How to use the stats table in the wiki for shaft?

Recommended Posts

This question goes to the DEVs since this a real techinical question.

The chart for Shaft is not very clear as to which stat provides charging data for sniping.

http://en.tankiwiki.com/Shaft

Recharege per arcade shot is clear, and under the upgradable parems, but sniping mode is a bit of a mystery to me.  When I play, I don't see much of a discernable recharge rate difference between firing from arcade mode and rechargeing than from firing from sniper and then recharging.  Thus it would seem to me that the recharge rate after firiing a full charge sniper shot would reload at the same rate as if I had just shot a arcade shot?

Some one help me out.  1000 energy, assuming full charge.  So what, it's a 1000/121.18 to full charge and rescope again?  Help me understand this chart.

If you are thinking on this part of the table:

2h3ue1j.png

Imagine that yellow bar on your tank is full (Shaft is fully reloaded). Full energy bar contains 1000 Energy points on each modification.

After you completely clear out energy points (fire a shot in full sniping mode) on M1 modification in one second 121.18 energy points are restored. It increases with modification of turret. On M2 in one second 122.65 energy points are restored and so on, which is clear from this table. When energy bar is fully loaded, you can enter Sniping mode again (it takes exactly 8,252 seconds to fully reload M0 modification, and it decreases with better modifications.) Hope you understand now :)

Okay, that is what I had been leaning towards, but I was not certain.  469.41 is the minimum consumption right after entering scope then to be certain?  IE, if you scope and fire immeadiately, you will consume 469.41 for a M0 shot right?

Yes, is correct. If you go into Sniper mode and fire immediatly after entering it, you will consue 469.41 energy for an M0 Shaft.

I personally tested it right now and the reloading time needed to recharge the energy bar completely is the following one: 7,91 seconds (not precise misuration, it was done fast and with a stopwatch, manually).

Checking the Wiki stats for Shaft M3, you can find a confirmation of the value I obtained above: 1000 / 126.76 = 7,88 seconds.

This means that, even if you MU your Shaft "Reload time", the time needed to fully reload the energy bar after a full-charged shot is the same.

Yeah, that's a bizarre thing to me, here, I'll explain. (example in M0)

So full charge in Sniper, you fire, the bar begins charging.  Now, you see a target of opportunity in the distance, you fire an arcade shot.

You WERE charing at 121.18.  So at the charge rate of 121.18, to arrive at 469.41 it would take 3.873659019640205 seconds, and we'll round to 3.874, slightly faster than recovering from a arcade shot, but the real question there after, what is the wait time now for the next shot?  Are you still charging from the sniper stats since you never fully recharged, or are you now into the recharge value "time" of 3.882?  And if so, does that mean if you arcade shot after a sniper shot at the first possible opportunity, does your reload time then take effect and if you completely upgraded your reload rate you would now be firing at 3.74 shots per second now?  Which takes precedent, the full recharge of the Sniper shot, or the recharge rate of the last shot taken?

Not saying it would matter per say, the charge rate I assume would remain constant, the "reload" rate is time between shots it seems, not energy accrual for shots if I'm reading that right?  But then, you look at other tanks and the energy bar refills completely, so there there is a direct corollary.  ARRRGGGGG, my head hurts.

Since you did not fire a full-charged shot, your reloading time will not be the same as if you were reloading after a fully-charged shot for sure, but you will be reloading with the reload time needed after an arcade shot.

I will clear this below with images and timings :)

FULLY RELOADED

FULL CHARGED

71d292aa.jpg

Time needed to load a complete shot for Sniper mode: 3.3 seconds for Shaft M3 (same as the "Recharge between arcade shots (s)")

Reloading time needed to completely recharge the energy bar: 7,88 seconds for Shaft M3

FULL CHARGED

71d292aa.jpg

FIRST STEP TO FIRE AND ARCADE SHOT

386be8ab.jpg

Time needed to load the first Arcade shot after a full-charged shot in Sniper mode: 3.3 seconds for Shaft M3

Reloading time needed to fire another Arcade shot: 3.3 seconds for Shaft M3

Reloading time needed to completely recharge the energy bar: 7,88 seconds for Shaft M3

FULLY RELOADED

4521d466.jpg

RANDOMLY CHARGED SNIPER SHOT

5f843122.jpg

Time needed to load an Arcade shot after a randomly charged shot in Sniper mode: 3.3 seconds for Shaft M3

Reloading time needed to fire another Arcade shot: 3.3 seconds for Shaft M3

As you can see above, the reloading time between each Arcade shot is always the same, even if done after a shot in Sniper mode, fully charged or randomly charged (3.3 seconds for Shaft M3).

Also, always by reading Wiki stats and datas I posted above, you can understand that if you randomly charge a shot in Sniper mode, after you fired it, the reloading time you will need to wait to see your energy bar fully reloaded again depends on when you fired your "randomly charged" shot :)

Okay, the exercise was purely mental I suppose, the differences are nearly imperceptible in terms of practical use, and on M3, there is really no difference like you demonstrated. (I normally never fan boy, but I do want an M3 shaft ASAP.  I'm waiting to rank up, the next rank up and I own an M2, looking foward to that.)

Well, I used my Shaft many times and I still like to take it out from the Garage sometimes (expecially for "Destroy enemies" missions) :)
