Let's Discuss Missions!

For me it depends on a mission. If you need to earn experiences of course join the winning team, but I actually prefer joining the losing team so I can give it a little help and maybe turn it to a winning team ;) ,  but yes if I need to pick supplies I just have to ask my friend for a help. It is the fastest way to do supplie mission. Same thing is with Capture the zone missions. What can I say, I'm just too lazy to actually do missions by myself. :P

How can a friend help with supply missions? He can't drop them for you.

I have another 99,999 mission. I recently had 2 at once, a 9,999 kills and a 99,999 something. I am not so sure the missions would give you as much as just playing unless it is for XT equipment, which I have never had. I would love to get super mission for XT Viking or Wasp.

9,999 and 99,999 kills? :o How long does that take?

As an Isida, I go for the winning team. The losing team are usually playing TDM when they should be playing CP or CTF. Or they are not playing as a team, but rather for themselves. Trying to heal a losing team is a waste of my time and supplies. 84 crystals doesn't pay for the DA and Speed I use in battles.

I don't get the obsession of joining the winning team. Playing against a better opponent is also a good way to learn skill. Yes, you might earn less crystals, but who cares?

#economy.

If you find you have enough crystals to buy the equipment you need then there's nothing wrong with joining the losing team. You might turn the game around.

However, because of the way tanki's economy is designed, it is much harder to accumulate crystals for upgrades, etc when you play for team that loses. The award at end of battle strongly favours the victors. Even if you do well for your losing team, you get squat.

As you rank up higher (maybe you have a higher alt - if so ignore me) the items you need to save for (MUs, Protection Modules, etc) cost A LOT.

You will struggle to obtain the crystals for these upgrades if you mostly play for losing team.

I do. I'm not a buyer, so I need all the crystals I can get for upgrades and supplies. That 84 crystals was in the last battle I played on a losing team. I was in 2nd place. The 1st place got 94 crystals.

I'm usually joining to the winning team. I'm just not obsessed with it. I want to have fun, and I don't find it in unbalanced battles. I don't enjoy steamrolling the opponent. Yes, it's frustrating to lose a battle but it's not the end of the world.

I'm perfectly aware how the fund system works and I try to maximize my profit but it's not my main goal. I have a great M2/M2 combo, so I probably won't spend anything until I reach M3 ranks. My mission chain is over 2 months now and I try to maintain it as long as possible.

That's awfully low even for a losing team. What kind of battle was that?

Everyting you've said here is legitimate.

Was just responding to your part about obession with winning team.  Most people need crystals to improve and in majority of cases that means being on the winning team. There are always exceptions (playing for fun, missions, etc...)

CTF on Rico, red team. My team was playing TDM and didn't seem to care about capping flags. I tried a few times to cap a flag, but blue team was over running our base and I got killed each time. So, we got 0 flags. Although red team got a few kills, blue team was a bit stronger and made more kills and capped several flags.

Missions are a part of the game to earn extra supplies, experience points, crystals and, occasionally, Gold Boxes. Some change their game play, some don't. I've read some players don't bother with missions.

Vote on the poll and give the reason you voted the way you did. If you prefer to remain anonymous, that's okay, too.

Topic merged.

I just don't like that attitude. Quitting because your team is losing is a cowardly act in my book. I also hate the obsession with Gold Boxes. Was gold? Admin pls gold, etc.

Qutting? never mentioned that. I finish a battle I start.  One ammendment here - Tani's commnets remind me that yes there are some situations where I would leave. If other side has 9 tanks vs 5 and we have no hope - there's a chance I'll leave. Get the Timer going. Why should I stay as cannon fodder and receive no crystals?

Just that many times when looking at battle list I see open spot on "losing" team. I rarely join because I don't like getting xp without crystals.  There's little incentive to join a losing team. Look for a different battle that is closer or tied or just starting.

I also am meh about Gold Boxes - if one happens to drop on top of me I'll try for it. Else I'll continue the battle - if that means shooting tankers so be it.

If my team is heavily outnumbered or it takes a while till the game ends and my team has not a mere chance then I'll probably leave. Call that cowardice? Maybe, but I don't really mind. It's just because of the Tanki economy and that's how the game is designed. Often one team has no chance when there is a huge overdrugging on one side. We could call that cowardice too. To me leaving early on the one side and OP drugs or incredibly low crystal earnings for the losing team on the other side is just a natural Tanki balance for me.

I often also don't care much about GBs and that is mainly because I had for a long time a laptop that always lagged when the GB came, making it about as impossible for me to catch it. In the meantime of the GB drop I usually try to cap a flag if the fight is tough.

In general I join the team that I expect to win the game (considering I will be part of this team) and that does not mean it is always the team that is leading. Often I just check the ranks of the player and compare the teams (which is a good thumb rule to me), check if I know good players in there and check if I have the chance to make a notable difference.

I have one of those wierd missions today.

Kill: 9999 enemies

Reward: 83750

Keep or toss?

I'm inclining to toss because the effort/reward doesn't seem worth it? Wouldn't it just block a lot of good "value" missions for me as long as this stays active?

Anyone with experience? Advise plz.

EDIT: Tossed.

Is it just me or do the rewards seem a bit lacking? Another thing I don't get is that "Earn 250 EXP" gives 542 crystals, yet "Earn 400 EXP" only gives 387 crystals... Though I guess I can't really complain since the missions are easy and it's pretty much 1k free crystals.

It's because of the 250 being in DM mode.

A smart person would create a second email and have an account secured there while another account on their first email and rank the second account to the appropriate rank range for the first account. And make a 1 vs 1 battle for both accounts, and boom, missions done :P
