Here you can see the designs for the future Legacy skins, since they were based off of the original M3 designs from 2009-2012. As you can see, Hammer, Vulcan, Striker, Magnum, Gauss, and Ares are not there becuse they were made after those dates

What I loved most about the old/legacy skins is that you could see the slighty changing skin-characteristics the turret/hull gradually received during its upgrades. Especially with Railgun, where the lines on the sides and back of the turret get gradually thicker per upgrade and the front light slowly gets introduced to the skin, receiving a different colour at the last 2 modifications. Also on the old Titan skins; you could see the rotor-blades getting replaced by modern-looking metal grilles and the back of the the tank getting a smoother texture, while still looking detailed.

Dang, the old skins had some real nostalgia. I really loved the times where you could actually see your items getting a visual upgrade, too bad that concept has basically been gone due to the new Mk-system...

EDIT: I am aware that this is probably not the right topic to leave this comment, but whatever

Why is it that all the new hulls get a brand new skin (XT) right away, yet wasp and other original skins are still siting with the only skin they have ever had? Even Guass, the newest turret, has 3 skins, XT, PR, and UT. Wasp used to be the hull new tankers started with yet it only has 1 skin, XT. Thunder, Railgun, Ricochet, Mammoth, Hornet, and Viking all have LC skins as well, they were not available right away like wasp was. Smokey the turret that has been used by new tankers since the beginning just recently got it's XT skin in the recent years, it still has no other skins. Please lets give some respect to the original things instead of just forgetting about them and bring new things in to cover them up.

The skins situation is indeed quite confusing. However, I'm not sure why you decided to focus specifically on Wasp, sbecause there's actually a total of 10 turrets and hulls (out of 23), which only have an XT skin at the moment.

In case of Viking, Thunder, Railgun and Hornet the reason is pretty simple - they got the most skins because they're the most popular equipment, so they provide highest potential for monetisation.

In case of Gauss, Ares and Hopper, I suppose the reason is because it's the newest equipment, so the novelty and hype surrounding it will increase the amount of sales of their skins. Something worth nothing about Ares and Hopper, by the way, is that their default skins are basically Ultra, while the XT skins are a combination of Ultra and XT. This is because developers eventually plan to upgrade all existing skins to Ultra free of charge, in order to make the game look more appealing. From now on every skin will be a highly detailed "Ultra" version, even if it won't be explicitly labled as such.

One thing that still makes me wonder is the Demonic skins series. Firebird was the only one to get that skin 3 years ago, and there have been 2 Halloweens and many various events since then, yet Firebird remains the only equipment to have a skin from that series.

Anyway, I suppose that in the near future we can expect old skins to be upgraded to Ultra, and perhaps various turrets and hulls will also get new Prime or other types of skins. I have no idea how long it will take for that to happen though.

Since standard skins are converted to the Ultra-type, how would there be a difference between the 'regular' skins and the current UT-skins? Also, does this update affect Legacy and Prime skins as well? If so, how would Prime and Ultra skins be distinguished from each other since the former is a 2D-ish version of the latter?

I think the Demonic series won't spread to other turrets/hulls next to Firebird, since Firebird suits the Monster/demon-theme best compared to the other turrets. I find it plausible that other turrets and/or hulls will receive an own skin that the other equipment-pieces won't be having; that way each turret and hull will have something unique that distinguishes them from the rest regarding appearance.

I don't have any official info, so my statements are just a mix of speculation and educational guessing.

That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if the current Ultra skins become the new default skins, and the Ultra series of skins will be completely removed, meaning that the current Ultra skins are like an early access thing, similar to what was done with Hopper. Alternatively, the skins may be improved and given new cool features, such as a glow effect, particles, moving elements, etc., thus keeping them different and better than the default skins (though I feel like that would be a missed monetisation opportunity).

As for XT and Prime, I assume those will be updated as well. I have no idea how Prime will be different from Ultra. Personally, I think Prime skins are just an overrated alternative to default skins, with a bit of yellow "lights".

I agree with what you said about Demonic skins. It's entirely possible that there will be a number of standalone skins made for certain themes or events. Tanki X had a similar thing where there were a few unique skin sets for just one equipment combo each, such as "Steampunk" for Mammoth Twins (celebrating launch on Steam), "Frozen" for Wasp Freeze (winter holidays), "Space" for Dictator Thunder (cosmonautics day), and whatever else they made.

Looks like the end of flash is a beginning of new things. If Ultra skin is by default, then more movable part from the tanks (looks like more Tank x tech transfert going in TO).

I focused mainly on Wasp because I know many parkourist use wasp to do their tricks. I think most people can agree that Thunder LC looks so much better than the XT. Everyone likes when things match so having a Wasp LC skin would allow parkourist, and old Mr Thunder fans (R.I.P. Mr Thunder), to use a combo that matches and does not look ugly when using 2 skins in 1 combo. I am not sure if you noticed but I also mentioned the fact that Smokey should also get LC, at least, as it has been the default turret since the beginning of the game. I also said that Smokey Wasp used to be the original combo for new players, not the new version, Smokey Hunter or Smokey Ares.

As for Demonic skins, I think that they should be brought back. I do not know if they ever will but they would be cool. DC currently looks like a colorful version of an LC skin. That is why many players who have DC, like me, will use a LC hull to "match" so it does not stand like Thunder LC Wasp XT would. DC does stand out as is and it would be cool to see some other DC skins created for other equipment for either Halloween or when Developers revamp the Challenges in the next couple weeks.

Im hope to see new set of skins in the game.

It can be expected that we will get new skins for turrets and hulls. Also from a marketing-perspective, it is economically beneficial for the game to release new cosmetic items

Legacy-stylised then. Anyway, I'm wonder why they haven't already upload LC-skins to the game. Textures are there from 2012.

Some of them are extremely low poly (like Smoky, Wasp, and most of the ex Tier 1 equipment. However, I can totally see an LC Freeze or LC Shaft being brought back.

I think that these could easily be added. And so many of them look so much better than many people would want them, especially Shaft LC.

Past months, developers had little time to dedicate to the game as they had to improve the HTML5 version of the game while also maintaining the Flash-version. Now that Flash is officially going to be discontinued, devs have more time to spend on improving HTML5 and adding new in-game features such as renewed tank-models. Because of this, we can expect new skins to come to the game. However, they are currently updating the existing skins to match a more 3D-ish model, so it's plausible that developers will firstly improve the current skins (default, XT and LC skins) and later on introduce new and freshly-updated skins such as renewed Legacy skins

What do you guys think will happen to the XT line now that HD skins are being introduced?

My thought is that they will stay as they are, and that a new line of "HD XT" skins will be launched. I doubt that Alternativa would miss on an opportunity like this to cash in.

This is a sad and depressing theory, but I believe you're probably gonna be right.

But instead of calling them "HD XT" skins, Tanki's probably gonna brand them as.... "X-Treme" Skins lol.

Like how Ultra Skins are essentially HD Prime skins, but the devs gave the HD Prime skins a new name, "Ultra".
