Let's Discuss Game Balance

I've actually realised people sometimes join to do missions only, for example to collect 10 Speed boosts, as they might sit at the same spawn waiting for that box to drop in order to complete the missions and not participate in the battle at all. That is the annoying part. It seems like the missions are causing the few problems in main battles.

Why not remove those useless missions and add more "Earn 500-2000XP" in battles in order for players to participate more in a game rather than waiting for a dumb box to drop.

Hard for players who have work IRL or are very busy but want to keep the chain going on. I used to be very active until recently as my exams have started. I lost my mission chain for the first time in about 6 months as I didn't have enough time to do the harder missions. These missions are easy to do, just find an empty battle and you're good to go. Removing these missions is not a good solution to the multing problem, instead they should increase the rewards of the harder missions and decrease rewards of box collection missions to even it out and punish the mults.

Also, next time use I&S section to post your ideas over there for a better discussion.

I believe that is what this person was doing - sitting on the small hill near the bridge that has a repair kit.

I go into battles to collect supplies for missions as well because - as you suggest - they are relatively easy to do.

However, I also play the battle I'm in.

Over the course of a 15-min battle it should not be a huge issue to contribute to team AND collect supplies.

And if you absolutely have to camp - at least use a camping turret so you can eliminate the competition.  Hammer doe not qualify.

How are those missions "useless"? They aren't. They are exactly as useful as any mission.  As has been explained it is good to have a range of mission fdifficulties, and, good players pick up boxes while playing missions.

Bad players are going to be a drag on your team if they are doing a box mission or not.

How exactly are they useful? Join in-game to collect boxes and go out, ruining the entire game. I don't see your view of these kind of missions being useful whilst players join to collect the boxes and leave straight after without helping the team, that's my exact opinion of these kind of missions being useless.

You have to think outside the box. Tanki needs mission to keep the gameplay flowing, use logic, think outside the box, expand your brain a little bit. Literally arguing about useless points, calling these missions "useful", drains my head out.

good players pick up boxes while playing missions.

Define me a "good player". Once again pointless statement. What a good player has to do with picking up a box? Either way, a bad player can do the same thing, pick up a box, let's be smart here.

Same with "good players" as you mentioned, they can drag the team if they are doing a box mission or not, there is no in between good or bad player, its about players choice what they want to do in the battle.

I absolutely understand your point about not having free time, which is totally understandable.

That was not a suggestion, it was an example, otherwise I would've suggested it. Therefore, be a little bit smarter before telling somebody what to do.

Anyone want to @ me? I'll be waiting here.  :)

How exactly are box missions useful?

Well here is why: after you pick up X number of boxes you get a reward. The rewards are useful in game play. Either they add to your stock of supplies, or to your Crystal fund, or perhaps by giving you three hours of Premium Account.  These rewards all have utility, or IOW, are "useful".

There is no reason whatsoever to assume every player on a box mission does nothing but take boxes and disrupt the game. Does it happen sometimes?  Sure.  Is this destroying game play? LOL

Is this being debated? Look, half the time I get "Nab X number of Speed Boosts" anyways, and nobody cares about Speed Boosts. I don't think a farming mission that takes less than ten minutes is harming anyone, especially if I put those supplies to good use. I DO agree there should be a common courtesy of who takes what and when, but that varies based on a number of things and it's down to the individual to decide.

Depends on HOW you do the farming.

In order to "farm" you need to enter a battle.  If you enter a team battle to just collect supplies, you are taking up the spot of a tanker that would contribute to the team.

My example further up was a player NOT contributing to the team, basically putting us one player short.

The way I do it is as follows; 1. Enter battle, 2. Fight my way towards the enemy drop zone, 3. Hold that area, denying the enemy the supplies while grabbing the ones I need for the mission, 4. ??????? , 5. PROFIT! Takes me about one game. I think that since I'm denying the enemy their supplies, it's at the very least an act of beneficial sabotage. And it's a personal challenge to hold that area down since they'll naturally want it back. I'm distracting, detracting, and profiting in one move.

Hey this is a nice concept. Why think of things yourself when you can just steal good ideas from other peeps?  Consider this heisted.

Wolv is correct in the ultimate analysis but on athe ractical level I do not see this as a big issue. Every so iften I see a healthy tank run over an RK. I figure he has a missions and that's about it. Most often the tank is playing the game mode other than that.

I can't really think of a time in a close game I saw a teammate do nothing but camp boxes. Even if a player joined the game with an eye on box grabbing the chance to play in a fun/close game is usually appealing in itself.

As for joining a 3 vs 4 game wher eone side is down 7 flags to none ... who cares?

Anyway .... TO is always a mix of playing the for the game mode win as a team and individual goals by each tanker. For a large-scale example of this, consider the War event.

Please nerf the magnum. The gun is clearly OP in almost every situation.  Its good at melee range, it works well in long distance and mid range as it can just shoot over walls, and its damage is INSANELY high. For a gun in which you just have to point and click in battles like polygon CP, people LITERALLY dare to use it to capture the point simply because of its stupid damage. It deserves a nerf. It also destroyed some of the best maps in the game like Noise. Its unimaginably bad to play there simply because of the advantage that a magnum has. Magnum at M0, M1, M2 is fine, but at M3 its attack speed and damage is just not fair. Additionally, maybe its time to introduce some paints against it as its impossible to have a paint against a magum and a thunder(or most guns). Actually, if a magnum is that level of bad that it misses its shot, it still gets this LARGE explosion radius. Not only that, it has this mechanism where if the shot grazes you, not touching just passing from nearby it deals the whole damage. That is just straight up broken. Its fine on the striker as the gun isnt completely OP, but this magnum is out of control. Maybe instead of introducing money-mongering paint schemes its time to actually balance the game TO.

On a second note, nerf the titans health too. Its super overused right now and is clearly just a better choice than any other hull. Since drugs are now used left, right and centre, its speed issue is almost negligible, and its way too TANKY.

Please balance this out. Please. Stop ruining the game already its been so long stop behaving like a bunch of amateurs, devs.

THUNDER OP!! Its A Real OP!!

because Firebird ofcourse has a short range!! No Distraction when fire shots!!

But THUNDER is OP long distance,OPed,Fast Reload,Area damage!!

U must consider that first!!

I think the turrets to upgrade are twins, magnum, vulcan and striker. Vulcan and striker because no one uses protection again them. Twins and magnum because they are OP regardless of protection modules.

Why did they give Twins splash damage anyways? To avoid using them too close to the enemy?

Exactly.

I'd forgotten how turbulent the forum was when @I.Follow was here... guess it's back  <_<

Two tedious peas from the same tedious pod.

They added it so you can buy an alteration to remove it.

IIRC if you use the no-splash alteration you cannot use teh longer range with speedy projectiles alteration.  Since that alt makes Twins OP people generally put up with the splash self damage.

Just build your module collection around Twins + 2 modules.
