Fairly asking..

 

Are Smoky and Isida OP?

 

I just wanna hear opinions as just these turrets pull my attention as a little OP.

People say Isida is OP because it's a healing turret, and since Repair boxes are rather rare, it can be super useful to a team trying to make an offensive push.

 

So it's powerful in that regard, but because the player who's using it is giving up a lot (range, damage, control), I think it's only fair for it to be useful.

 

Now, if you throw drugs into the mix, then yes, it's overpowered. My question to you then would be this... which turret with drugs ISN'T overpowered?

 

Yes, I consider both of these turrets to be OP, especially Isida.

If you use Viking and Isida with supplies on lower ranks, you are gonna be one opponent to be reckoned with.

The supplies are overpowered, not the turret.

 

In my opinion, anyway. ;)

Rico is the most ridiculous weapon in the game. It simply has too many capabilities. OIt has a wide vertical arc, its shots have a huge knockback effect. And while the info says its shots are not very damaging/ But in the game you find it fires so fast yu are dea in 3 seconds. And if you shoot back you night hit 50% of your shots (3 seconds worth) because you are geting knocked all around.

 

Did I mention it shots bounce and it can hoot around corners?  Yeah it has that capability too.

 

Compare that with Smoky. I'll have to hit a target tank 3 to over 12 times to kill it. That 3 is for a basic Wasp/ Anything heavier it'll be 4-6 shots which even at Smoky's fast fire rate means 9-10 seconds...and I can't miss a single shot. Each one which must be aimed.  Miss one and you die.

 

In the team games there's the benefit to geting credit for wounding tanks even if you do not take the kill shot. But in DM you are at a massive disadvantage w/Smoky compared to weapons ike Rico when you can just dump all you shots at one point in a couple seconds.

It's also true that Rico can kill one tank more quickly than Smoky; however, after it has unleashed all its shots, it's at a disadvantage as it has to wait to reload. 

Smoky has criticals as well, which can change a lot.

I'd advise you to hold your argument until you reach a bit higher level. Admittedly, I thought all my problems would magically disappear when I first got Rico (and Shaft... and Isida... and, well, that last one's kinda true), but Ricochet is far from overpowered. Sure, it's damaging and has high impact force, but it can only really take out one target at a time, while with Smoky you can pepper a whole group of tanks from long range.

 

That's another thing -- while Smoky may deal very little damage at range, it can still knock off a Shaft or Railgun shot, saving your life or the life of one of your teammates. Ricochet's projectile can't reach too far and travels slowly.

 

And then there's the fact that Ricochet becomes a "meh" turret after M1, while Smoky turns into the hellspawn to rule all demons at M2.

Well I am glad to hear that about Smoky because that is without a doubt the most fun turret to me. It "feels"like shooting.  

 

I have an alt Fire / Hornet that absolutely scours enemy tanks from the map, but I find playing it can become very repetitive and thus boring. With Smokey I find the game play much more varied.

This account actually started out as a Fire/Wasp combo (as you can see from my many Wasp/Fire hours played), but it simply got too easy to roast enemy tanks for me.

 

...That and Tanki kept telling players to drug against Firebird in their V-LOG's...  <_<

Yeah, I got the Railgun just to see what XP/BP is all about. It's actually rather fun, though if you suck at it (like me) then don't expect too many crystals. XD

Indeed, I believe the railgun doesn't have the penetrating power required (or it has too much for your brittle...account to contain?).

 

I believe the Railgun's penetrating power must be buffed in exchange for some damage.

yeah, it's pretty over powered at warrant officer ranks, i used to be 1st in every DM i played when i was a warrant officer.

firebird is a good turret but there are many ways to outrun it, you'll learn give it some time :)

True. And most Firebirds at WO and below ranks don't even know how to rotate their turret properly, so all you have to do is go round them.

Thunder: it can kill a mammoth m1 in 2 shots with double damage. That's really annoying. And you can't hide because there is splash damage.

 

Twins: that impact force is just brutal.

 

Isida: this is the most OP turret. It can self-heal and do stupid amounts of damage while healing allies. It's impossible to kill a drugged isida / an isida behind a vulcan.

No, Railgun is more fun at all times. Repetitive turrets are Vulcan and Shaft, but I enjoy both of them.

Ever played twins?

1. Two words. Reload. Forever.

 

2. That range is just low.

 

3. Well, I have to agree there when a team of Isidas come but come on M2 and M1 Isida already are weak enough, double damage will take them out ez (a HORDE of them)
