I've been stimulated to build my own gaming computer. I'm an older guy who doesn't have the tech. knowledge, but not scared to tackle it! I'm being offered this start up package at $900.00. Do you guys think that this is a real great setup for my first build and price! Is MSI a good company for a motherboard.

Processor is definatelly one of the best.
About the motherboards, as much as I have heard MSI is not a reliable company when it comes to motherboards, but I could be wrong.

Im not sure about the Graphics card, but for that money (430$ on Amazon) I would go for Nvidia graphics card.

BTW: Are you buying this just to play Tanki?

The intel i7 processor is just great. Nothing wrong with that.

I have ordered from MSI before with satisfactory results. They sent me the wrong HDMI cable once, but other than that, their products are great.

A cheaper high quality graphics card would be the AMD Radeon R9 280. The Nvidia GeForce cards are a great card for a variety of prices, as mentioned by Dr.Urbi.

Have fun!

The i7 processor is top spec, no problems there.

MSI have a good reputation, so that motherboard will be fine.

That's a respectable graphics card, but as mentioned above, I'd personally go for an Nvidia card instead, as they're generally known for being better quality.

i7 processor I will get.

I have no idea about mother boards of graphic card.

Money is not that much of a problem, but i don't want to over spend. It not just for TO.

Some told me to get the GIGABYTE GA-X99-UD4P or look into ASUS motherboard.

May I ask what else you will be using it for? Because you have chosen some very high spec components, which may be a waste if you're only using the computer for general office tasks or day-to-day work.

I always wanted some type of power no bling gaming computer. I'm old so money isn't a big deal, but I'm not a fool either. I heard that I should be looking for a motherboard that is Windows 10 ready?? I don't need a bling case. I will be getting 32g of memory. The "graphics card" who is the well known reliable company??? I will be doing streaming, TV is going!

I failed to mention  next month I'm changing my internet and bringing in internet speed of 75 mbps!

If you are only going to game you dont need the i7 you can choose the i5 4690k. But if you do alot of video editing, live streaming on twitch and such processor dependent work i7 is the way to go. Also 16 gb of ram is more than enough for now. MSI is a well known company, other good amd card manufacturers are XFX and Sapphire.  The 390X is a beast of a graphics card and you can even play games at 4k with a single one. I think it is on par with the nvidia gtx 980 ti.

I forgot I will be using a 40 inch monitor! I'm hearing I will need two graphic cards??

Unless it's a dual monitor one card is enough. Also try to get a g-sync monitor if youre paying alot.

Streaming and Gaming! Do you see anything wrong with this motherboard or do you think ASUS is a better company?

The CPU (i7-4790K) isn't compatible with that motherboard. You need to choose a mobo with Z97 chipset.

Amd fx line is nothing compared to i7 4790k and he is also going to live stream. But the amd  is gonna bring in its zen series soon which has 16 cores so i think that is nice

Like I said I'm getting ready for upgrade in my internet speed 75 mb and I will be streaming and gaming. I want that i7 cpu. I have to go look at another motherboard then! This motherboard doesn't support the i7. Hmmm!

Get the Asus z97-a motherboard or msi z97 gaming both support overclocking the i7 4790k

Nope, a single graphics card will be ample.

You can choose the Intel i7 if you wish, but I'm telling you that for your uses, you will not notice any performance advantage over an i5.

Yea for gaming yes, but he is also going to do live streaming so the extra threads helps him and he is on a big budget anyway
