Complaint about weekly missions for containers

 

Take one of the top 3 places in the winning team in 15 battles. This is  NOT a personal mission this is a team mission, if you have a bad team, no matter how  great you play and loose you do not achieve your mission. When 40-50% of battles still have cheaters in and many who go absent for 7 minutes but finish the battles this mission is punishment .

 

You have already (it feels like) increased death match missions which i can not stand to play ever, and regularly have to buy to swap out of: but this I can not swap out and would do every time I hate it it sucks the fun out of playing and I'm sure it does for other people to

 

 

Being made to rely on other players to complete a mission is just not fair, and i will vote with my feet

 

You need to remove this mission

Bro, I know that the part with the winning team REALLY   sucks, but  if you begin to be good in DM, this mission will be much easier since thre are no teams. It's much guaranteed if you get to the TOP 3 places

I'm very upset with this Top 3 x15 mission. I got it on the worst account possible and I already want to quit. These Overdrives are making it so hard (on that account) to get in the top 3 even in DM. I tried for hours during two times of the day. I had a bit of motivation from a daily mission that required me to finish in the top 3 three times. What didn't help was the reward for that mission. 59 Double armours. I have over 5,000 double armours on that account which is the most of any supply I have there. 

 

After so many hours, I was able to get 2/3 completed on the mission. I tried to complete it during 7 DM battles but all of them ended with me being in the middle or the bottom 6. I was so close The very last battle I did before giving up was this one:

I was so freaking close. So freaking close. I was tied with damn_G on 23 kills but in the last 2 seconds, he got a kill and made me go down to 4th place. I tried to kill one of the two players in front of me before he may have gotten another kill but my shot killed neither and everything fell apart there. 

 

 

MM put me in Legend battles EVERY TIME. I had that particular grouping with Xardass7, DizzyDog, damn_G, Fire_Sword, johannweiss40 for 3 battles straight. I came out and waited a few minutes hoping I would get put with another group that would be around my ranks but nope, put me in battles where I'm the only non-legend. Why is this happening to me? I notice that in many MM team battles and solo battles, I would be the only non-Legend player in the battle. I play very few matches where there are other non-Legends and that number of non-Legends besides me is usually 1 or 2. 

 

Vikings are plaguing me. In team battles, I encounter, on average, 4 Vikings on a team. I die so quickly and my equipment doesn't allow me to be in the top 3. When I'm in the top 3, it's on the losing team. Being a Support Nanobots Isida these days isn't profitable. It's better to attack because I come in the middle or almost last when I'm that; usually with 0 kills and 5-12 deaths. Vikings just dominate in battles and I can't do anything about that. 

 

I thought this mission would have taken two weeks instead of one but now it seems as if it'll take three weeks if I try hard enough. I can't even cheese it and use Viking because I get slapped all over and I can't aim for crap. The hull is too slippery and uncontrollable. It's a mystery how my projectiles don't cause enemy Vikings imbalance when I shoot them. 

 

I am very frustrated playing on that account now. 

 

 

 

Edit: I could have sworn this was on the Let's Discuss Missions thread; it even said so as the name of the tab. Whatever, it would still be a complaint.

Several of the mission types are total crap.  The "top 3" missions are really TEAM missions.  You can be the very best player in the game, have better equipment by far.  Score twice what anyone else in the game does... and STILL not complete the "top 3" mission because MatchMaker paired you up with a passel of incompetent boobs.  The "complete N missions" and the "use overdrive N times" are just to keep people from quitting before the game is over BECAUSE 

 

 

MM put me in Legend battles EVERY TIME.
 

MatchMaker is complete and utter crap and should be removed from Tanki.  It puts people in battles they don't want to play, many times when they're already lost, on maps they don't want to play.  And as you've pointed out, MatchMaker is really, REALLY crappy about tossing you in with players 4, 5 or even 6 (sometimes EIGHT) ranks higher than you.  And you're trying to complete a "top 3" mission.

 

Personally, I think MM is the worst change Tanki has ever made.  And it's not even close.  It's worse than the next 10 bad changes Tanki has ever made - combined.  MM should be considered Tanki's biggest bug.

We figured out that you do not like MM just by looking at your nick. You played 50 hours with it in MM.

Lucky if the worst you've seen is 8. I've personally seen 10 and others have seen, I believe, up to 13.

Well, I wouldn't say that the idea of a matchmaking system is a bad one. More like how and in what form it was added into the game was the flaw.

MM is flawed regardless of the manner in which it was added to the game.

