Let's Discuss Game Balance

Firstly, the current game balance in Tanki is carefully calculated (and frequently re-calculated) by analyzing game data from hundreds of thousands of players. Of course it's never perfect, but considering that the ideas you have for changing game balance are based upon your in-game experience alone, it only makes sense that the current game balance is beyond a doubt more even than your it would be with your proposed changes. I'm not trying to be mean here -- but numbers don't lie, and the current game balance is based upon lots of them, whereas your proposed changes aren't.

 

Second, the idea that having the ability to play all maps as a Recruit would make players play in a greater variety of maps doesn't make much sense to me. If you could provide more explanation I'd be glad to read it.

How popular is smoky and thunder? They aren't a threat anymore, and based on statistics that is correct

No one has brought this issue up but its a problem, but i was aware of it ever since. Since the update which saw rank limits and the hiding of battles you can't join, has changed the way people view the game

 

I actually like the hiding of battles not available to my rank. Finding a battle is slightly easier without all the clutter.

Sadly correct. They are just ineffective, except in skilled hands. It's all about Twins, Ricochet, and Firebird now. Even Hammer has lost the spotlight thanks to recent changes to its damage and speed, much like Thunder.

Hello everyone, i am sjawz and i have been playing Tanki Online for about a year i think, maybe less and maybe more.

 

Throughout my playing, i really admired all the guns and hulls, they all have their own weaknesses and strong points.

 

But, ladies and gentleman, nothing is perfect, not even Tanki Online!  :( (Sorry, but it is true)

And that is why i am here today, not to speak about everything that is wrong with this amazing game, but to speak about that gun we all fear, that gun that gets all the kills and that gun that is overpowered... The Twins...  :blink: 

 

So now that i've said this? Why? 

 

Why the Twins are overpowered:

 

1. They have no wait time for a second round of blasting.

    You can just keep blasting to your hearts content. It will shoot forever, with no 2 second breaks between               them, not

    even 1 second breaks.

 

2. They can deal knock to your tank!

    So, a gun that can be fired forever, and can deal knock?! Oh man... bye Railgunner, we love you all.

 

3. They have no heat if you do fire forever.

    So, the Vulcan can fire for a certain time non-stop before the tank starts to get the damage from doing so...

    Also, the Vulcan does not deal that much knock, and has the same damage to the Twins, this makes the             Twins SO much stronger when it comes to that, also yes, i have excluded the consideration of range.

 

4. Just needs one hold of a button to make it fire for several minutes on end.

    They could have ATLEAST make it shoot once for every time they tapped the spacebar, BUT NO, they didn't,      almost like they support the idea that this gun is too overpowered.

 

I think those are all of the problems with the Twins, there may be more! We never know, but these are all the obvious ones i found, and i think i am the only one to raise this topic, ;D i feel special.

 

But anyway, i wonder if they can nerf this gun in anyway to keep it to my agreement somehow? But the game developers need your opinions too, right?

Twins is not that overpowered, you just need a twins protection paint, same as hammer, it got nerfed and most people have tiger, but im still sticking with it

Ok, so I think we all know that unless you have zeus, firebird is to annoying, it has become Tanki's favourite turret, it's after burn is so much. Please nerf it down, especially at m2, those m2 affects should be m3 fire's, not m2. If you will tell me to get a paint, my storm (fully mued fire protection) is no good against a hornet m2 and fire m2(rustle), when I am using isida, that's not supposed to happen. isida is supposed to be able to kill fires first, then die. Twins, the purpose of it's existence is defeated. It's a mid range turret, yet it is only used in island and hill. Please make the damage of it in close range far less tanki.

1. Twins has a limit to its effectiveness. Due to the slow speed of the plasma it is easy to get out of the way.

2. So does Ricochet. Also due to range a Rail can still pop a Twins because of the limited effectiveness of the plasma.

3. Vulcan is similar to a Gatling gun - in real life they overheat very quickly as do all machine guns. A plasma weapon would have no such limitations if it did indeed exist. Also the punch force of Twins has little effect on heavy hulls.

So true. Bought Twins M3 at the 40% sale and tried it out - only effective against heavies or against light hulls no more than an arm's length away. I didn't even want it all that much and I could wait until Christmas 50% (hopefully), especially with the recent update reducing cost of all turrets and hulls. Much regret...

Its actually hard to get out of its way, in the right circumstances

 

In the next rebalance im hoping hammer gets an increase in its reloading time, basically, if you don't have m4, no one uses it

Fire needs a nerf

Rico is fine as it is

Freeze needs a rebalance

Twins needs a slight rebalance

Smoky needs a rebalance

Isida is fine as it is

Thunder needs a rebalance

Vulcan needs a shift

Actually Twins at M3 is great if you use something like Hornet, drive forward, and get the angled part of your hull under an opponent - then you can use the impact force to lift up the opponent, move under them, and finish them off without being damaged - works quite well against Vikings and Hunters.

