Yes and no

 

Yes its easier being a low rank for some reasons like daily missions helping you out.  But its alot harder in some ways I know many tankers who used to make the bulk of there income from collecting blue boxes, you could do this by camping in a place in a big map with high ranks, this would let you gain a silly amount of crystals (but was of little help to the team).

 

Also I think it's hard to say if it's easier or harder or the same as it will be eaiser the 2nd/3rd/4th/etc time around as you will be able to do it with all your gained knowledge, after all you go make a new account its so easy playing against people who have not played before.

 

Also did not answer the poll as it does not have a option that I would like to tick.

Idk much, but hogree said he got smoky m3 at a super low rank (I think it was staff searg). And I don't know about you, but that's a little easier than using a smoky m1 at searg-major. Yes, I realize that was before the rebalance.

Absolutely, I have 5 alts (:D) and it is so easy to rank and get crystals and get great equipment..... :)

Well in most maps it would fall mostly in 1 or 2 spots , so if you were there and had a meadium/heavy hull you'd definetly get in. However now everyone knows where it falls and I use Hornet , I very rarely get one.

I kinda think it's harder for low rankers nowadays, compared to back a while ago. My main reason for this is that more genes (and even people like me) who know how to play relatively well, go back to noob accounts, and get K/Ds like 25/4 (this literally happened to me a couple of days ago).

Like really really low ranks like major sergeant and below? Yes those where easy ranks . Now even at WO4 its getting hard cause I'm starting to face Fully MUed Firebird M1s and drugger M1 twins users and even with Isida M2 its very very VERY hard to fight M1 Twins with DD

Alot of good has been done to the gameplay on first few ranks.

-buying higher tier gear straight

-limiting the ranks that can fight together

-adding the personal discounts and discounts after buying many same tier equipment

-removing the crystal boxes, that disturbed the gameplay alot, and resulted in the crybox mults, that got insane crystal/exp ratio with very little skill

-the daily missions that have higher reward, than the old gifts, they also require actually playing whitch cuts the number of people collecting gifts for a month or so before actually using the acc and forcing newbies to actually learn playing, and be useful atleast in some way.

-removing the absurdly op kits, allthough kits are still quite op

-making cheap kits, that nonbuyers can affort on time.

-adding smart supplies, so nooby druggers are easyer to end

 

There are also a few doupleedged swords

-premiums, that have op paint for low ranks, but earn exp quickly and thus don't bother the first few ranks that much.

-standardising battles, made it easyer for newbies to last the whole time, and get some reward, also made raiding at low ranks less worthwhile, while making druggers more common.

-cp mode, made earning crystals pretty simple, while still being effective. On the other hand cps are rather easy to raid.

 

I'm sure there are a few things that were better back then, but i do think it's better now.

playing as a lower player with my other accounts i find lower ranks seem to have more fun and they chat more on what kits or items there interested into buying . also the lower accounts want to try and learn new ideas in games ..

I find it so easy to get crystals in these ranks. However, a massive disadvantage is that most people have OP kits, and it is hard to beat them.

In my opinion, being a lower ranker is relatively tougher now because of all the extra features that didn't exist during my days of 'newbie-ness'. Micro upgrades, Daily Missions, Premium Accounts and soon, paints and modules are just to name a few. Some of you might argue that it doesn't make the game tough, but this is my personal opinion. Lesser the things to worry about, the better it is.

We should also take into consideration that as time progresses, more and more players reach the top ranks and start making alts. This obviously makes it tougher for the actual newbies.

This debate actually reminds me of a popular argument which, I think, can be used as an analogy here. Most of us must have heard this from our parents or grandparents that life was tougher when they were children XD. Strictly speaking, any given person will be biased to his or her own time and will probably make it seem better than it actually was. They (the older gen) usually tell us about how tough life was and how they didn't have the luxury of modern gadgets, high connectivity, comfortable and cheap conveyance, fast food, supermarkets, etc. While these things do make life of a modern person more comfortable on a superficial level, the expectations and burdens have also increased. Just to cite a small example, my 3 year old cousin can operate an Android phone perfectly. From spying on his mother to see the pass code to opening it, connecting to wifi and watching his favorite cartoons on YT, nothing is tough for him. At his age, I was eating walls and befriending monkeys. ._.

While this does not mean that he's smarter than I was (he's just being raised in smarter times), it does mean that we expect him to do a lot more things when he's a teenager. On a larger scale, this means that both quality and qauntity of the education being imparted will be increased. So, while our forefathers might have had to walk in the sun for hours to get somewhere or wait for months to get a reply to their letters, they certainly didn't have to worry about scoring low grades in any one of the tens of subjects being crammed into their brains.
