Don't we all hate how similar the hulls are? Don't we all think we die too often, not enough hitpoints? Don't we all think the hulls are too slow (except Mammoth, it is too fast).

Hulls are too similar, too weak, and much too slow (except Mammoth, which is much too fast).

I think Wasp and Hornet at M3 need a bit more health. Base health should be 1600. M4 should be 2200. All of these new alts makes these two way too weak

I agree Light Hulls need more health and need to be faster.

They can be out run easily with the 40% speed increase by speed boost.

They have die all the time, you spend most of your time re-spawning especially on small maps.

...you can get M1 equipment at rank 3?   Yep...check it out: https://en.tankiwiki.com/Product_kits   A buyer can now buy a Keeper kit with M1 Smoky, Titian, and Smoky protection at rank 3...that is at 500XP.

Just for grins I started a new account (KissMyKeeper) just to see how long it took to get to rank 3...less than 20 minutes.  I was in one full battle and two partial battles.  I'm pretty sure you could make it to rank 3 in two complete battles :)

Since our hypothetical buyer is already shelling out 2.99 for the kit, he will probably buy some crystals too, right?  For another twenty bucks he can buy enough crystals to bring Smoky and Titan to M1-MU5.  For a heftier investment of $70 he can fully MU Smoky and Titian to an M2 level...at rank 3!!!  Granted, he would probably be way past rank 3 at this point as he wouldn't have enough crystals to go with many Speed-Ups, but still...  Imagine the devastation of an M2 Smoky/Titan at rank 3...Yikes!   This actually kinda makes me wanna send Tanki $25 so I can give being a real juggernaut a try.

If our buyer is more of a speed demon he can get a Wasp kit with Isida (Vampire), Smoky (Savage), or Firebird (Firefly) at rank 4 which can't be more than a couple more battles and another 15 or 20 minutes away.

To be fair, all four of these kits are available to non-buyers at very low ranks too...rank 6...good luck getting enough crystals by rank 6 though.

Another surprise piece of info from newbie-land is that Daily Missions start the moment you create an account...this is no big deal since Missions always started at very low ranks, but it is a small change.

I am also very happy to report that there seem to be actual newbies in beginner ranks again.  Previously, the last account I made four or five months ago, the players were all pros, or at least very experienced and a real newbie didn't stand a chance.  As of my playing today, I would say the majority of players were probably new players.  This is great news since it bodes well for Tanki staying in business despite the poor development decisions they are prone to make.  Organic growth in Tanki...whoda thunkit?

we all know that lol... update happened in december last year

:) I guess I'm a tad slow.  I haven't really looked at low rank kits in the shop for a very long time...it was kind of a shock to me anyway....slow. :)

Well tanki is just unreal now... you unlock the first M3 at Sergeant Major...

You can get Siberian kit which has freeze m2 at Sergeant Major from the shop, and then you can upgrade it to M3... just unreal.

From what I've seen on my WO2 account, there's a lot of opponents who already have m2 equipment that's likely upgraded. I once saw a guy whose rank was below captain but had a mammoth m2, probably a 10/10 m1 striker, and the cyclone alteration... and the fact that these players can be put in battles with other players who barely have m1 stuff is just frightening. He could probably even take me down cause I don't have striker protection.

Took this maybe a few weeks ago.

How.jpg

That's the highest Gear Score I've seen on a WO5.

I also encountered this yesterday.

Buyer.jpg

The Siberian Kit was a mistake since it came out.

I've seen many fully MUed rigs at ranks 9 and 10...even as low as 8 once in awhile.  Painful to battle with, but buyers pay real money to be so OP...good for them and Tanki.

What I'm amazed at is that now a buyer can start an account, play for fifteen minutes, and with an injection of real money, have a Smoky/Titan fully MUed (M2 really) at rank 3!  M0 equipment for only two battles in their Tanki career!   I am astounded at the idea of an M1-MU10 Smoky/Titan battling Recruits and other beginner ranks....just too funny.

Battling against ranks 1, 2, 3, and 4, an M2 Smoky/Titan would be way more devastating than the Juggernaut.  How awesome is that?  I bet it won't happen too many times because the buyer/player would rank up very quickly...just a matter of a few hours...so there is little danger to the game, and any real newbies will be safe and sound for the most part, but that MU10 Smoky/Titan could happen now and then. :)

I said I would never send any money into Tanki because of the way they change/ruin any equipment you buy, but this idea of an M2 Smoky/Titan at rank 3 has got me seriously considering going back on what I said and buying the kit and a bushel of crystals.  The massive OP-ness wouldn't last too long because eventually you'd rank up to the point where there would be actual competition, but it would be a stupendous slaughter for a couple of weeks....FUN :)

The question is, how long does it take for a new player to decide they like this game enough to invest in it? There's no way I'd buy on a game unless I'm satisfied I like the game enough. And it takes time to decide that on an MMO game. I'd guess the minority buy straight away, another minority would buy once they hit the high ranks, with a load buying once they hit the mid ranks by either upgrading that account or starting over again.

Big question...is it the newbies that will buy the OP gear in the early ranks, or experienced players creating an alt to smash noobs for kicks? (and easy challenge rewards)

What is certain is that a player that starts with a typical newbies grasp of controls, garage buys, game features etc. is gonna find it tougher going than it should be in the low-to-mid ranks. Mistakes will cost them far more now than it did in the past. New players should be allowed to make mistakes and get their account back on track eventually, not get severely disadvantaged by it for ages, especially as there's a load of garage stuff that's pretty expensive now.

It's great if there are newbies coming to Tanki, not so great if those start disliking the game before they're invested in it..we'll see.

I agree that real newbies probably won't send in money until they get a very good feel for the game...really after they basically become pros.  But, that newbie-ish-now-semi-pro that does like playing Tanki might easily just start a new acct to start over as a fully funded godzilla-juggernaut.  I've started over a dozen times already in a couple of years.

To me, knowing what I know now about Tanki, there is a real appeal to sending in $25 for an M1 killer kit MUed to 5 or 6 and see how far the big head start gets me before I get bogged down in the tediousness of higher ranks.  I think this massive head start might take a player through to rank 20 or so as top level competitor.   Somewhere between rank 17 and 20 the playing field would level out and the rank brackets begin to be oppressive no matter what...unless you are a re-buyer and take advantage of the drones, batteries, supply kits, alterations, MUed protection modules, or even a diverse garage.

So, to reiterate, yeah, I agree with you that it would be experienced players starting over or starting an alt account...but Tanki still gets the cash and the game keeps getting funded.  And I don't see these few godzilla-like alt accounts driving away any real newbies because there just wouldn't be that many godzillas on the battle field at one time.  A godzilla would bash through the first six of seven ranks in a few hours leaving the newbie battles to the actual newbies...a few of the newbies disturbed in the wake of godzillas devastation might have had a "OMG...what the hell was THAT!" moment, but I doubt it would be enough to put them off the game.

Nerf Firebird: Lacks good counters

Nerf Freeze: Same as Firebird

Nerf and Buff Isida: Decrease damage, but bring back leeching

Buff Smoky?: Needs more damages?

Buff Striker?: Needs to lock on faster?

BUFF VULCAN!: Easy to killsteal, requires you to be put in good maps, coordinated teams-which the Vulcan needs-are very rare

Nerf Rail?: Too much damage?

Nerf Magnum?: Too much damage?

Edit: BUFF HAMMER!: Needs faster rate of fire, is not a good counter of anything

Edit 2: Buff Mammoth: Shoving power is its only advantage on Titan, and it's not even a good advantage
