You've got to be kidding me tanki... I know there is no way to prevent this but I did not know where else to post it:

At that RANK?!?!??!?! 7000 GS?!

I don't think that's something they should or even can prevent. I've encountered some players with more than 7000 GS who were at a lower rank than him. We need them for the game to keep running so you're just gonna have to live with it and adapt.

I don't think that's that bad.  At Lt Colonel I was being whipped left and centre by Generals, didn't get much chance to kill any junior ranks.

And anyway, didn't OKDad70 always say GS was meaningless.

Generals?   I was playing Commanders and Field Marshals.  I think a Gismo slipped into a battle as well.

 

GS was meaningless only in terms of using that for entering a battle.  Nothing to stop players from equipping lowest equipment and then switching. Plus - it does not get specific enough.  But it IS easy to see buyers by a score that high at that level.

Overdrive improvement suggestions

 

So I just watched Ghost animator test the new overdrives on test server, and I have to say there are many, many problems. First of all, the big protective dome that is projected by the machine thingy of some hull's overdrive (I forgot which) is way too massive and way too visible! If they keep it like that before the release, it will distract the heck out of me. Viking's overdrive can be described in one word: insane. It is SO OP. There are already druggers/buyers/spawn campers out there, they are already annoying as heck, and them being able to use that overdrive with their no-skill tactics will literally turn them into UNSTOPPABLE evil GODS. Infinite fire rate is ability to literally destroy everything in your path. What has to be done is that the dome has to have way larger hexagons so there's less laser stuff, and it has to be dimmer and the lasers have to be partially transparent, viking's overdrive has to be nerfed so that you can't just fire forever! The power of the overdrives of the different hulls right now is VERY imbalanced. Some suck and some make you a god.

Side note: There's a "valid" tag that you have to go through before being "under review" now? When did that update come?

That's why testing exists - to check balance. I'm sure most of the issues you described will be addressed in the actual release.

Yeah - OD like that on Hornet seem pretty weak.

You can already see where flags are in battle = no extra benefit.

And the module by-pass ... only benefit IF an enemy is wearing that module.  Plus lower ranks... benefit << 50%.

Y'all remember those battles where Recruits could play with Legends? Do they still have those battles today?

no, after the rank limit of 11 ranks (as i have seen overtime) was introduced, that is not possible (MM)

or if there is an official event, then yes

They could somewhat prevent it by making fully MUed turrets/hulls weaker than actually upgraded ones by like 20-30%.

What?

How much do you think items gain going from one m-level to the next?

 

Going from smoky m2 to smoky m3 you gain ~ 9% on damage and 5% on range.   So MU-ing gives you -11% damage?

 

Could not possibly work.

instead of 100% increase in damage from m0-m4 they could simply reduce it to 10%

That would make supplies drones and alterations more useful than upgrading your modification  :mellow:

Why?

 

There'd be no point in upgrading m-levels.   You want this to be Tanki-X?

 

If I wanted to play Tanki-X I'd log into my account there and play.

Have not done that for 6 months.

These were in PRO battles, not MM. 

thats what i was saying, if there are official events where all ranks can join - then it is possible

 

yes ik what u r talking about - those battles were obviously created for an event and then after the event was done then the map was abandoned

What I wanted to say is that fully MUed items shouldnt be equally as powerful as their next m-level ones. I know this wouldnt make too much of a difference but it would still nerf the heavy buyers somewhat. Thats the only thing I can offer besides making them unable to buy high level kits at a comparably low level. Being able to buy a kit with freeze m2 and then actually MU it to a point where it becomes actual freeze m3 at such a low level is ridiculous.

There are a few buyers out there that take advantage of this.

 

There are a lot of non-buying players that like to upgrade their equipment through the ranks instead of just saving up and buying at unlock.

 

Actually - this would help buyers and punish non-buyers.

Buyers would still be able to buy shop kits at much, much earlier rank than unlock.

But if non-buyers dont find it efficient to MU - then to improve they have to wait for unlock rank.  They are stuck for many ranks with inferior equipment.
