Note: Actually, I was considering to make this guide as a part of my other guide which I am writing nowadays. :)

I am making a guide which has 4 parts, 1 main and 3 alt. But anyway, this is ready and I decided to add this!

When the others are ready, I will combine them with links.

CAMPİNG [GUIDE]

This guide is for defining camping and explaining what it is. I made this guide with my ideas, so this guide is not official as community. But whatever other people say, this guide will help you to camp, which makes it effective. Please comment…
What is “camping”?
This is not a clear… There are lots of definitions about camping. However, today as a camper, I will write my definition.  If your definition is different, please write here.

Camping is playing with considering and managing a limited area of the map. I mean; if you are a camper, you are trying to wait, defence, use and spy a limited area.
But, community generally thinks that camping is doing this definition for a long time, and without changing the position.

This game can not be though without camping. As you can’t think a planet without gravity, you can’t consider battlefield without camping.

Let me explain more

Some Important Words Which Will Be Explained:
(These definitions are defined by me, different players can change this)

Oqb3Q5.png

Camper: A player who camps
Camp Area: The area which you use for rounding
Sight area: The are which you spy, effect and be effected
Sight Area and Camp Area doesn’t have to be seperated
Camp Point: The point which you are waiting
Short Time Camp: Camp which you didn’t mean as camp
Long Time Camp: The Camp you think as camping
Short Range Camp: If the camp area and the sight area is not seperated, this is a short range camp activity.
Long Range Camp: On this camp, the camp and the sight areas are almost seperated.

Camp Area
Camp area is the area which you are rounding. This area can be too small (just a camp point), or can be bigger (even a side of the map).

d5rWYL.png

A good camp area should contain some important qualities, but doesn’t have to contain related to players power.

1.A good camp area should have big enough and good located sight area.
2.Also should have enough security to stay there long enough.
3.A good camp area should be easy to reach and rounding in, but should be seperated enough from the sight area, also entries to the area should be easily managed.
4. Supply drops should be reachable; if possible, also your teammates should be reachable.
EDİT: 5. A good camp point shouldn't contain spawn point.

Sight Area
A sight area is where you see from the camp area.

A good sight area should contain some important qualities, but doesn’t have to contain related to players power.

1. A good sight area should be large enough.
2. Also should be good located related to the battle type, locations of the opponent team, target points, spawns etc…

For example, if your sight area contains much ways between team bases, contains control points, spawn points of the opponents, and if you can manage this area with your gun, this sight area is good for you.

Camp Point
Camp point is where you stay. This can be all of the camp area, or just where you stay.
Everypoint which you stay is a camp point.

Short Time Camp
This is a camp type which you don’t recognize you are camping. You may wait for a 3 second to check the area, or take a box, maybe get some repair… Even on this situation, you have to consider camping rules.
I will explain “How to short time camp?”

Long Time Camp
On this camping, you know you are camping on purpose. This is called at the community “camping”.
I will explain “How to long range camp?”

Short Range Camp
On this camping, sight area and camp area are not seperated(as I said, this may not be a good idea, but this is about what you equip)
Especially heavy tanks, sitting on a flag or CP are related with this type of camping.
I will explain “How to short range camp?”

5d0oWq.png

Long Range Camp
On this camping, sight area and camp are seperated. This type of camping is especially preferred by
long range turrets and players who covers a large and important area.
I will explain “How to long range camp?”

NOTE: These types of camping ways doesn’t have to be seperated. Players can change and combine them.

How to?

Short Time Camp
This is just waiting for a short time while moving. This is just a “tactic”. Players may do this for lots of reasons. Some of them:

1.Taking a drug
2.Waiting for SCD
3.Waiting for a help from teammates
4.To busy opponent
5.Finding a point to shot in “vs” battles or similar situations
6.Just looking around
7.Waiting for the new flag

You can find new reasons

All camp area, camp point and sight area rules are the same.
There are some other points different from long time camping

1. As community’s opinions, we can say “you are not camping”, so where you stay doesn’t have to be a very good camp point. Just choose a good point which is “secure” due to current battlefield situation. “Secure” is important because you are usually more useful when you are alive.
What is “secure”?
This is the situation which you don’t get damage from the opponent, or which the opponent don’t notice you if this is necessary.

2.When you reach your aim, you should keep moving.

3.If the battlefield situation changes badly for you, you shouldn’t keep camp point.
Don’t forget: “You are not camping”

4.Don’t let opponent to be ready to what you will do.

