Reduce power of garage supplies

I got into a match at Kungur and was put into a 3 against 1 position. I came for just completing a mission, but the game got pretty serious because I was getting pretty annoyed at the advantage the other team had against me. I couldn't tell whether they were using drugs along with the supply drops, but seeing a wasp and hornet with at least 2 power ups on everytime I saw them put me off (the other guy was lagging like hell so I just ignored him, poor guy).

I ended up using double power in a few situations, being outnumbered and outsupplied (is that even right to say lol), also considering I was a Shaft against a Twins and Isida and I had to defend and attack at the same time. Backup came 3 minutes towards the end of the game, and I could take it easy from then on, and eventually win.

Unfortunately the next game had a lot of drugging going on so I had to leave so save myself from going mad again.

Warrant Officer five is the lowest, I think.

Something ought to be done. I noticed on my original account the year before that people were running around with overpowered equipment (for their rank).

Warrant Officer five is the lowest, I think.

At Warrant Officer 5, you can also purchase the Tornado (I believe it is called?) kit, which consists of M2 Railgun, M2 Hornet, and Spark.

So essentially, a Warrant Officer 5 is using equipment from 3 ranks, 2 ranks, and 4 ranks respectively, higher. Tell me that's not overpowered. Sami (classyplebs/Arabiannoble) made a video on this, addressing the issues and showing some gameplay with this kit at a Warrant Officer 5 level.

Kid95 reminded me of an issue in the game, that fits this thread:

Problem:

The amount of drops or their drop-delay-time does not scale with the number of players.

So once you are dominated slightly (like 7vs5 on Kungur), this fact about drops (Kungur contains drops for 12vs12) amplifies the dominated battle situation > and soon the enemy starts spawn trapping. It is a kind of a self-propelling circle, that effects we can see every day on the battlefield.

The bad thing for Tanki, is that in a spaw-trap situation even drugs can't help you any more. Using them is a pure waste, as you die within seconds (by the cummulated shots that rain down on you simultaniously, while you have to wait for the reload of your single turret.. even if it is on DD). Thats why I seldom see them beeing used by experienced spawn trapped players.

Two proposals:

A:
Actually, there is no need for drops at all, if the enemy has 35% more players then you have (like 10vs6). Such situations lead to spawn trapping. Then the larger team does not need drops as they dominate anyways, while the loosers would have no chance to get their drops at all.

B (less usefull then A):
the game should reduce the amount of drops according to the number of players in the _smaller_ team
Example:
if you play 8vs5, there should be drops for 2x5 players
if you play 10vs7, there should be drops for 2x7 players

Maybe reads this and could give his thoughts to it.

At least I was lucky there was no spawn trapping in my case, I don't think that would even happen in such a situation. But I second what you say.

I spoke to a random tanker during a game about drugging and he pretty much felt that you couldn't consider the speed boost a drug, something that another tanker joined in in agreement. I assume there's a lot of us who may agree to this as well, considering that the 3 of us were the only ones in the game at that point.

I feel only the speed boost should be available as a power-up and a supply drop, and all the rest as supply drops ONLY. It's a very radical idea, and I doubt it will be put into motion because people buy a lot of power-ups. But I feel that if such a move takes place, more professional and skilled players will be playing and the unskilled ones will either have to learn from them or cry that they cant get any more drugs. It may affect Tankis economy in the near future, but I do think later on more people will join the game with a system that's fairer to any tanker, (edit) and Tanki will have more success and respect.

I'm not winning because I outsmarted my opponent, I'm winning by brute strength. And I don't feel like I'm smarter or stronger by using them, I feel like I'm using a pair of crutches to carry me through a game.

My thoughts exactly. If you pop a drug every now and again -- just for the situation, to counter-drug, or by accident -- that's fine. You're not bad. But if you use them constantly as the only way you get kills/crystals/exp/anything -- if you make drugs your crutch -- that's when you've got a problem.

On the topic of nitros. Yes, I use them a lot. I'm a Wasp M1 fighting M2 turrets, I have to close range quickly. But I don't just use it for that. Sometimes I pop it because I can't ninja around without it. I can't make certain jumps, I can't take certain falls, and I can't fly around corners. But the main reason that I use it is purely for fun. I like going fast. It's awesome. Even if I'm alone in battle, I'll nitro just for the thrill of it. As long as I'm not annoying anybody or using it to "cheat" death, I don't see anything wrong with it.

What's funny is...

My favorite hull, Viking, is MADE for drugging. It becomes both Wasp and Titan with a full tiara.

I honestly don't see why anyone would bother with any hulls other than Wasp, Hornet, or Viking. Wasp is a speedy demon with a diamond tiara, Hornet becomes a tanky buffout, and Viking goes full Rambo mode. The other hulls just aren't as enticing...

