Ideas for Missions!

This mission looked like it was clearly meant to be challenging and the most time-consuming.

To keep with that, the best solution for both the players and devs' best interests would be to for it to place in the Top 2 of either team. That way, 4 people are eligible for the point, instead of the current 3.

Moreover, as the number on the winning team has been dropped to 2, competition will be more fierce. On the losing team, you now don't have to worry about your team winning anymore, and it's 2 spots to get.

Or just allow the player to change their weekly missions.

Or just allow the player to change their weekly missions.

Then everyone would just change the mission. And I'm sure that that mission is one of the things that keeps players playing longer. Not gonna be worth it for the devs. The only way forward with this is to please the players more than the devs, and my suggestion does that and not to a large extent.

I'm sure there are players who seem to be in 1st place on a winning team all the time, so they'll probably continue to do that.

As for those who can't or don't have the time to finish this mission, they'll be the ones that are at a disadvantage, and soon they'll just quit because they can't compete with no lifers and big buyers, and exploiters.

Also it encourages team sabotaging.

If it really up to me, I would've just removed that stupid mission, but I guess there are players who are just sick minded and want their daily dose of the mission.

So it's best that the devs add a change button for the weekly mission. That way casuals or people that are just unable to get the top spots can just do the other weekly missions in that category, and the no lifers can still get their daily dose of the challenge complete.

Good idea. Like you said above, it would be better if developers added a button that allows players to change weekly missions only once, so that players who struggle to complete the top 3 mission, can enjoy completing another one which can be more manageable for them.

I'm with this 100%. Unfortunately, similar ideas have been suggested many times before to make this mission more bearable, but to no avail.

My previous strategy for completing it was to play in DM because it's easier there. But with all these challenges recently it's becoming more difficult to pull that off.

I get so damned sick of MatchMaker TIMING OUT while waiting to enter games. I suppose it's because MM is too goddamned stupid to launch a game that isn't absolutely crammed full. So on nights like tonight (when there are only 2000 players TOTAL - yes, Tanki IS dying, and the #1 factor is MatchMaker), you can't even get INTO a game to finish your missions. I've timed out twice just trying to get into an "assault" battle. I could finish them up and get assigned new missions at system restart - but goddamn worthless MatchMaker makes me wait 3 minutes, then it gives me the timeout error message and won't let me into a game.

Solutions:

#1 Get rid of MatchMaker. It hasn't worked. It's killing the game

#2: If you're not smart enough to get rid of MatchMaker, at least set the timeout to 60 seconds, and if you don't have "full" teams, launch the game anyway.

# Award 100,000 Tankcoins to anyone who suffers a MatchMaker Timeout while waiting for a game to start.

Would that be so bad?  You seem to think that forcing people to play crappy missions they don't want to play is a good thing.

With the addition of the odious Juggernaut missions, we now have MORE missions I don't want to play.  How about letting people change missions 5X instead of 1X

Lots of good suggestions have been made - but the devs still give us crap.

ASL /is/ kinda buggy. I sometimes just load forever until I get removed for inactivity. It's not that big of a deal and just try again (the problem isn't 100% of the time), or try a different mode.

MM system is flawed for sure. That doesn't mean it can't be revamped.

WHEEZE. Is this a joke? People will just click DM right after the server restart for free Tankoins. Tanki doesn't owe you /anything/ just because you have a short temper and /MUST/ get put in a battle.

ASL isn't just "kind of buggy"  It fails about 20% of the time which makes it "alphaware".  No reputable software developer in America would dare launch software that failed 1 time out of 5.  Okay, Tanki's in Russia, and I suppose their standards (if they have any) are much lower.  But there's still no excuse for such sloppiness.  And it's not as if it's a RECENT bug.  This problem has been around as long as MatchMaker - which has existed for entirely too long.  And yes, MatchMaker is flawed - so flawed that we were better off without it.  I agree it can be revamped - to nothing.  If it has to exist, it shouldn't make people wait to get into games.  I remember when you could choose your map, choose your game, play a game and at the end, play again in 10 seconds.  Not just sometimes.  EVERY time.  I suppose I've seen some 10 second starts with moron-maker, but only in the "Quick Battle" option.  The general rule is 1-2 minutes... that is, 6 to 12 times worse than it used to be.  If you had a car that could do 100mph, and the Tanki team said, "Hey!  Let's fix that for you!" and they gave you back the same car, but now it could only do 8 to 16 mph - would you consider that an improvement?  Yeah, I know you don't care how long you wait, because you apparently have nothing better to do than wait... which makes me wonder - why would you play any games at all?  Why don't you just sit and stare at your computer screen and do nothing?  Just turn off your computer and stare at the blank screen.  Because that's what MatchMaker does - it just forces you to wait.

As for timing out - yes, I'm serious.  And no, that wouldn't work.

Please everyone can you play Tanki Online using the HTML5 version of the game because it is very stable. The Flash version of Tanki Online is buggy and crashes. As the Flash version is slowly being phased out, more and more features will stop working. In the end, Flash will no longer work at all, so be prepared for HTML5 now. All battle modes work perfectly well on HTML5. From Assault to juggernaut, everything run smoothly. If you haven't tried HTML5, this is your chance to try it out now here: https://tankionline.com/play/

I think we can all agree that we need more diversity in both daily and weekly missions. Hate to always have to play battle modes I dont even like. I've always been bad with DM I guess...

Seriously - why does matchmaker put people on crappy teams, then missions penalize them by requiring them to be on the "winning team" to complete the "Top-3" mission?

Players should NOT be penalized just because they're on a team of LOSERS.

This is insane.

Why should someone who scores 155 fewer points get a "top 3" mission completion when you don't?

Because teamwork towards the objective?

No offense, but Magnums aren't exactly known for doing anything in the match besides farming kills. >_>

Also, why post on 3 different accounts?

That's a little like saying "People who have handles that start with "Gray" generally  don't have any clue what they're talking about."

You have no idea how I play magnum.  And the fact that you can't even stay on topic  leaves me wondering - is your attention span so short that you forget what you've read before you hit the end of a sentence?

Point is, the "Top 3" are NOT the top 3 It doesn't make a goddamn bit of difference how well you play, how much "teamwork" you exhibit, how many kills you make - you cannot compensate for a team full of losers. or even ONE loser who can bring the whole team down by just enough that your efforts go unrewarded.  This is a mission that might as well be "Be one of the top 3 scorers on your team - and have your team's color picked at random."  I gave a prime example of that.  But maybe your mind wandered off.

Allow players to reject up to three missions without penalty.

With tanki adding more (pointless) missions, you can get screwed on the mission selection pretty bad if you don't have more vetos.

For example, suppose you hate Deathmatch games. (I do.)

With the latest changes you can get

"Finish 3 Games in DeathMatch" (Rejected - I hate DeathMatch)

"Score 1000 points in DeathMatch" (Rejected - would you quit with the DeathMatch already?)

"Score 800 crystals in DeathMatch" (Rejected - God DAMN!  What's with the effing DeathMatch?)

"Do 100,000 worth of damage in DeathMatch" (Screw this.  Wonder what's on television?)

If Tanki is trying to make players miserable, dealing a steady stream of crap and making them pay to avoid it is a good way.

Looks like someone doesn't read the Patch Notes. Or maybe the Patch Notes are wrong and there are still DM missions in the game. or maybe you're making this up? Who knows at this point.

They're still in the game and I'm not sure what patch notes have to do with it. The only thing that changed is addision of damage missions and lowering the frequency of "top 3 places" missions.