5.If you have to die, or can’t survive, you should give the highest damage on team games(for DM, please check this topic:
in progress...
How would this happen?
Take drops if you are alone, try to kill weakest opponent.

6. If your death will be beneficial for the team, forget  “secure” part.

Long Time Camp
This is what the community calls as “camping”. On this situation, you are doing camping on purpose and as a “strategy”.

If I start explain “why to long time camp?” this would be another 3 pages or writing. :D
Anyway, hard to explain, but everyone knows why to long time camp.

There are some other points different from short time camping

1.You are camping, so where you camp is where you want to stay for a long time duration.
This point should be both beneficial to stay and easy to stay. If not, you are waiting for nothing.
Sometimes where you stay may be hard tos tay, then you should consider the beneficion.
“Security” is a lot more important than short time camping.
Long Time camping is more about current map, not the current battlefield situation. Opponents can change your behaviors on camp area. When you feel uneffective, don’t camp there.

2. You should stay until you lose your effect. You may change ıf you think you will be more effective.

3.If where you stay is too important, try to keep there. As you need to keep points, you shouldn’t camp on too hard points(unless considering beneficion)

4.What you do is clear. Even this rule is the same as short time camping, keeping the point may be more important than preventing the opponent to try.

5.The same rule with short time camping.

6.Your alive version is usually more beneficial.

7.When the opponent learns your position, they may avoid your sight area, try to change positions which covers different sight areas. While doing so, your shouldn't be seen from the opponent. However, even they see, you may need to change...

Short Range Camping

As you notice, any range of camping can be also any time of camping.

As I said; in this type of camping, sight area and camp area are not seperated.
Where you more is also where you shoot, or where you get attacked.

Players are doing this type of camping because this can be more efficient than moving without a camp area.

This type of camping is done by heavy tanks with short range and medium range turret(related to the previous sentence)
CPs, Flags, open areas on small maps are good places to do.

What you should consider are:

1. As you are together with your opponent on your camp area, you shouldn’t face with too much opponent if not necessary.
To do so, try to avoid open fire(I mean, the fire comes from medium and long range turrets around.)
and try to make outnumbered.  Primary targets on your camp area are:
1. Isidas
2. Turrets shots continuously: Twins, Smoky etc…
3. Lighter tanks
4.Tanks which you don’t have defence
5.Targets which you have longer range
6.Tanks with DP
7.Shafts on sniper mode
8.Railguns on warm-up

2. Try to use your every oppurtunity. For example:
Knockback opponents
Push opponents
Take drops
Etc…

To add something:
To avoid open fire, you should use not only walls nad buildings to cover some of your sides(so, you can shoot to your other sides) but also you can use other tanks. Vertical aim prefers nearer opponents.

Long Range Camping

On long range camping, camp area and sight area are seperated because long rangers need to get security from the map. Also, your targets are not on the area where you are moving. (camp area)

If you don’t want to play on middlefield, or you don’t want to attack on short or medium range, long range camping is one of the most effective ways.

What you should consider are:

1. As on short range camping, you still may get damaged from sight area, but you are more avare than a short range camper, so you should decide avoiding or not. If you have no help, you should avoid with the least lost on sight area.
To do so, a help from teammates, heavier hulls, drops and things to "lean" would help.
Another way, you should use short times to shoot to dangerous area, especially reload times of the opponents help there.
2. You should keep opponent far from the camp area. Mines and teammates can help.
Another way, you will do this with your gun.
As you see the difference from short range and long range camping types, one of them fights with opponents on sight area, the other one does this with the opponents on the camp area.
Primary targets on the sight area:
1.Your primary targets related to your duty:
Flag carriers, attackers and attack supporters etc...
2.Threats for you, especially:
Hit-and-Run targets(Railgun, thunder)
Someone who wants to reach the camp area
Other targets which shoots you continously
3.If you have to, try "shot-and-hide" tactics.

4.As I said: "When the opponent learns your position, they may avoid your sight area, try to change positions which covers different sight areas. While doing so, your shouldn't be seen from the opponent. However, even they see, you may need to change..."

There are lots of things to say, but as I said, this is hard to say everythink! Well, I am sure about that you will add something! :) Please add something useful, thanks for help!

Good job with this man. It's a long article and you seem to have put effort into it:)

I believe that a camper is one who just stays in one specific part of the map generally for a long time, and doesn't move around much and also has poor awareness of his surroundings.

Still, as you say, everyone has their own definition.

Yes, good point. :)

I just wanted to help people to use this "knowledge" while fightning on middlefield :)
