Well, ww2 lead to the death of 60Mil people which I honestly think wasn't much of a dent to the total pop(2Bil) of that time. I believe ww3 wouldn't cause much of a difference(population wise). 

Our equipment has gotten much stronger than WWII, More advanced weapons,advanced weaponry built in Tanks, Increase in Nuclear weapons and many more things. If more Atomic bombs were used it would devastate millions of people which will put a small dent in the population, People who fight in the war also, Millions of them will die combined numbers from all nations would result in a massive amount. Only 2 Atomic bombs were used in WWII, Could you guess how much could be used in WWIII?
