Show all players' fps and ping

Well, I know that, that's not what I asked. I asked if, during a battle the ping of one player varies alot. Say, one moment it's a good 40 and another a bad 220 or a worse 350. And in such a case, how can we "read" the final number at the final score?

Or, how can I "prove" someone to be a hacker when his ping varies within seconds...

I'm not sure if the server can accurately record ping data down to the current second- while it currently does a pretty good job, I've noticed that there's a delay before it starts reading lag spikes. Because of that, if someone took a screenshot of a player doing something strange before the server updated the ping, there could be false positives.

It doesn't have to be exact. An average will do just to prove these players are not lagging.

If the player averages 20 over the last 5 seconds then we can categorically say there is no lag.

Here is a player blaming lag for what looks like an attempted cheat.

In this case, if this was indeed lag, how do you explain what I see?

What techniques does the TO server employ for lag?

Does it extrapolate, do nothing and wait for data, rewind time - what?

How can I see this player turn his turret, fire and then end up on the ramp?

^That is a jump hack.

I reported him and he won't receive a punishment. I was not given a proper explanation why.

It's like some players have immunity or some hacks are acceptable in certain circumstances.

I would like some answers on how TO servers deal with lag because I see HACKER in that video all day long.

If he fell off the edge and wobbled for a bit and then somehow jumped onto the ramp without turning the turret and firing then I would have left it alone. I would have said that is the server extrapolating and then reversing time once data came in for that player. But we see him turn his turret and fire first so this can't just be lag. There is hacking here.

Not just that - the movement of this players hull jumping up is entirely consistent with what we know of the hacks that are out there.

Does tanki have a policy of giving leniency or immunity to some players who use hacks are or they always punished for cheating?

Very strange indeed here is an even stranger event .. a tank flipped for imo no obvious reason, might be related to lag or a hack gone wrong .. i only realized that after i saw the video later.

OHH i think i get what your saying now the hacker wont have the excuse of lagg anymore since he has a good connection? due to the fps/ping being shown in the score tab? so you can tell a difference between lag and an hacker a lag would have a low fps/ping and a hacker might have a good fps/ping...?

That's lag, the tank flipped late on your screen. If you watch closely, after your shot, he starts lagging, then flips. The momentum carries him farther.

As u can see i am the only one who shot him so he shouldn't flip at all from the angle i made the shot from and the position of his tank. i hope my posts don't distract from the main topic request.

I know it's confusing from the angle and the way you shot him, but I've done it before, and it's not impossible.

And as for going off-topic, the topic title has "Hacker", so us discussing hackers shouldn't be a problem. ;)

i found a hacker. he is a mammoth with speed hack definetely and jump hack. and maybe teleportation hack look at this screenshot.

Screenshots with violations are illegal to post anywhere but the Violators Section.

  • Anyone who has posted here please edit your post so that you are not quoting the topic post.
  • Just because someone down-voted DOES NOT mean the are a cheater or hacker, it just means they don't like the idea.  <_< So yeah, could you edit that part?

I mean, a system that monitors FPS and Ping for all players is in the game already, and quite useful, but having the info displayed for all players? That might cause even more lag for the not-so-fortunate players who don't have a really good PC. Like me.

Other than that, the idea is valid, and might prove useful for reporting Game Violators.

I agree with this.↑

What Tanki needs more, in my opinion, is a new staff position: "Game Violator Patrol". Unlike Chat Mods and "Game Violator" Mods, this could be a group of tankers that would actively patrol the game for mults/hackers specifically. I know that they say that "Chat Mods do that," but honestly, Chat Mods already have a lot on their plate, and there really aren't many of them, why not create a special group that is specifically assigned this task?

They could either be official staff members, with the privileges to ban players immediately, or they could be a selected and discrete group of trustworthy tankers who would be given Spectator Mode and perhaps some other special tools, like the one suggested in this topic, to get ample evidence of violations and report it to official staff.

Either way though, the main reason why there are extreme amounts of mults/hackers, is because there is minimal chance of them being discovered and punished. True, there are Chat Mods, and there is the risk of a video being taken and submitted to official staff, but Chat Mods are often busy, and many players either don't have the equipment or the patience to take videos of violations and submit them. Besides, of all the hackers and mults that I've reported, of which I'm sure many were NOT just "laggers" and "campers," only a fraction of them have received punishment.

Now, obviously, you're probably never going to get rid of these unlawful tankers completely, but if there was at least something to strike fear into these violators, the game would not be plagued with so many of them. If my suggestion isn't possible, then there needs to be something else, something that will make the chances of getting caught and punished much larger than they currently are.

Frankly saying, i did not like this idea at all...

If every person knows about the connection of the players, its very easy for a player wid good connection (who can apply his mind) to win the battle...

Like ex:

I have 0ping and 60fps, the battle is a TDM or say a DM...so i would find players wid bad connection...i could then stand tight in front of them and kill them, becoz due to their poor conn. my tank has yet not appeared on their screens, but in actual i am there....

U can even observe this now....u see that the tank is lagging....so u kill them first, as they respond too late after u hitting them.....

Isnt it unfair for them?

If a player is getting poor connection from the ISP, then it doesnt matter how much he strives to improve his conn, it would remain bad...isn't it?

And for those noobs out there, dont say that i disagree with the idea becoz i am a hacker.....

Do research before blaming others, u are not supposed to say anything about another player...

..and btw, if u reply to my comment plz quote, i am not following d topic

You can't have 0 ping and it's also a lot harder to kill players with bad connections because you are firing at ghosts while they are away and out of sight. It's you who responds too late.

Do some research before guessing what happens when players lag.

Why do you think that this is important part of this game and score list?

It's do with catching hackers. See this post. Cheating is widespread and I'm searching for tools to help combat them. This was an idea I had to help remove the overused lag excuse which lets hackers off the hook.

Firstly, i said to jus imagine...it was an example....

Secondly, i have myself beared lag and still bear it some times coz i am too far from servers and recieve high ping.......and when the ping is ok sometimes, i find some others who are bearing lag...(u know it when u see the tank turning or moving or hitting)...i cam easily kill them..even an m1 mammy....the laggers move their tabk on their pc, but due to high ping, their request is not/lately send to the server...so in actual, they have not moved!!...and i can kill them...haven't u EVER come across such a situation?? I see it DAILY!!!!

Can we go together to report them?

I am too tired of reporting now...i have dozens of videos of hackers...95% of them being jump hackers....but tired of uploading and reporting....jus due to the reason that the videos go too big in size and then uploading takes time....feels like time waste for me...coz they create another account and try to hack again..
