3GB RAM & a 512MB GPU doesn't sound like a (semi) gaming PC.. even mine has better specs and I don't call it (semi) gaming

Whilst the specs are pretty average, he did get a decent graphics card along with it. That's probably the logic he's used in referring to it as a 'semi-gaming' PC.

If u gonna buy this ALL original, directly from the company,

It should had costed u approx 3000 USD to the max...

How much did u pay?

3000 USD for that set-up?! Are you serious? Now that would be overpaying... Edited by GoldRock

A correction - USD

And i said that if he went for EVERYTHING original, that too, bought directly from the company....so including all costs...that made it 3k..

Yeah, that was my phone's 'autocorrect' at work >.<

And my point still stands - I highly doubt all of those separate components add up to 3000 USD in total. Yes, that's including all costs. You could expand on how you arrived at that figure if you wish to prove otherwise...

Oh, ok, but that involves a different currecy, i found the cost in INR and converted it in USD...want me to elaborate? (Wondering that if i had to do it, it might take long)

Go ahead, 'cause I do still think that price tag seems a little high...

A PC with those specifications would cost at most 400-450€, the one I have right now costed 489€ and it has i5-2310 2.9GHz, nVidia GT630 1GB, 4GB RAM..

I'm getting one for 990€ soon tho. Time to upgrade to a better one. i5-4690 3.5GHz, 8GB RAM, nVidia GTX960 4GB

Note that he's got some pretty expensive software with it, but that lot should still be purchasable at 1000-1500 dollars...

Whoops!

just rechecked my calculation, looks like i made a mistake in adding the numbers...i previously added them manually..but used a calculator this time and found it to be different...still its more than $ 1.5k...here goes the details: (the currencies are in Indian Rupee, i will show u the conversion later), (also the figures are an approx values)

AMD Athlon 64 X2 2.2 Ghz Dual Cores - Rs. 2500

3GB Ram - Rs. 6000

HDD 1000GB  Rs. 4000

DVD Drive Read&Write  Rs. 1700

With 500 Watt Power Supply - i dont think that this matters (except his electricity bill), so free of cost.

Graphic Card Nvidia Geforce 7800GTX -  Rs. 38000

Microsoft Window 7 Ultimate 64Bit Edition  - Rs. 28000

Microsoft Office 2013 Professional Plus Pre-installed  Rs. 31000

Kodi/XMBC Preinstalled  -  free of cost

so this sums up to be   2500 + 6000 + 4000 + 1700 + 38000 + 28000 + 31000 = Rs. 111,200

and Rs.111,200 = $ 1750.08

That overall price tag seems much more reasonable, though you could probably reduce it to the range I gave by shopping around, taking advantage of discounts and buying multiple components together. Thanks for clearing that up ^_^

I wouldn't pay more than £150 for that piece of garbage, and Im not even kidding.

Heck, i have 4GB RAM, AMD Athlon X4, 500W PSU, 2 cases, a R7 250 1GB GPU all just lying around...(all these costed me £170)

You overkilled the power supply... no way that thing will demand 500W.

Ahh well, my power supply is bit overkill aswell.

If you intend to buy a decent gaming station for the money, focus your money on the graphics card and motherboard.

I've seen gamers who use an i3 and can get excellent performance because their graphics card is very good.

Until they start video editing lol...

I'm going to buy a new laptop soon. Its specs are: Intel i7 (2nd gen), 8 GB ram, 1 TB internal memory, 1 GB video memory, AMD 4048 MB graphics memory, and fingerprint scanner. May sound like a budget-killer PC, but it's just $2. Yeah, 2$. It's currently on auction and I'm the only and the highest bidder :D

Btw, auction ends tomorrow

That doesn't seem like i7, 8GB RAM, 4GB GPU, more like i5, 4GB RAM, 1GB GPU

Well the dude just asks uss a question without telling the the amount he payed for it.

Can't answer the question if I don't know what he paid, if he paid £5.00 then NO if he paid £6,000 then YES.

Even with your re-calculation, that is extremely expensive for them components.

I wouldn't pay more than a couple of hundred pounds for them parts - they're not particularly good, although the graphics card is kind of respectable.

Whatever you paid, its not a great comp, 3GB RAM is nothing now, 8 year old comp at home has 3GB...! And dual core AMD I wouldn't touch with a barge pole. I paid £500 for my laptop with an Ivy Bridge (3rd gen) quad core i7. :D