The March Update brought about changes to browsers which now means if I try to go into Garage to change turret I am locked out of the game - tank frozen solid, controls locked.
That wouldn't have been an issue before MM, because I could select a turret/alt and find a map/battle to suit that turret.

Now, most of the time I'm put into random maps that don't suit the turret's alt and I can't get into Garage to change it once I'm in it.

MM and merging the RU and EN servers means we got players we can't talk to - and half the time they're too stupid to talk to anyway - on maps we have no say in, with turrets (some of us) can't change, and with Clans still able to get in and dominate.

I am, frankly, amazed Alternativa is still trading.  Any other company with such disdain for its customers would've gone bust by now.

On @TheCongoSpider, I had a Top 3 places on the winning team x15 weekly mission and the last hour and a half before the server update yesterday when I was on 8/15. I grinded battles so that I wouldn't have to miss out on a container. Made it to 15 with 8 minutes before the server update started.

I log in for the first time today after almost being slaughtered by my Mathematics exam and see that I have another one waiting, on the account that I have the hardest time doing this mission on.

I had my extended luck with not getting it since its implementation and now it's being thrown in the dirt these past weeks.

Darn..... that back-to-back Top 3 mission happened to me too. Both of those mission containers ended up giving me Speed Boost and Mines. Although other time, it gave me some delicious Gold Boxes.

While the list of complaints in the head post of this forum includes a couple of mentions of the "top 3" mission, you haven't bothered to indicate the most insidious aspect of the disgusting "mission."


 


Captain Ricnot was in Rugby, as one of the lower ranks, and matched on an absurdly weak team; I managed to tie the match with the most meager support. I had the high score for my team by far, and I was 55 points ahead of the top score on the other team. Did I complete the 1st-place mission?


 


Of course not.


 


We didn't win. We tied, 2-2. Despite outmatching all other players on the field, the mission remains.


 


Missions have had problems since inception, but every new "improvement" has resulted in more problems. Mods complain about repeating complaints here, but this forum was for venting until someone decided it was too much trouble.


 


Daily logins continue to drop day after day. Tanki hasn't done anything in months to improve any of the primary complaints. They might deploy a new hull and a new turret, and that might bring in some cash for the new equipment, but it won't solve problems of matchmaking. It won't make missions meaningful. It won't end the mults that supposedly don't happen anymore. It won't prevent repeated spawnkills. Nothing Tanki has been promising will improve any of the significant complaints listed in the head post of this forum. 


 


Mods say they report. If they do, there is no evidence, and we never hear anything about it. We never hear the Devs express understanding. We never hear plans for remedy. We do occasionally hear justifications for why something has to be the way it is, but such words ring hollow as complaints only mount.


 


Tanki could have dropped the "Top-3" mission. That would have been a trivial fix in terms of time and effort. Yet, we still suffer. We players are not worth even the most trivial concession.

I don't know if you recall when top 3 missions first came into being. The mission used to be first place on the winning team. Players were outraged and suggested that top 3 was more reasonable. That's when the top 3 mission came out. The Devs listened to the players and made the change. 

 

Other suggestions were: First place on winning or losing team. Top 3 on winning or losing team. One player stated that he could get top 4, but not top 3 and requested top 4 of winning team. 

 

Mods explained that top 3 of the losing team isn't difficult if you try hard enough, but top 3 of the winning team is more difficult. I've been top 3 of the losing team much more often than the top 3 of the winning team. The Devs tried to put some variety in the missions by making some easy and some more difficult. 

 

Another change to the missions where the Devs listened to the players was supply pick up. Players were complaining that with this mission there was a lot of fighting over supply boxes and sabotaging. Players would come into battle with the soul purpose of collecting supply boxes and leaving. Other complaints were players picking up supply boxes when they didn't need it leaving a teammate with no health (Collect x number of Repair Kits). The Devs changed it so using your own supplies counted towards the mission.

I recall all too well. First, I have to assume this is not your first account. Your statements assert you have more than two years experience. You are muddling your facts a bit (but not enough to matter to your point), and much of what you say are things I wrote back then, but everything you say is more than a year ago, more than two years ago for some of it. When was the last time the Devs listened? Does eliminating the Jugger mission requirement count for you? Doesn't for me. That would have been a nonissue within two weeks, and it probably didn't actually matter to mobile users because they probably can't play on the phone enough to get the Thankos paint anyway. They keep dinking the challenges and wars kinda like they realize what ticked us off in the previous one, but not quite. They tweak to maximize cash purchases, not what we complain about.

 

Daily log-on is dropping steadily.

