As much as I can see, many players around the forum have been showing interest in games other than Tanki. Of course Tanki is good (or more precisely, was good, once upon a time), but all of us have some other fields of interest and we do other things in life. Some are in School (like me), some are studying in a College (I know one, and I'm confident there are more), and some are complete adults that have a profession and work (their interest in Tanki is appreciated, but they must be really bored or with a mental disorder of some kind if they're still interested in it at their age :P), but most of us also use a part of our spare time to do things aside playing Tanki and watching Gold Montages (that one is a routine exclusively belonging to Hardcore bored people, but it's ok ;)).

^ I wrote everything above thinking to use it as the introduction to the topic, and only then did I realize that most people would intelligently run away when seeing its length so I put it into a spoiler :)

Bottom line - I entered Tanki today, saw the noobish Daily Missions, and said "I'ma go to Flight Simulator". While landing the beautiful (but somewhat buggy) Boeing 737-800 at Heathrow Intl, it suddenly occurred to me - "Why not share my sick obsession with flying planes with the rest of the bored Tankers lying around?" :D I stopped the plane on the runway, and then went back to the beginning of the descent and recorded the final moments of the landing in order to share them with you :)

The spoiler below IS NOT gonna be uncongenial in any way, you should not take it seriously, and it's completely unnecessary and exists only to entertain you.

↓ As you'll see, I fooled you, and this spoiler isn't going to be quite congenial, but take what's written below seriously.

I've seen quite a few times in which innocent topics that contained no harm to anyone, became stages for certain players to start talking about politics or just insult for no clear reason, so please, for the sake of everyone's sanity - if you want to, watch videos that people share here from their games, take part in conversations about other games, but DO NOT GO OFF-TOPIC AND REFER TO ANYONE PERSONALLY IN AN INSULTING WAY. I created this topic for others to enjoy reading and posting in it - not for them to scream "bruh!" and faint on the floor.

So here's the Flight Recording I blabbed so much about :)

Unlike what many folks think, landing a plane is one of the really hard parts of the flight, probably the hardest, and with all the technical information, I accidentally set the autopilot and everything to land on one Runway, and asked (and received) for a clearance (from the Air Traffic Control) to land on a completely different Runway. But you can enjoy :P

(here you can say "bruh" because now I will flood your brain with Technical things: ILS Approach, Course Bearing selection, Transponder Tuning, NAV1 Navigation Radio Tuning for Approach, Glide Slope, Landing Lights, Landing Gear :D)

Do you realize there's already a topic created for talking about other games?

This one's gonna be closed soooon

There is such a topic, but it's quite dead to my taste and I think we better start a new one before the old one's closed.

Another crazy ILS Landing in Microsoft Flight Simulator, this time at Schiphol Intl. The plane is a Boeing 737-600.

Two things:

1. All of the nuggs that really care about FPS and Quality - it's not my fault that the recording is a little sped up. To record all of those, I just do the landing or whatever I wanna record, and then I use the Instant Replay built-in FSX. I pause the replay, start to record & render a video from the replay using a great Add-on called FSRecorder. In order to make the video run smooth, that add-on slows up the replay, captures all the frames, and then speeds the outcome. But it doesn't speed it up so that it'll be in regular speed - it speeds it up too much, and then I need to slow it down using an editor, which screws the video up a bit.

2. For all the other Airplane nerds out there (except for me), I KNOW that I made a mistake: I descended perfectly towards the runway using the Autopilot Approach function, but with all the procedures to complete (arm the Spoilers, fully extend Flaps, set the Autobrake to 3 since I was instructed to Taxi out of the runway immediately when possible, turn the Landing Lights on, and mute the damn Morse Code from the NAV1 Radio) I accidentally forgot to set the Throttle to Idle, so I wasted quite a lot of the runway hovering above it till I realized why I wasn't touching down :D But look at it positively - it helped me brake a lot quicker, and I used the bad touchdown in order to perfectly stop and exit the runway to the taxiway.

I'm sure 99% of tankers never even heard of this legendary game :(

It was and still is epic.  I even still keep a copy of it and I don't know when but if someday I do get a weekend off anything in life, I definitely would get as much junk food and snacks and drinks and do one of those 48 hour runs where you only leave to either go to the bathroom or get even more food and coffee Total-GeekMode_ON

Other than the graphics being a little coarse and granular, Men of Courage is just one of those rare game examples where the developers nailed absolutely everything.  And the sound tracks  were just too epic, reminiscent of an Oscar winning movie.
