Reduce power of garage supplies

In the past I have joined losing teams using Isida and it made a huge difference in the outcome - often turning a losing team into a winning one since people spend less time having to respawn. Sometimes that is all that is needed - some variation or addition of a turret that isn't in play.

Psychological aspects

 

Many years ago marketing experts were using the "subliminal or hidden advertising" method. It was a technique so that the personal human attention wasn't focused on the wanted "message", as it was somehow "hidden". Hidden means that it was in just some frames on video or in the background of another main message. (read literature for more)

 

Tanki is actually using that NOW. Did you noticed that many promo material (like V-Log) often show xmas trees on victorious or good tanks, or battle situations? Did you noticed that when talking about a turret performance they say like "on DA it can shoot kill a tank". Together with that there are always promotions on supplies and the PRO battle defaults are with drugs activated.

They promote the figure of the "warrior" as the drugged tank in many ways. They give the worst message they can, especially considering the average age of players!

 

Well ... thinking that all Tanki game is based on drugs is pretty sad! Tanki has infinite tanks, turrets, paints, MUs ... I know that drugs are consumables, but are they really the almost only Tanki earnings? I hope not! In a career to gismo, a player will earn about 1-1.2 million crystals, which is maybe enough for a M4 combo with 1 or 2 paints. Every player you see is interested in at least 3-4 combos, so there is quite a lot of spending possibility just on the game itself, even considering sales!

 

Why don't they make a pay pass for test servers too ... or a fee for every friend you add?

Before I enter a non-pro battle, I take a look at the score board in the battle overview.

 

Usually the points decrease more-or-less linearely from the top ranked player to the lowest one.

If I see that the top ranked players have about twice the score of their successors.. I know I just spoted the borderline between druggers and non druggers in that team. In the picture in the spoiler below this can be seen pretty obvious.

And then.. I do not enter the batte.

Of course running away solves no problem.

But I am not willed that such drug-abusing guys earn crystals on my time.

That was a major misconception of what I said and what it's like to joining a losin team. Feeling like a somehow skilled player does not mean that all others are morons.. and sometimes one more skilled player in a losing team can turn the battle (the turn, ofcourse being the outcome of collective work, not just one player).

 

Make no mistake, there are only two cases of one player defining the outcome of a battle no matter what side he joins:

1. a very experienced player while all the others are seriously inexperienced in regard to him, and

2. a serial drugger (best combo / paints + tons of drugs) when nobody else is like him.

The battles quoted earlier, it was obvious that there was no chance in hell to turn the results around well before the battles ended. You do not suddenly capture twenty flags in the last few minutes after you are being beaten into a pulp during the battle.

I think that if the PRO pass cannot become cheaper, by some strange unknown method of economics, perhaps the ability to disable supplies should be free and no longer a PRO feature. That way it will be easier to find ways of escaping supply users, it will lessen complaints while keeping the vast customizable features (like Parkour and 2-3-4 supply use and custom flag/CP amount) to PRO battles.

 

It wouldn't hurt to experiment on this, at least for a few days.

Don't be ridiculous!!

 

That was the unlimited drug pass's purpose. :P

100% agree if we play a 15 min bettle if we shoud drug then we lost 2000 or 3000 cry pr bettle and or ern is just 200 300 cry

what shoud we do Upgrats of wepon or drug ? 00000

Economically drugging is a losing proposition - spending crystals on a turret or hull works out better in the long run as you don't need to keep spending.

 

But reality is that even someone with M3 is going to get hammered by someone drugging with lower classes of weapons.

Guys, no matter how much you rant or shout the reality is that this Drug Abuse is not going to change. The main reason for it being the economics, developers of game want to milk as mush as they can from you and for that they are taking the help of behavioral psychology, they make drug lords powerful so that they can induce you to buy the drugs or induce you to buy the micro-upgrades. Its a simple case of economics, if developers want to do away with drugs they can always make drug free as default option and make PRO-Battle a DRUG only battle, but they wont do that as it will hurt their pockets. I am seriously considering leaving this game as this game has serious imbalances and favors paid players a lot more. Take for example Hammer and Viking combo, because hammer is new they have given it phenomenal power and as usual people flocked to buy it then they tweaked the game in favor of heavy hulls so people again flocked to buy viking's, now i can bet that any tank in top 3 has to be either a hull of viking or hammer as these are the money makers for the developers and the crystal makers for the drugged players. This game has huge imbalances and honest players are at mercy of druggers.

there has to be some way of showing our discontent to them, because just stating opinion in the forums is not helping.

i dont know, what if we started to send dislike in their vlogs both in the forums and on youtube or something like that, so that we can gain their attention. 

please give some better suggestions, as these seem kinda extreme.

Well if it was, it had the opposite effect on me and put me off of rushing to progress further up the ranks:  I had to keep pressing buttons just to keep up, not my cup of tea at all - even though the drugs were free.  

 

I was a small-time buyer at one time, not anymore - but I know I'm not part of their target demographic so I'm sure they won't lose any sleep over it.

 

The imbalance caused by OP drugging is only part of many problems with the way this game is set up. However good Tanki think this game is (and there are many impressive things about it), it could be so much better...

Quite agree with you!
 
But you said "this Drug Abuse is not going to change" ... I don't agree. It will change for one of these two reasons:
1 - Devs will realise the unbalancing frustration, the unsatisfaction of the customers and the abandoning of players ... and they make a serious balancing
2 - Devs will NOT realise the problem and the game will fade down ... the change will be due to "no more Tanki"
 
Obviously I really do hope in the first!

"STRATEGY"

 

I started some time ago (with little success) with a new playing "strategy" ... a very sad thing:
 
- I avoid battles of more than 15 min
- I do not enter a battle with a +5 flag difference
- I do not enter a battle with a score of >4 to 0 or with zero on one side
- I do not enter a battle in either team if the first 1 to 4 top scorer are twice the other
- I do not enter a battle when the bottom scorer of one team is higher than the top score of the other team
- I do not enter a battle when I see a name I recognise (drugger)
- I do not enter a battle when a team scored more than 3 flags in 5 minutes (it means there is NO battle)
 
 
Now ... this is what I MUST do in order to try (ONLY TRY) to have some fun in Tanki ... but ... is really this way a game should be? Are these the limitations for a good gameplay? Is this a FREE-TO-PLAY game?
 
Let's note that with these criteria I often stay on the window because I CAN'T PLAY at all!!!
 
Obviously there are also some problems like hacking and multing, but on this Tanki is putting his effort on, to prevent and avoid them. And these are not problem caused by Tanki.
 
Instead drugging and game unbalance is!
 
In the last pages Devs preferred not to talk. They don't want to face the problem, because it is a problem what we are talking about. Please Devs realize it ... it is a problem! Also, over 1.000 posts and 13.000 readers should make you somehow think about it!
 
 
Well, I think that this kind of strategy is just the starter to the end. I mean that I am "fighting" to keep on playing Tanki (because I love the game itself), but it is very hard and frustrating.