And yes, I did say Diamond Tiara. Sue me. XD

I can't take certain falls

Do you know the heli-jump technique? Going down somewhere, while rotating the wasps body like a helicopters blades, in order to stabilize it against too much flipping over?

Helps a lot.. just in case you are out of nitro some day :p

That's exactly what I do, plus it looks cool :D

I love the looks as well :)

But I have to admit, it is pretty hard with WaspM1.. With M2 it gets much easier, and with M3 it is my native style of decending ;)

No, I actually don't, and I've never seen it done. A demonstration would help... maybe we can organize a private battle sometime? :D

My nitros would not dare run out. They fear me too much... XD

I stopped posting here sometime ago.  Point is there are solutions now.  Premium account, create chat site that can be used to get together, agree on a server, meet up, pro battle, no drugs.  Tanki gets paid, we get bonus experience and crystals, everyone wins.  Now, that said . . .

I let my premium account expire and have had trouble renewing it (don't ask, long story).  Been playing as I had been before.  Last night was absolutely ridiculous.  I watched a titan/rail shield up, crawl it's way to the blue base from red in Serpuhov, DD once down the ramp, crawl over the repair kit, come into the blue base, take the flag, begin crawling out, heal up, and nearly make it back to it's own base after 3 HITS from me, and countless hits from Thunders and Smokys on my team.  I don't play with paints, I know nothing about them, they were painted blue, but I'm sure it was some sort of paint that was obviously useful against several of the turrets it was facing. Now, after being hammered CONSTANTLY by a Thunder, a Smokey, a Shaft (me), and I think there was a Rail on our team, though I couldn't tell if they ever took a shot on him.  Point is, even with smart cool downs, the drug thing is out of hand.  Not gonna whine about what to do, I already know, it's what I said above, but that said, THIS IS WHAT IS WRONG WITH DRUGS.  Madness, pure and simple.

Devs, designers, somebody, you gotta rethink this stuff, there is simply too much foolishness related to the use of drugs.  Chunk DA forever for starters, DD should be twice the cool down that exists now, leave DS as is, and half the cool down still, again, on mines.  Heal ups should also be done away with.  When heal ups are removed from the game, that is when true skill will be laid to bare.  When you HAVE to survive on on skill alone to get that flag from point A to B, that's when you see the real players shine.

Anyways, I could soap box this cr*p forever, but it's pointless I suppose, but yeah, if anyone IS LISTENING, again, drugs are officially STUPID after last night, no excuses for them after what I saw.

I'm scared...

*ahem* Well, first of all, welcome back to the topic!  :P

Secondly, yes. I'm pretty sure we all agree on this topic that drugs are extremely overpowered. People say smart cooldowns was the answer to drugging, yet I almost constantly see people with a Diamond Tiara running around Rambo-style and popping health kits every two seconds. I wouldn't complain so much if the health kits weren't a 100% heal.

Tanki just didn't pay attention to the numbers. If you're using DD, that means you're as strong as two tanks. If you're using DA, you're twice as deadly. If you use both, you may as well have cloned yourself, since you're dealing twice the damage AND having twice the armor. And if you health-kit above that, you're basically cheating death for "both" tanks, meaning that you may as well have four tanks at your disposal. It's a 400% power boost. That's freaking overpowered, no matter what anyone says.

To put this into perspective -- an M0 Hornet has about 83 health (82.94 to be exact). With double armor, that increases to 166 health points -- THE SAME as a Hornet M3. And if you use a health kit just before you die, you can get (at most) another 165 health points; over 330 points, or TWICE an M3 Hornet! That means that a buying Grefreiter with drugs can be twice as durable as an ethical Major General who doesn't drug.

The numbers don't lie. Tanki is pay-to-win.

-_- *sigh*

Now, fortunately, that doesn't happen very often, and even when it does, if you're a smart player (like muah XD) you can avoid sellouts. But they still happen, and regardless of how skilled you are, a 400% power boost is just too much to fight against. So yes, drugs need to be nerfed desperately.

-

Here's a suggestion: the armor and damage boosts start out as only 10% boosts. Every time you rank up, the boost increases by 3%. Since Tanki has 30 ranks, at the end of the day (at Generalissimo) you'll have your 100% boosts. (The reason being nerfing drugs entirely would really mess with ESports). This way drugs aren't overpowered at the lower ranks, and though higher-ranked players will always have an advantage, drugging won't be such a bother.

Also the price for the drugs should start off small and increase as their effectiveness increases.

If you don't play ctf, you don't need nitros, nitros themselves aren't really needed if you have hornet or wasp
