Maps and libraries

So I built a big map that I am still tweeking.  I mess with something here, then there, TTT it, make sure everything is in it's place, etc, no "Holes", etc, so on and so forth.

Finishing touches though.  A question for developers and map makers alike.

Sprites.

So, pressed "N", turned off Snap to grid, all good.  I carefully align my sprite tree where I want it, press spacebar, and I'm good, centered on the tile where I want it, so I move over to place the next one when I notice that the sprite I just placed is offset at this angle, I must have not placed it at the right depth, try again.  Repeat this over about 10 tens, many angles, checks, repositions, and nothing, I cannot place it at an angle the remains centered on the tile location I want from all angles.  What am I doing wrong?

Also, Elements.  I thought I had seen a flag somewhere once, but I can find none in the libraries.  Also, the palm trees from Rio, I can't find those either.  Where could I find those?

Am delighted to hear you are working on a map and looking forward to seeing it. Stay tuned for March MapMaking Madness.

Sprites are not 3d objects, they are images that rotate, by your view of them, on an axis. I believe this is your problem, just the illusion that they're off point. If you are still not completely convinced that is the issue, please post some screenshots.

Flags and spawn points are in the Functions folder. If you are using an older version of AE, it wont have them. The new AE automatically loads them first. The palm trees (without the tile underneath) are new and can be obtained through the Map Development Kit from the RU forum. However, the prop comes from a different library than the current TTT, thus it wouldn't work when loading. Keep a map made with MDK library with the MDK tester.

My apologies, I meant to say flag as in an element, a flag pole with a flag on it, not unlike the telephone pole.  Maybe I'm mistaken, I haven't been at this for more than a year, Tanki that is, but I seem to recall one somewhere once.  Maybe I am mistaken.

I guess since I'm on the subject too, I had heard rumors of a litany of element props, cars, and things of that nature that were once available and now gone.  I'll look at the Map Dev Kit first though, maybe all the gems I have been looking for are there.

Thank you for the help though and I will post my issue up in pictures, my explanation and question might be better served in a picture rather than my limited vocabulary in terms of 3d map making, I'm not an expert by any means.  I am glad to hear that someone would like to see the map too though, and I will definitely send it along for you to look at.  Maybe I might be able to put it on test one day and see what folks think of it.  I decided to go with very different experience in this make and try a layout that is not otherwise seen in Tanki to date, hopefully I hit a home run.

So I have placed a tree sprite with "Snap" off inside my "planter", aligned it, and then I roll the camera angle around it to see it from different directions then the one I placed it, and these shots show in order the placement and subsequent two angles and the offset I am seeing.

This shots were taken within Alternativa Editor.  How do I keep the sprite centerline with the middle green circle of grass on the ground?

Right, I've had this problem as well but sprites are hard to work with in general, they're really wired in the way they work.

I'd suggest to load up TTT and see if the sprite in the middle, where you placed it, but like  said, It's an illusion. To be honest I've never used sprites much so I can't think of any other solution.
