the auto-activation being turned off ?? now my 2-3-4 is not activating automatically but 1 is still !!

Oh, that's a major issue then.

Are you sure your keybindings is right, without the option ON, auto activation doesn't work.

Defo not a keybinding issue, have been experiencing this too with repair kits being consumed without pressing any keys and with the auto supply option disabled.

Strange, then it is either an intended effect by Developers or a newly created bug, perhaps.

It's a 100% a bug/glitch, because even when I have it turned off, I still get my repair kit activated off spawn and even get my double armor or damage used without me pushing the button of my keyboard to do it

I don't know about weaker. I've gotten triple and quadruple kills with my grenades. How often do you get that with a mine or speed boost?

Obviously more often because supplies last much longer than grenade (1 per spawn which is dumb) and we always play with supplies which helps us getting more kills.

I know that they have planned more grenade types and other gadgets that are thrown on the ground, so I thought I'd add some suggestions.

  • Molotov cocktail. It sets a tank on fire if thrown on it, and can set the ground on fire too, creating a temporary obstacle. I think this is planned, but I'm not sure.
  • Smoke grenade. Is used to conceal tanks or blind the enemy. This is also planned I think.
  • EMP grenade. It lies on the ground for a while and stuns any tank that drives close, as a temporary obstacle. I think this is in development.
  • Ice grenade. It covers the ground in ice, making tanks loose traction. It can be used to make it impossible to drive up slopes or to slow down an enemy tank driving away with the flag. If the ice grenade hits a tank it freezes it.
  • Repulsor lift. Not really a grenade but a gagdet that is thrown on the ground and blows a stream of energy upwards so that tanks that drive over it will jump into the air like a Hopper. This can be used in combat to escape from enemies, avoid taking damage, get over walls or on top of buildings, etc. The repulsor lift will stay on the ground as long as it's not destroyed, so that other tanks can use it.
  • Glue grenade. It puts a puddle of glue on the ground and if tanks drive over it they will temporarily be able to drive on vertical walls to climb up on buildings, or drive upside down under bridges. This would create a lot of fun for the gameplay I think! All the buildings in the game will be interesting tactical opportunities.
  • Shield gadget. Deploys a shield that is like a smaller version of Titan's shield.
  • Teleportation gadget. This works by throwing two gadgets, the first creates the entry opening where ever it is thrown (a wall, the ground etc) and the second creates the exit. This can be used to create short cuts into the enemies' base, escape in combat, or to make enemies fall into the teleportation opening and be teleported away.
  • Protective walls. A gadget which creates a protective wall with small openings through which you can shoot. This can be used to create fortified defenses and bunkers, from which you can shoot at enemies. The walls have HP and are destroyed after taking too much damage, and can be repaired by Isida and Paladin's and Dictator's overdrives.
  • Foam grenade. I think this is planned or is at least considered. A prototype is at least developed. It creates a "foam" block on the ground, which can be used as cover or to block a path. I personally think that my protective walls idea is more fun, as you could build bunkers by placing several walls close to each other, but the foam block idea would be a fun addition for sure and I hope it's put in the game.

I know Developers has many ideas for Grenades, but this is not a particular idea of a Grenade... I advice there should be special type of grenades that are only available for Rubies and others only available for Tankoins! The cost of them should be kept low, 1-5 Rubies or Tankoins each Grenade. Could also sell the "event grenades" for Rubies like the Pumpkin and Snowball.

Hazard Drone

This drone should be very hard to earn e.g. a limited amount of times of a year could make a mini-game just to earn this drone, and this will be the last tier, or put this in Trophy missions, and this will be the first "Trophy" drone (Surely I would not put this drone in Epic Containers)

 

Significantly boosts the effects of all types of supplies.

This drone consumes additional units of supplies on activation. After and only if you manually activated a supply and pick up a supply box of the same type you will receieve additional supply bonus. The effect can be stacked up maximum of 3 times if you pick up more supply boxes while the supply is active. Picking up a supply box reduces the cooldown on repair kit. It also lets you share the basic effects of armor boost, damage boost and speed boost supplies with teammates nearby and gives you extra points for that.

 

Basic Effects

 «Boosted Armor» supply's effect strength: (50 → 100), %

 «Boosted Damage» supply's effect increase: (50 → 100), %

 

Effects

Bonus Protection (15→ 40), %

Bonus Damage (5→ 20), %

Bonus Acceleration (10→ 30), %

Maximum Bonus Protection  (120), % (After picking up the supply box 3 times of the same type)

Maximum Bonus Damage  (60), % (After picking up the supply box 3 times of the same type)

Maximum Bonus Acceleration  (90), % (After picking up the supply box 3 times of the same type)

Reduction of Repair Kit cooldown:  (0 → 5), sec (After picking up a supply box)

Consumption when activating Boosted Armor , Boosted Damage , Speed Boost: +3 (in total 4 pieces of a supply per activation)

Reload: 1 sec

Supply sharing radius: (20 → 30), m (Picking up a supply box doesn't share the effect, only manual use of the supply)

Reputation points gained if you share supplies: 4

 

Pros and Cons

Plus.png Lets you have bonus effects of the 3 supplies at the same time

Plus.png You can receive bonus points after sharing a supply with at least one teammate

Plus.png Cuts down on cooldown of repair kit after picking up a supply box

Minus.png Consumes supplies very fast

Minus.png Possibility of wasting time by searching after supply boxes or teammates to share the effect

Minus.png You only receive bonus supply effect if you manually activated them prior to picking up a supply box

 

To avoid misunderstanding: If you pick up a supply before activating your supply manually, It won't give you bonus effect just the basic effects, no matter how many supply boxes you pick up! The bonus effect depends on how many supplies you picked up; Armor: 40-80-120 Damage: 20-40-60 Speed: 30-60-90. After reaching maximum stackablity of 3 the bonus effect won't increase only prolonging the supply active time! If something is not clear, feel free to ask!

 

How do you like this idea for a New Drone?

Might sound OP, but It can be balanced later; The effect can be stacked up maximum of 2 times... or make the bonus supply effects weaker, or the repair kit reduction ability taken away.

I've noticed that I'm trying to activate a repair kit pretty often immediately after dying (I want to use it before dying). Which means, that since I'm dead, the repair kit does obviously not trigger, so it queues up for auto activation. Which I forget 9/10 times.

So, I respawn eventually and see there, the repair kit activates immediately, even though I don't need it to be activated. It's pretty much wasted. I know, this is a player error, but hear me out:

Every time you die, the supply activation queue should be reset. That means that no matter what supply you have queued up, if you die, it's gone, and you have to reselect which one is going to activate. Maybe add a small delay to it or whatever, after dying. Or reset it the second you actually respawn... I think you get my idea.

Personally, I have wasted A LOT of repair kits due to auto activation immediately after respawn, which I forgot to cancel. That's why I think this would be a nice quality of life adjustment.