 

We are down to something near a quarter-million logins per day. Working from vague impressions and foggy memories, Tanki was once up to 2.5 million logins per day. Some of the loss is unavoidable. Much of it is due to bad decisions and failure to listen to feedback. They say they look at the objective data. They never explain, but even if they do, players are not objective. Players are nearly entirely subjective.

There was never a finish 1st place 15 times weekly mission.  So your comparison to previous single-finish is apples to oranges.

 

Finish top-3 x 15 on winner takes an average of 60 battles, and there is no slow accumulation - it is totally dependent on the team you are randomly placed on.  Mods assume the losing team does not try, which is just stupid.  So if ALL players are trying, you are competing against enemy and your own team = opposite of "not difficult".

 

"Mods explained...." LOL.  They have an explanation for everything - even though the explanations don't make any sense.

Remember the Viking & Hunter stats switch?  Do you remember the explanation for that?

 

The Mods "explanations" are weak at best.

60 battles??!! Darn... I do this just by playing Juggernaut.

Perhaps you are simply fortunate. Fortune is about the only thing that explains anything in this game now.

 

For top players, the "1-3 on winning team" will occur in about three matches because of the odds of being on a team that actually wins and the odds that three players on your team will be better or more lucky. More than three matches for most players.

 

There are players who have consistently proven to have skills and knack for certain things, like high kills or routine top-three finish. These players are good, exceptional, and rare. I'm not that good. I am better than average. I don't understand players that aren't bothered by the main complaints. Some say they aren't bothered. Some say they like this or that problem in some way or for some secondary reason. Good for them, but they must be rare, also, because fewer players are bothering to return every day.

 

Sadly, I think it is too late.

 

Perhaps, if they'd author a solid poll and present to the players...

 

If they made an adequate poll, it would probably be too long for many players, and they'd not bother.

 

If they made a perfect poll, there would still be saboteurs. What to do about that?

 

Even if they got a response that would keep all the remaining players, and many of the remaining players got excited enough to bring back their friends, well, how could things be put right fast enough?

 

I tried to give suggestions for solutions many times. Perhaps my ideas were deficient. Regardless, I have no suggestions at this point.

 

I do think missions could be almost entirely finishing battles in any mode. Finishing battles is important to overall game play. Which mode isn't so important. Also, if for a day or two missions focused on one mode so most players played it, that might help, too. I also think it would help if "Change" ensured a different mode and a different reward every time.

 

Maps could help. First, they could give a check list with check buttons for all the maps and allow players to check three favorites to get more often, and three to not get at all. It would help if there were more maps, but that suggestion has been explained away more than once.

 

I like to vent. It helps me sort out what is bothering me and work on it from my side. Some people think it isn't worthwhile. I think it is valuable.

Everything about missions piled up this morning and it frustrated me. 

 

On this account, I got the same missions and rewards that I had yesterday. Until I had completed the first battle and completed two missions from that, I had wondered if me collecting the rewards from the missions yesterday was all just a dream. Nope, 'twas just a coincidence. 

 

Onto my lower account now, I had two Assault missions (400 Crystals in Assault and Finish 5 battles in Assault). Now this ticked me of because for 3 days straight I've had at least two assault missions on all 3 of my accounts. I used to like Assault with the old Overdrives but with the new ones, the love vanished slowly. 

 

Oh how disheartening it was to see this on the 19th: Assault-Mode.png

 

Now onto TheCongoSpider, I look at the progress I made with the Top 3x15 Weekly mission thinking I had 2 or 3 more days and I saw that I had 8/15 on the last day...again. Ok, I'll just grind some DM battles with Hornet and hope my Overdrive does me well. Nope. After 10 battles (8 DM and two TDMs), I only managed to get it to 10/15. I was being put into Legend battles over and over. One of them were against non-Legends and in 6 of them, I was the only non-Legend in the group. I'll sacrifice the container. I really hope I don't get that mission there next week. I can complete that way easier on my two other accounts but I seem to get it on that account so often now.

It's not going to help when you get a mission for another mode that will take 2-5 battles to complete so I just suck salt and go through with the Assault missions.

For me it's worth to spend 700 crystals to change Asl missions, only because I have problems entering an Asl battle (also why I don't choose quick battle even if I don't have a battle specific mission) and when I do get in one, it's usually garbage.

I personally only change deathmatch missions or excessive "score goals" ones (Though I've tried with mammoth and it's ridiculous :blink: OD somewhat close to the cap point and you always score)... "Capture x flags" mission is easy in assault reds, much easier than CTF.
