Ideas for Turrets!

Problem #1:
Does that sound like something practical? Not at all, we let ourselves consider things like Freeze and Isida actual turrets, but I don't think I'll ever be able to imagine a tank with a bottle of glue on it.

 

Problem #2:
This update will totally takeover/replace the concept of Freeze, with the "Gluegun" in the game, Freeze would just be "the weaker Gluegun that does some damage".

Thanks, but no thanks.

 

Don't like the idea, sorry.

So a projectile-based Freeze clone?

Also there's already a topic for new ideas for turrets.

There's a topic for ideas aswell, you can post you ideas there, or create your own topic. So to by turrets, you can post your new turret in that topic you mentioned, or you can create your own topic.

*Facepalm*. The forum flooder has returned. Please just stop. This idea is virtually pointless. So the gun does no actual damage? What is the point?

My idea:

Net Launcher (Obviously not the name, but I couldn't come up with something cool)

Basically it fires an electrified net that stuns the tank for a little. The clip holds 4 nets, and then it has to reload, similar to Hammer's reload mechanics.

 

Advantages:

-Medium range

-Good rotation speed

-Stuns enemies

-Low recoil

-Medium DoT

 

Disadvantages:

-Low fire rate

-Low initial and slightly less than average overall damage

-Almost no impact force

As far as I can tell, those are fairly balanced... tell me if you have any suggestions!

Note: The damage is not per shot, it's total from the clip, which has a 1 second delay between shots.

I wanted to bring this up again for reviews, since I really liked the idea. I'll go ahead and add stun times (Trust me, they're not that long)

M0:  .25 seconds

M1:  .5 seconds

M2:  .75 seconds

M3:  1 second

M3+: 1.1 seconds (Since you'll be stunned for longer than the time between shots)

 

The reason for the short stun is that I didn't want it to take the place of Freeze, but have a significant effect on the enemy tank. 

Interesting Mechanics for the hull:

If you get hit in mid-air with this, you can't rotate your hull or shoot, you just have to wait until you aren't stunned.

When stunned, you stop completely and have to begin accelerating again after recovering from the stun.

Stops turret rotation completely when stunned.

 

So I see it being good for mid-range and attacking roles, since you can stop defenders from being able to kill the flag holder, and you can stop the enemy flag runner from returning to base. Tell me what you guys think!

There should be a new turret called the twins xt m3 it would do a little more damage then the twins m3 the coller of the bullet would be white pls like my topic

I see XTs are made just for best combos of the turret and hull (so there are only Mammoth, Dictator and Titan hulls that don't have XT version, but nothing work best with Twins, Ricochet, Freeze etc..), I think that Shaft would be XT with Dictator. So Dev's, your choice, only one gun work great with heavy hulls ;) :)..

So the gun does no actual damage? What is the point? 

Lets assume it deals no damage, then you can use it to play 1vs1, while you wait for a real battle.

Any comments on this one:

 

 

Scorpion (Harpoon)

 

You shot a harpoon with an attached steel rope towars another tank.

 

- If you hit, you are attached to each other. The rope can extend and has a max lenght or maybe 20 meters.

- As long as you keep attached, he looses health at a constant rate (electro shock through the steel rope)

- You have two rapid shots (reload from shot 1 to shot 2 = 0,5 sec), so you can keep two harpoons active. If you are attached to two targets, each receives half the damage

- You can pull a tank by the steelrope - or he (they ;) )  can pull you around.

 

If you shot the 3rd time:

- the ropes will detach from you, and still connect the two targets you've hit (rope length = 2x 20m = 40m)  :)

- after you detached them, you have a 4..5 sec reload

- the targets will not loose health any more, but it is a little nasty.. if you attach the fast wasp-flagrunner to it's heavy viking supporter :P

- those ropes detach 5 seconds after they've hit a target

- ropes can be burned or froozen (3sec to desintegrate). Isida cant detach them, but heal of course.

 

I like the gameplay that will arise by using this

Turret Name: Flipper

Description: If any of you have watched Robot Wars or Battle Bots, you will notice that there are some bots that are designed to flip other robots over, so that they are upside down and helpless. That is my concept for this idea. This is a turret that slides part of its turret under the enemy tank and flips them so high and makes them go upside down! Kills are counted if the flipped tanker dies due to the flip! To counter, you need to be in close range, as in TOUCHING the other turret. If the enemy hull weighs more than your hull, they don't fly as high and are less likely to flip. You can use a heavier hull to counter that, but then you'll have a harder time engaging faster hulls. Oh! And also, you cannot flip your own team's tanks to protect against trollers and gamethrowers ruining your battle. It can only be used in parkour mode to catapult other tanks for some sick flips and tricks! As a fun feature, you can also flip yourself back up if you are upside down or at your side. Very useful for battle and parkour!

That would be pretty fun, but it seems pretty limited in application. I would personally just equip it to a wasp and chase down enemy flag carriers; if it doesn't flip them it'll at least mess up their driving. Since it does no damage, it would be a high-risk high-reward thing, which is something that many people don't really like (Hence twins' popularity). It's a good idea, but I don't think it really has any chance at being implemented.