 

I bought it as part of the Vandal kit so I could get a heavier hull, upgrade, and a paint which overall would have been cheaper than upgrading Viking from M1>M3 and getting a separate paint. With Graffiti and Twins I can drive right up to those annoying Vulcans without fear of much damage.

 

If you get right up in someone's face with Twins then that's when it's the most powerful.  I tend to be right in someone's face with either Firebird or Isida so I'm used to this kind of  "weakness"

 

In fact Firebird is very deadly if you are able to drive side by side with another tank so that you're literally scraping each other's paint off. :lol:

 

Also Twins works good as a deterrent in close situations to let others escape. I'll usually switch to it if I'm on red in Rio so I can use it to suppress fire once a team member steals the blue flag.

I believe that if a player buys something... he SHOULD be able to SELL it, otherwise there are people who lose all their money on stuff that they don't need. For Example if someone buys loads of skins then says '' I really need that weapon upgraded I need to sell something....''  so I think you should be able to sell anything for 50-70% of what you paid for it.

Its actually hard to get out of its way, in the right circumstances facing Twins it is at least possible to escape, Vulcan is a lot worse

Fire needs a nerf yes!

Rico is fine as it is yes (or a tiny nerf)

Freeze needs a rebalance yes

Twins needs a slight rebalance no

Smoky needs a rebalance yes

Isida is fine as it is yes

Thunder needs a rebalance yes

Vulcan needs a shift if you mean it should be made more "skilled" and less OP than yes: it definitely needs a huge nerf

Railgun is fine as it is

Shaft is fine as it is

Common knowledge dictates otherwise, but I agree with you that the combo Hornet/Twins

(maybe Hunter/Twins as well, but is slower) does make sense.

You deal a lot of damage with Twins, but you simply got to get close.

 

Which hull is more suited to close the gap fast than Hornet? Only armour is an issue.

Wasp is faster, but has a hard time dealing with the recoil and lacks even more armour.

Tanki Online needs to give missions for warent officer 1 and above missions to get there things m1, m2, m3 what ever they have. also the payment options are hard.to complete they should make a anougher way to earn free crystals like surveys. its just an idea plz consider it.

There are three guns I believe are grossly overpowered. These guns are so over powered one who is three ranks below me can easily kill me. I have no defense against these guns in the hands of lower ranks, and this is why I call these guns “In house cheats”

 

On the top of my hit list is the Flame thrower. The m1 seems to have normal damage power, but the m2 is grossly overpowered. So much so that if a flame touches me for a mere one second, I will slowly cook to death. This overpowered gun can kill wreck three tanks at a time. A little major can easily kill me. I don‘t see how this is fair. Many of  a game has been ruined because of this “in house cheat“

 

Next on the list are the M2 Twins. These weapon are so overpowered that a Lt Col. Can pound the hell out of me and kill me in less than five seconds. There is no defense against this gun either. Funny thing though: I look at the stats in the garage, and the numbers don’t seem to reflect the power of this gun.

 

The hammer, too is overpowered,  with no mods, it starts at a whooping 76.7 for kill power. And then to make it worst, reload time before mod out is only 2.04 seconds. I don’t think this is fair. Overpowered and with a 2.04 second reload?! Ridiculous!

 

Some will make comment/suggestions that I think are dumb.

 

They might say: by a certain paints that will protect you from x gun. Really? Then I would be valuable to the other guns. And further more…. Who (except those who buy crystals) would be that rich?

 

Some might say buy a heavier tank. Again - also dumb. How many are rich enough to start from scratch with a new tank and still maintain the guns they own?!

 

Or someone might suggest buying one of these guns…..Again who would be rich enough to buy another gun from start from scratch?

 

These dumb comments will irritate me. Please pause and think before you post.

 

I would like to know if anyone else but me are complaining about these “In House Cheats”

Every turret has its own advantages. firebird is bad at long range maps but dominates dm. So? M2 twins. get roger paint and it's over. the damage is rigged, but everyone knows its gameplay. For hammer, you can only fit 3 rounds a clip. once you shoot one, you can't reload. all you have to do is run or drug double defense or just equip the paint "atom" at your ranks. that's it  :) hope you found this helpful. and other turrets like freeze are good for guarding the flag and isida is good for healing and earning xp. and with rail, you are most likely to be annoying but not the top player. it depends if once can use their turret efficiently or not. but the path you take is up to you :D

there are many contests you can participate in like masters of parkour or another a newspaper article contest. Or play a lot of switch around your missions. if you have extra money to spare, just buy crystals at 2x cards or discounts.
